This place was a nightmare. I placed an order one night and went to pick it up. a latte and custard cost 12.95. Once i got home, they had given me the wrong order. I called them that night and they told me to bring my receipt and cone back the next day to pick up my correct order. I did just that. I arrived the next morning and explained everything. The fat girl at the counter said i should have paid better attention and she wouldn’t be remaking my drink or dessert! I asked for the store manager. The fat asian manager guy gave me the worst attitude ever, started asking me a bunch or questions and embarrassing me in front of all the people in line! He made me feel like i was asking for a hand out. I felt really frustrated but stood my ground. I told him i wanted what i paid for and not someone else’s food. He said he wanted proof that the drink i picked up wasn’t what I ordered. Just really bad attitude and interrogation. No courtesy or customer service l. After explaining everything many times and all the awkwardness, he finally gave the barista the ok to make the drink and get the dessert. When they were done, the manager wouldn’t give me back my receipt! I said i needed my receipt back he said ok, but i want to take a photocopy of it. He took the receipt photocopied it and wrote void on it 4 times. I had to submit my expenses for work using a receipt that had void written all over it. I am never going back to this place again and never ever recommending this or any other location to anyone. This is not how you treat reoccurring customers. With suspicion and disrespect. JUSTFIXWHAT I ORDERED! Keeping customers happy should be a priority for this restaurant. Not being cheap and treating us like we are at a soup kitchen.

What’s cool about this place is you get paid for your purchase, 3% or something. The service is fast and friendly. I like the house blend but I tried the French Vanilla and it was even better. I really like the chocolate craklins…

I love this place! It’s literally just right across the street from where I work. I love the display cases. So pretty. The best part is everything they offer is super affordable and very good quality. Love the pastries! And I just have to say their baguette pizzas are a must-try!

Stopped by for sandwiches on a Sunday, and got smoked salmon, chicken, and garlic turkey sandwiches. The wait was a little long but it was worth it. The sandwiches were all delicious!

I finally tried this place today and I love it! Adorable open café(looks like it belongs in downtown WC) but in Oakland instead. Lots of beautiful pastries and gorgeous, elegant cakes. I want to come back and try the crème brûlée. I got a Cronut to take home to the hubby to try. I ordered a roasted garlic turkey sandwich. Comes with a small side salad. It does not have a ton of meat but the fresh produce and fresh baguette made it still taste yummy. It had a hint of garlic too without being overwhelming. I enjoyed it and will return. My friend ordered the turkey club which looked delicious. She confirmed it was indeed delicious. Hope it does well, great addition to the area lacking better food choices.

I think the owners were willing to give local folks an opportunity to shine but the place is rapidly going South. I work near the place and have been in on a few occasions. I often seen workers just milling around or talking on their cell phones during down times and there is no such thing as down time in an eating establishment. Little coordination between the front and back. Growing pains I guess.

The pastries are good although their selection isn’t as great as other locations because they just opened. The reason they get 3 stars is because the workers are soooooo slow. Ive been here a couple times now and takes them FOREVER to ring you up. This causes a long line that moves verrrryyyyy slowly. Not a great place if you’re in a hurry.

On Sundays, this area is a ghost town, and it’s the only decent place that is open. I ordered a soy latte, and have to say that it was very good. Much better than Starbucks and on par with Peet’s. They are short on vegetarian options and none of their pastries looked remotely healthy(i.e., maybe made with whole wheat flour, etc). I ordered the veggie pizza which was basically a bagette with a ton of mozzarella. Not what I expected and it was too rich to eat. In the future, I will limit my purchases to coffee and everything should be fine.

