I think it’s awesome that they make your slice when you order. Only have been there once but I’ll be back. :)

I’m so sad to see you go. I’ll remember the years of great pizza instead of the bad service that happened at the end. Why won’t you answer my call? At first I thought you were just too busy, taking orders from other customers. Now I realize that you no longer exist :(Please pick up. Say it isn’t so.

Oh Pazza, I wish you had gone on top. One week, at some point over the winter, the place went from a great joint to grab quick eats to a place with service and pizza that did little to endear it to even regulars. Why they would go to crap right as a new pizza place established itself in the area? Before they closed, Pizza Pazza seemed a lot like another neighborhood institution with the same initials, and comparisons to Purple Pepper are NEVER a good thing. It’s sad when things can’t end as gracefully as they begin, so hopefully Pazza will come back, if not just temporarily to preserve their good name. One star for the shite customer service that apparently isn’t an isolated incident, and one star for hope.

I loved Pizza Pazza! Only pizza I could eat and not feel bloated. Why did it close?

Probably my favorite single slice to order joint. Is the service slow, kinda, but it’s not a big deal because the pizza is great. Haven’t seen the place open in a while though…

Going downhill. Something has changed at Pizza Pazza on Piedmont, sometime in the last year or so. Taste and quality of pizza has declined, as has their level of service. Is there a new owner? Current owner just phoning it in? — The dough they are(were?) famous for is generally flavorless — In person service lacking, don’t feel as welcomed — Delivery service was decent and fast enough, but can’t tell this time since they aren’t answering their phone. At 5:40 pm on a weeknight. Time to check out Slicers, which I just learned about here on Unilocal

Good quality ingredients but the dough could use a little work. It wasn’t salted enough or at all. Not enough yeast was used or it wasn’t rested enough to rise properly. I would however give this place another try in the future.

Anyone know what happened to this place? It’s been closed for weeks. And no sign up or anything explaining if they’re closed for good or just a while. I love/loved the slices here. Made to order! And they’d make my slices without cheese which is really hard to find. I hope they’re not closed for good!

Great pizza by the pie(not so much by the slice) cooked to perfection and with a delectable cornmeal crust. My biggest complaint with this place is you can never reach them. More than half the time I call nobody answers. It just rings and rings and rings. Once I ordered online through Unilocal, only to be called 2 hours later and told that the online order never went through because nobody at Pizza Pazza was responding. In closing: great pizza, but very inconsistent service.

Little old dude behind the counter is onnit! Pizza Pazza is primo. They make their own dough! Good luck finding that anywhere else. Check out the tchotskis while waiting for yr slices, they take a couple minutes because they’re not under a crusty heat lamp. As close to New York style as you can get in Oakland, Almost as good as Arinell’s.

I’ve been coming here for many years but after last night’s experience, I’ll NEVER return again and will tell everyone not to either. They used to have young kids that worked here but now they have a complete A$$wipe working the front of house and slackers in the back. But the kids in back are at least not rude pricks. The older(late 30s?) balding guy that works the register never makes eye contact, doesn’t say thank you or even hello. I fact he rushes costumes and has the worst attitude ever. Just plain out RUDE! I waited 25 minutes for two simple slices. And when I got them they were SO small and just mediocre tasting. My advice is fire your shitty employee because he is bringing down your business. Even the guy in line behind me received his attitude, it’s a pathetic way to run a business. Wake up! Your horrible costumer service turns all your costumers away way more than your crusty pizza.

First and last time I will ever order pizza from this establishment. I ordered a pizza tonight and the young man on the other line said twenty-five minutes. When I arrived thirty-five minutes later no pizza. I feel they gave my pizza away or did not care to make my pizza. There were four young men. I’m pregnant and have a five year old at home. I’d be concerned if I owned the place. I would not order from this place because, you may not get a pizza:)

IF I COULDGIVE A ZERO I WOULD. The manager doesn’t want to take any responsibility and has ZERO customer service skills. Yelled at me and my kiddos then got angry at the door bc I asked a question. Who does that. Talk about making us feel threatened and uncomfortable. Pizza was cold and nasty

