Cool little bar attached to the Ask building. Happy hour pricing isn’t bad, and the atmosphere is fairly laid back. The spot is more of after work crowd and are not open super late, but a good spot for a post work drink.

Great spot to grab a delicious custom made cocktail after a soak at the local springs. Really lovely host, friendly energy all the way around here. I recommend the Tamarind Sour~ Yummy & well balanced. A little(very little) out of the way from downtown & the uptown locations, so it’s an after hours gem… Located on Clay St between 11th&12th. Residents of Domain Apartments, this ISYOUR local establishment!

The drinks look better online than what they taste! Ordered the mango chamoy margarita and the pear bubbly drink. They were ok. Didn’t think staff was super friendly. Bar is tiny. Kind of weird locafion

This is a cute, chill place. Had cocktails with a friend on a Friday night and got a really good Hendricks & Ginger beer. The place is very small… but intimate. Bar fits 8 – 10. There are a few tables(4) and out door seating. 1 bathroom for everyone. Note: the Bar(not the restaurant) is on Clay between 11th&12th St/Ave.

Great drink menu. Had the pear 75 it was great. Bar tender was amazing. Great ambiance and service. Wish it was a little bigger but great space for a drink with a friend and decent prices.

I really liked this place a lot… it’s small, but very friendly and by saying it’s «very friendly», I’m not using any type of code word… it’s very friendly to pretty much anyone. The spirit selection was top notch, but they might as well carry Jack Daniels because at least three people asked for it during the brief time I was there… This would be a great place to bring a date or your mom… even your dad…

Solid cocktail bar with an extensive menu of offerings. Although it might seem small from the outside, there’s quite a bit of room to seat yourself both inside and outside. The bartenders are attentive and courteous, and while there are sports screens in the restaurant, the clientele is open and engaging enough so that you can fit in and have a good time no matter what team it is you’re rooting for. Well, perhaps except if you’re not rooting for the hometown teams. ;) Really the only bad thing about this bar is that it’s not open on weekends. Would go there more frequently if it was.

I love coming here on Wednesday nights for the stand-up comedy. Classy place to catch the game after work. Great atmosphere, cool staff. Has everything I’m looking for in bar. Nice patio area, with heat lamps.

I went here with a bunch of coworkers recently and it was a terrible experience! The place is really small and super crowded. There was only 1 bartender working and despite advertisement to the contrary, there was no beer on tap. Because there was no beer on tap, we were unable to get the happy hour special. The bartender wanted to charge us $ 5 for a bottled or canned beer even though the beer they had was crap(Pabst, Corona, etc.)! There wasn’t enough room for all of the patrons so my group go pushed out onto the sidewalk!

Nearly walked right by this place, but it turns out they have awesome cocktails! First, I had the Penelope, a tequila cocktail with fresh beet juice in it. The ironic hipster in me was very pleased. Second, I had the hilariously-named«Jali Berry,» a gin cocktail with blackberries and jalapeño in it. Great concept and amazing execution — I asked the bartender to make it extra spicy, and it was everything I could have wished for.

Wow, I’ve never had drinks this good. I literally drank 3 incredibly tasty drinks over the course of 2 hours… talking with Johnny the bartender and my friends and I got the most pleasant, euphoric buzz I’ve had since I was 15… and snuck my parents gin to my room… only to refill half their bottle with water. Super high end drinks at a reasonable price, insanely cool service… Johnny was telling jokes and making us all laugh. It’s not crowded, so no wait to order. 100% the best drinks in the Bay Area. I go out a lot and can honestly say that this place and The Battery in SF are the two best drinks.

Beets in a cocktail? Who would have thought? Not me, but once I had it, I was sold — best cocktail I’ve had in a very long time(tequila, fresh beets, apples, pears, and lime juice). Penelope has created a way to get your fruits, vegetables and happy hour buzz, all in one place! A few other personal favorites are: Chica Fresa: bourbon, strawberry, sweet vermouth, baked apple bitters, lime Los Pepinos del Amor: tequila, cucumbers, lime, habanero tequila, spiced salt rim And of course, the: Blackberry Margarita: tequila, fresh blackberries, lime Not to mention, it has a very homey neighborhood feel; the patrons actually talk to each other, and the bartenders treat you like a bff. And perhaps the best kept secret — Wednesday is comedy/open mic night, which is always a blast!

Great bar close to downtown. Right below ASK! Tried the Chamangarita. Very tasty! Super nice bartender, happily encouraging patrons to try cocktails.

Great happy hour!!! Atmosphere is amazing! A group of us found this bar to pre drink before dinner and the playoffs. The place has outside seating with heat lamps, and plentiful seats at the bar inside. The happy hour menu is great and they have a big selection of liquor, beer, and wine. The service is exceptional and fun all around to go in for a drink or two… or maybe three.

Although I miss the salmon toasts and beer on tap, this is still my favorite watering hole in Oakland!!! Drinks: Good. Staff: The best. I’m a forever customer. :)

We were looking for something in the City Center area that wasn’t a dive bar and this was perfect! Happy hour is from 4 – 6 pm and it’s the perfect stop for Thirsty Thursday because their specialty cocktails are actually $ 2 off! Score! We came here after work and there were already a few couples at the bar when we entered(it’s a very intimate bar), so we grabbed a seat at one of the tables to the side. The drinks were amazing. We tried three of them, but if you’re only having one I would definitely recommend La Kristita! We liked it because of how sweet it was(: The interior is nicely decorated and it’s just a pleasant establishment that’s not too pretentious. Atmosphere is very pleasant and I would recommend taking a date here for a drink! Would definitely recommend stopping by if you’re around the city center!

I wanted to try this bar because I heard the bartender looked like a Latino Stephen Dorff. I mean c’mon! I walked in and asked for a mojito and got a flat out«No», with no explanation given. That sort of put me off, but the bartender kept calling me «Boss», so I had a little flutter in the chonies. We settled on Fernet and King Cobra and things were okay, until some sort of youth baseball umpire came in spouting nonsense and non-sequiturs. He basically ruined the evening. On a good note, there was a older multi-cultural group, who were quite raucous and were playing an elaborate dice game. If it wasn’t for them, I would have scored this a big fat ZERO. If this place had pizza rolls, I might bump it up a star.

A small intimate bar with just a handful of high tables in addition to the bar seating. Our bartender, Dan, was genuine and awesome, taking great care of me and my friend from start to finish. For the cocktails, the signature selection is quite extensive with a number of more unique concoctions very much worth exploring. Being a fan of the brown stuff, I thoroughly enjoyed my Manhattan Project made with slight variations on all the classic Manhattan components and a base of Lexington bourbon. And on top of all this, we happened to drop in on a stand-up comedy night that was absolutely hilarious. Highly recommended for quality drinks and a fun experience in uptown Oakland for sure.