Maybe it’s because I hadn’t had my coffee yet. I dunno. But my experience here has not been good. Pastry display is too cafeteria like for these prices. I’d like to know what I’m eating hadn’t been sneezed on or pilfered by every customer before me. Selection is limited. The coffee is lame. The creamer station is dirty. Service is pleasant but very slow. I ordered an Americano. There was one person with Brewed coffee ahead of me. Barista decided to go and get ice before making hot drinks. We wait. She returns at a glacial pace and makes the Brewed coffee. I’m still waiting. She then starts to SLOWLY clean the coffee maker. Goes to the sink to wash the basket, sneezes and sniffles and blows her nose. I complained and asked her to wash her hands. Then I went for a short walk. When I returned there was still no Americano for me. I asked for a refund. Cashier asked if there was something wrong with my order! I haven’t gotten it yet. She explained my drink was being made. I suggested that someone help the barista to which the worlds sweetest cashier defensively said«I’m not trained on beverage.» That’s an issue for your manager, not me. She then kept my receipt. I wait more. When my drink finally arrived it’s clearly missing a shot of espresso. I put it in the trash. Learn from my $ 3.50 lesson: don’t come here. It’s worth the walk to a better place… pick a direction. I live upstairs and surely will never buy anything here.

I work a block away from Paris Baguette, but I waited a few weeks for them to work out any initial issues that come with opening a new business. Today, I finally decided to stop by since I wanted to eat something small for lunch. There is a self-service section where you grab a tray, line it with paper, and use tongs to pick out an array of goodies alongside the wall. Take your tray to the cashier, and that’s it. They also have drinks and food that you can order if the self-service stuff isn’t what you want. The cashier who rung up my items was very nice. While I wanted something tiny, I ended up buying five items: — Croissant Donut: This is their take on the infamous cronut. I’m glad that they properly drained it of all excess oil, so the texture was airy and light. I’m not too sure how I feel about the cream they filled it with, however. Not particularly remarkable. 3⁄5 — Canelé: I was expecting something different in terms of texture. The exterior was extremely hard and tasted more burnt beyond caramelization. The interior was supposed to have been custardy, but it just felt overly thick. Canelé are finicky to make though, so perhaps I just got one from a bad batch? Who knows. I would skip next time. 2⁄5 — Green Pea Pastry: YES. Delicious. I could probably eat 10 in one sitting. 5+++++/5 — Mini Walnut Cream Cheese Pastry: Meh. I’ve made better at home with store bought, pre-made crescent rolls. 1⁄5 — Sweet Rice Donut: I absolutely love anything with sweet rice flour because of the chewiness. Pair that texture with red bean paste filling, and I’m in heaven. This, however, was so dense and oily, that it was hard to really enjoy. The flavor was great though. 3.5÷5 Overall, what I tried today was just okay, with the exception of the Green Pea Pastry. I would definitely come back, if only for that!

Like I have said in the previous review, this location is such a refreshing layout compared to the majority of the locations I’ve been to in the South Bay. I like how simple it is. Not that many tables, but because it’s located in a business district, it’s kind of geared toward those order then gotta leave after my break or lunch type of folks. Service was excellent. I ordered a cake a week beforehand for my Christmas party today(12/24/2015). I came to pick it up today and the person who rung me up was, Anna! She has blue-ish streaks in her hair and is super friendly. She was patient because she let me pick out the color of candles and the amount I was going to grab. She even let me go to my business in the bathroom aka… dancing and taking a urination lmfao. I love Paris Baguette. It’s so well organized in terms of breads, pastries, layout, service, and just the menu as well. Everything is in order and it makes me happy to always come back wanting more but I’m unemployed at the moment soo… it’s a treat when I stop by! Cake looks lovely, can’t wait to taste it at the party with my family & friends! PS: Look for the sales associate, Rommoney W. She’s my best friend, but does an exquisite job at her job at keeping her shift and store in check.

