Small, friendly bakery. They do not accept cards, which luckily I had cash on me that evening. Their good stuff is behind the counter. It was a little pricey, roughly $ 1+ per piece of bread. They haven’t invented the wheel, pretty standard to have such prices IMO. I’ll probably find another place to get my bread, but if you’re close and have a craving it’s worth a stop.

Five stars, believe me when I tell u their hot chocolate is like no other u can get at any panaderia. Swear the pans were good, I really likes the custard filling and any other filling u can never go wrong. But the hot chocolate has to be pair with ur pan.

Maybe it was the time of day, but the variety here seemed a little lacking. Most panaderias I’ve been to have way more choices. Some of the items were located behind a glass counter so the place is not completely self serve. Ordered a few items and they were quite good. Raspberry, cream-filled cake was delicious. Items seemed fresh and prices were good.

This is now my panadería número uno! I don’t even know what you call what I had — maybe it was a chilindrina — but it was so fresh, light and absolutely delish! Everything else they had also looked so scrumptious that I wanted to buy one of everything!

Pena’s Bakery here opens 6 a.m. for early birds who need their mexican pastries early and can’t wait. unbranded coffee is also available in 2 thermos. lots of bakery items available in cases. none labeled, none priced. drill: grab an aluminum pan and an aluminum tong, use tong to grab pastries u want. place pastries on pan, bring pan to cashier. pay. eat. eats: 2 + 1 fruit filled one(1?)= 1.95 –very fresh tasting, no staleness –fruit obviously came in plastic buckets(same as pie filling) –all pastries tasted sweet, fresh. drips: –small shop, bakery kitchen seen in back. –fast checkout. –lots of selections, pans full, not just a few pieces.

I have bought big orders of Pan de Muerto(for 110 people) and have gotten exquisite bread for less than $ 1 a head! Have tried other things like the marble cake that is delish and whenever I crave a taste of authentic Mexican baked goods, I come here. Super inexpensive –please tip!- and it has really helpful staff. Long life, Pena’s Bakery!

The sheet of cheesecake ‘bread’ was very tasty after a meal. It’s a much lighter version of an heavy American cheesecake.

«En una panaderia hicieron fiesta los panes cada quien con su pareja le entraron bonito al baile Estaban todos bailando y hacia falta una p¡reja el bolillo y la empanada no bailaban por verguenza» Everytime I walk into Pena’s Bakery this song by Los Tucanes de Tijuana starts playing in my head and I can just imagine the bolillo dancing with the empanada«queibrala, queibrala» because they know they are the best in town! In all seriousness Pena’s bakery is the BEST pan dulce in life other than actual Pan Dulce from Mexico! No LIE hands down the most delicious, mouth watering, bad for your health PANDULCE! Some of my favorites are the empanadas de leche, mantecadas, azucaritas, galletas with pink candy, and conchitas of course! Expect to please at a low price! OH and cash only!

I wandered in here today, drawn it by the smell. It was awesome. I’m not sure what I bought(the lady working there didn’t speak English), but whatever it was it was pretty tasty. While I was choosing what to get, a guy came out from the back and gave me some sort of hot freshly backed molasses cookie thing for free. Pretty much the best, ever.

This is the Best Pan Mexicano on this side of the world. I never been anywhere else to buy my cuernito con crema! OMG it’s the bomb. Since I was little I used to come here every sunday night to get a gallon of milk and my mom’s usual 10 bucks worth of bread. Now that stayed fresh for the longest. It’s moist. it has flavor. During Dia De Los Muertos. They have the special pan dulce for the dead. It’s really beautiful. I love how the managed to keep the prices low for almost 10 years

Oh my goodness, just thinking about it makes me wanna drive to Oakland… do I have a sweet tooth or what?! This bakery has got the best Mexican bread in town, plus they carry a wide selection of cakes and other pastries. My favorites are their cupcakes, their pumpkin empanadas, and the white conchas, a shell-shaped sweet bread. I grew up eating these sweet delights with a glass of milk with ice cubes. Yeah, that’s the only way I can drink milk… anywho, I am sure if you try their empanadas you will be hooked as well. Watch out!