After ordering from this place for delivery after work on several occasions, it’s time for me to write a swan song to one of the more underappreciated gourmet pizza joints in the East Bay. I am a gluten-free pizza eater, so I don’t know what the wheat-eating experience is like, but the toppings, cheese, and sauce on these pizzas are always in perfect proportion to make for a satisfying meal without being too heavy. Some complain about the price: well, you get what you pay for. These are top-notch toppings and ingredients. Now, it’s not anything I would write home about either. The presentation leaves something to be desired, and I feel like there could be more salt or herbs to liven the flavor — but that’s just a matter of taste. All in all a solid East Bay pizza experience, and I would recommend it to anyone. It’s pizza. How can you go wrong?

something has changed. is it me or is it pizza pazza? these are the existential questions we ask ourselves in life’s puzzling pizza pazza moments. i dunno, i went in with my boyfriend and ordered a slice. it took like 20 minutes to make 2 slices. it’d been awhile since i’d been there, and i know they are slow but this was *really* slow. we take the pizza home and just ugh… i couldn’t even finish my slice, it was that off-putting. i can’t even tell you what it was. something just tasted off, kind of bitter. maybe it was in the sauce? maybe it was just a fluke? i will probably never know because i probably won’t be back anytime soon.

Whether or not you like this place will depend entirely on your expectations around what the pizza consumption experience should be like. If you’re in the camp that pizza should be quick, and you’re satisfied with eating a slice of reheated pie where you don’t get to choose the toppings, then you will be disappointed. If you like complete control over the toppings that go on your slice(and want those toppings in abundance), enjoy your slice fresh baked and piping hot, and are willing to wait a little while, then pizza pazza will deliver. Not only do you get exactly what you want, but the pizza here is damn tasty. I lived in NYC for a while and went on a quest to find the best pizza. I had a lot of great pizza on that quest, and this place would hold its own against some of the better pizza joints I found back east. If you’ve got the time, this place is definitely worth the wait.

This place makes good pizza. My wife and I got a couple slices after walking around Piedmont Avenue. She daintily ate a mushroom slice while I snarfed down a mushroom spinach slice. The table we sat at was weird, it was a two seater, but really long. I slid my beer over to my wife when she wanted a sip, then she slid it back to me. The pizza had a ton of thinly sliced mushrooms on it. My slice also had a bunch of spinach awesomeness. The crust was crispy, but not burned. Solid pizza West Coast pizza pie.

I like the ambience. I tried the salad bar. Reminds me of the salad bar at shakey’s pizza. that is not very good. Couldn’t eat the potato salad. Meager ingredients. I ordered ham and pineapple slice. nothing good about it. Frozen pizza wouldve been better. Very thin layer of tomato sauce, tasted like out of a can tomato paste. Ham from a lunch meat package. Pineapples from a can. Just nothing good about it. To fill up, I went home and ate Chef Boyardee.

Short story: My slice with mushrooms, goat cheese, and sun dried tomatoes was good, but mostly because these are my favorite ingredients. The crust was was very crispy and half of my sun dried tomatoes were burnt to a crisp(my slice was baked two or three times?). The bf’s meat lover’s slice was good; had a ton of meat items on it. Long story: I’ve always wanted to try this place, passing by many times, mainly because I wanted to say AH-pizza-pazza! in an offensive Italian cartoon character way. I had time to kill while waiting for the bf to get off work, and so I popped in for some pizza to go. I placed my order, sat down on the bench, and waited a real 30 minutes before my slices were ready. I’m not sure exactly how it works there but my guess is that they make cheese pizzas first, par bake them, and when someone orders individual slices with specific toppings, they assemble them, and finish cooking them in the oven. WHOKNEW this process would take so long. It didn’t seem particularly busy for a weds afternoon but maybe it’s a place where most people phone-in first? It took even longer for me because they made my slice with garlic instead of goat cheese(they read the ticket wrong), and so my slice got baked more than once… which made it crispy and dry, and burnt my sundried tomatoes(so sad…) With all that said though, the pizza was pretty decent while it was warm and fresh, and the price per slice is reasonable given how one slice filled me up. I think I’d still make my way to Arizmendi or Cheeseboard for pizza cravings. Pizza is supposed to be fast!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for PIZZA! This place is scrumptious! If you ever need a pizza-fix, this is the place to hit up. The pizza always comes out piping hot! I love that you can make your own slice, add any additional toppings or pick from their menu. There is so much to choose from — you’re bound to find something you like. They even have a salad bar… which I’m not too attracted to since I see it vacant most of the time. Overall, every time I’m here, I leave satisfied. They have a few seats outdoor for some sunshine and plenty of indoor seating. I’ll be back on my next pizza craving.