Service — extremely slow; as I was picking out my pastries, the staff was loudly carrying on a conversation about a fellow coworker. When I got to the counter to pay, I was never acknowledged. There was only 1 cashier who was helping a customer. There were 2 employees just milling about. One was on the phone and the other one disappeared in the back. Finally an employee was asked to ring me up. Food & Drink — Ordered a «Hot Horchata» for $ 4.25(shocking). It’s supposed to be 12oz, but with all the foam, it felt more like 6oz. I would NOT recommend ordering this drink. While it was tasty, I felt the amount you get for the price was not worth it. Would much rather have gone to Starbucks for a much larger, fuller beverage for the same price. The pastries are nothing to be overly impressed about. Perhaps I was expecting too much. I’m glad I tried this place, because I was excited for a new establishment in the area, but not sure if I will return. Maybe I’ll give them more time to figure things out before trying again. To the owners: Please discuss with your staff that what they do/say and how they act in front of customers, does in fact reflect on the business as well.

The latest Paris Baguette is disappointing at this stage as they seem to stumble through the opening process. Im sure it will improve in time but for now, it’s a 2 star store. Service at the registers is painfully slow but the staff are friendly and apologetic. The wifi is so slow it wont load a page on under 3 minutes so is a waste of time. Food is ok if a little sweet for a savory pastry. The other thing to consider is it’s not the best part of town so you often get accosted for money near the front door. I’ll continue to patronise them for a while but without improvement it wont be forever.

Nice place. The décor is great, friendly service. THEYARESUUUUPERSTINGYWITHTHEFILLINGSINTHEIRPASTRIES. the salami croissant had two little circles of salami. The ham and cheese had a tiny amount of filling. My daughter loved the belgian waffle, she was stoked she didnt have to use syrup. The pastries are inexpensive and the crust is flaky and so good, just they lack in the filling department. The egg hotdog croissant thing was awesome and perfect. I’d like to come for dessert.

OMG!!! We needed this place in Oakland. I ordered $ 12.00 worth of pastries and a Christmas cake. I ate the mini walnut cream and it was so delicious. I can’t wait to try the other items I got. The friendliness of the staff was a plus.

Given that they’ve just opened, originally this would have been 3 stars. I showed up for both the soft opening(11:15am) and the grand opening(7:00am) both times the staff seemed busy and hectic. Probably because both times that I’ve arrived upon them opening they didn’t not yet have everything out. The good: the environment was warming and refreshing. The manager(Angel) was quick to help in areas that needed it. Pastries were good and the cakes looked great. The salted Carmel mocha I had was yummy. The seats were comfy and the place gave off a welcoming vibe. The bad: packaging was not all there, my coworker had purchased a green pea pastry and because of its wand like structure it broke in the process of them wrapping it in the plastic bag; they spin the opening of the bag causing the centripetal force to break the fragile pastry. Also when they placed the pastries into a box for me they lifted the sheet into the box and closed it in without arranging them nicely.(Could be they didn’t have gloves to arrange them because they were also handing cash) also the barista forgot my salted Carmel order and I had to go up there to remind them that I haven’t received my drink. In addition my coworker had asked where the cream was located; the barista insisted that the cream was with the stirrers and sugar until my coworker pointed out that it was actually behind the barista on the rear counter. This the barista brought it forward but we had to move the cream/milk to the«stirring station» ourselves. All in all, the front cashier staff looked less experienced and possibly could’ve have used some shadowing at another PB location(Berkeley) for another week before opening. I will write another review in two weeks, by then things should start feeling/looking natural. But they don’t have much competition seeing as café mad is now closed.

