Their Milk Bath is awesome. It is a powder that contains peppermint, lavender, and other uplifting goodies. It is a great soak and lasts a long time. They take $ 2 off if you bring the bottle back!

This was a delightful little hidden treasure I discovered while wandering the streets of downtown Oakland. Located right across the street from Swan’s, Not So Common Scents has wonderful holistic health and beauty items for sale downstairs and a lounge-​like Afrocentric inspired bookstore upstairs. The highlight of the store is their sale of bath salts that you can scent to your liking. For only $ 6 you can get a 16 oz jar of plain bath salts and for no additional cost scent them with a large selection of scented oils. The oils range from Spiritual to Tupac. There is also a luscious milk bath sold in various sizes as well as black seed oil. This is a deal compared to the lady across the street who has her salts pre-​scented and sells them for $ 6.00 a scoop. The girl working behind the counter was very helpful and friendly. She told me that they’ve been open for about a month or so. I’m glad that I took the time to wander over there.