I was excited to see a new Paris Baguette open near work. After much delaying it is finally open. First thing that I noticed was that it is much smaller than other PB’s like Berkeley and Santa Clara. The layout is quite different and not the best because they don’t have a center island/counter to place many of the pastries/baked goods. The wooden trays/paper liners are tucked away in the corner and difficult to see at first. The paper liners that are supposed to cover the tray only cover 70% of the tray and thus is prone to sliding around. It is all self serve with 4 wooden cabinets with sliding glass doors. 2 of the cabinets were totally empty as they’re still baking most likely but you would think everything would be made already. Assorted custard, red bean, green tea breads for $ 1.50−1.60 each. Blueberry and pineapple filled pastries for $ 2.00. Most pastries you’ll find are 1.50−3.00 each. The cakes look nice but small and overpriced at over $ 21.00. Service is friendly but only 2 cashiers ringing people up and as seen at 7:30 a line can form easily. Currently, they have some promotions running like spend 5.00 and get a free small coffee. Spend 15.00 and get a free coffee mug and buy a cake and get a tumbler. Also, have a points card for points on each purpose but doesn’t say what you get for how many points. Overall, being the first day if business, it’s very clean, service is good but a bit lacking with assortment of pastries out for sale and some minor adjustments needed. 3.75 stars for now but rounded up. Will frequent and will update

Time: 4:17pm/59°F rain Purpose: Message came in yesterday morning for soft opening. Reply back, will be in late afternoon, but with rain in the forecast, I wasn’t even sure if I can make it back before closing. Ambiance: Located in a safe area during the day, but sketchy at night. Here on the corner of 14th/Jefferson street PB is the newest addition to downtown. This PB is not as big as the Berkeley location. No center island display and everything is encase inside a wall mounted sliding cabinet self help. Other area of place counter seating sits four, utensil station, faux leather bench seats, couple of lounge style chairs and high tables. Unfinished cement ceiling with pipes/ducts running through end to end, polished lacquer cement floor that has a mirror reflection. Seating capacity about 48 total and no sidewalk seating. Sidewalk permit license may be apply. Staff: A well diverse group of individuals. Some looks like they live in the immediate area. Not going into details, but lets just say after a month or so some will not be around, if attitude persist. Sometimes body language and attitude is a dead giveaway of a person will like their job or not. Either that or more training is needed. I can’t say because, it’ll violate Unilocal policy. Cleanliness: Grade A, immaculate for now, but not sure after couple of months being that the area its in. However, if workers are continuously watching it closely then, it may be well kept. We’re talking about the inside only. Eats/Drinks: Peanut roll and coffee(OTH). Coffee was just ok, not bold enough for my liking. Later was told, its brand America’s Best. This brand never sit well with me no matter what, but it was free so no complaints. Peanut crumb bread $ 1.50 was just average tasting. Your typical asian enriched white flour bun. No redeeming values and nothing nutritional about it. However, I like the crushed peanut embedded on top crown. Tasted like(bor lor bao) a word in cantonese meaning pineapple bun. Main Features: Daily baked pastries/buns/rolls. Products/Services: Bag baguette, grab n’ go salad/sando, macarons, whole cake, individual single serve slice, soup(changes daily), baguette pizza, hot/cold sandwich, smoothie, fresh squeezed juice, assorted bottle/can beverages, hot/cold coffee, brunch, espresso shot/soy milk($.50), kitchen open 8am-3pm, coffee by America’s Best/tea by Mighty Tea Leaf, listed calories. Punch Lines: Drool-worthy, harried staff, snappy attitude, budget-watchers, laid back, casual, free wi-fi, well-prepared, kitschy décor, light bites, zippy service, cheap eats, nothing out of the ordinary, kept its standards, enriched white flour, daily baked danish, minutes from city hall, accessible by all transportation, minutes from 980 freeway. Tradeoffs: Bakery with a alluring French theme. Nothing more than asian bakery, with average tasting sweets/desserts to captivate people’s interest. Final Thoughts: Just because it’s franchise own and operated, it still can’t compete with Chinatown prices. Only difference is Paris/French theme and Korean corporate franchise own. Items are just made differently to achieve a look that others don’t have. Put the same person to work at another bakery and you’ll get same result. Sugar, egg, water, butter, whipped cream are all the same. It’s just a matter of who’s working that day. I’ll come every now and then depending on what I feel like eating. One thing for sure though, not gonna pay $ 3 for a raisin twist when I can get one for cheaper at least half price.
