Do not eat at this place. Got chicken there Thursday and was in the emergency room for food poisoning on Friday. The chicken was not cooked throughly. I could not tell from all of the fried skin around it. I will never be back to this place and probably no Popeyes ever.

There’s not much to say about Popeye’s that y’all don’t already know — the folks who work here are pretty friendly and laid back and I appreciate that they apologize when they don’t have items or when there is going to be a wait longer than 2 minutes.

It’s Popeyes — it’s fast food. It’s great for when you just want to eat fried things.
Pros:
— my food is always hot. Even if there are fries hanging out in the bin or whatever, they’ll take a few minutes to give me the fresh ones. I’m okay with that.
— staff is friendly enough
— cheap
— The spicy chicken strips are soooo good. They’re a pretty decent size, too.
Cons:
— no place to sit
— sometimes they’re randomly closed
— You have to check your order. I’ve gotten the wrong thing a few times.
— Literally the worst mac and cheese I’ve had in memory.

This location earns an A+ in my book, every time I stop by here;the staff members are always friendly and always quick with my order. Their quality of food is pretty good, the chicken is always cooked perfectly outside and moist and tender inside. Even though it can get very busy here during lunch time, Tuesday is definitely the best day to come here in my opinion, where else do you know that you can get 2 pieces of chicken and a biscuit for $ 1.99? Just remember, good things come to those who wait :)

Not good at all!!! Worst service! the Mgr or what ever she is, seems upset we go and actually buy from them! she is always rude, speaks Spanish to her co-​workers about the customers, (She must think others do no understand!) Well Guess what we know what you are saying about us!
Food is not good. come on for fast food? Had way better at other Fast food places.

There is only outdoor seating and many people are walking past the place as it is in the urban area of central Oakland. Bear that in mind if you want to bring a family, as there are only a few seats and the wind might blow your stuff away. There are no toilets for customers here.
The quality of the food is good, the chicken was cooked properly and the biscuits tasted just right, the food was not served too cold.
The staff were not easy to understand but seemed friendly and normal. The service was suitably fast. The place seemed clean overall, no problems.

This Popeye’s was quick and friendly. The food we received didn’t seem to be sitting under a heating lamp, so that was a bonus. The chicken was nice and crispy and the biscuits were delicious. It also all stayed warm on the 6 – 7 minute walk home!

Can’t go wrong with their chicken nuggets and cajun fries… Yuuuuum! The only thing that I don’t like about this place is the waiting time. And when you’re waiting for food, it’s so awkward. Haha! Sometimes, people who came after you get called first and you’re like, «Uhm… Where’s my food?» And then there’s the weird glances at the cashier hoping that she’ll call you next. Or maybe that’s just me! Haha! They definitely have good deals though. Look up coupons from their website for this specific location! They also have Popeye’s Tuesdays when you can get two pieces of chicken (leg and thigh) for $ 2.00. Not a fan of their fried chicken though. Nevertheless, sometimes you just crave «fast food» but going to this place will satiate that craving, you just have to be willing to wait!

This place never fails to disappoint. Website AND says OPEN hours 10 to 4 pm on saturday. Yet you visit at 330 pm and its closed. This isnt the first time this has happened. 7÷4÷15 3:30 i’ve even saved a photo for corporate to prove it!

Fried chicken. Though it’s might be on the one side of the health scale, sometimes you just have a craving for it, especially knowing you can pay $ 1.69 for a 2 piece leg and thigh order on Tuesdays.
After work and passing by the Popeye’s in the Oakland City Center, there is usually a waiting line of about 10 deep on Tuesdays. If that line is short, I get in that line to satisfy that fried chicken craving. The workers are friendly and efficient in taking and processing the orders. They even have two cashiers taking orders.
With a choice of either mild or spicy, their chicken has a crispy battered skin and the meat is moist. I do prefer Popeye’s over KFC. I guess if that line is short on Tuesdays, I’ll be fulfilling my cravings more often.

I never have had a bad meal at this spot. The food is always hot. The Tuesday 2 chicken meal deal is a measley $ 1.49. Yummy! Just beware of the long lines on Tuesday’s.

the food is good, just make sure you check your food. the cashiers are too busy socializing to get your order right… is what I would’ve said a couple months ago but now they have a way better staff that are professional. Anyways Popeyes always taste the same to me where ever I go. I love their red beans and rice and biscuits especially when I was pregnant lol.

I went here today for a poeboy. just got home and they forgot my side and biscuit. really upset right now. I probably won’t be back. this wasn’t even my original choice of food, but since it was close to where I was, I thought i would stop in. I’m not even hungry for it.

I’ll bet it leads you here. Their tuesday deal is so great that I’ve seen at least one coworker come back to the office with a bag.
Fried Chicken in a craving that quickly spreads. It’s not the healthiest option however it does bring a certain comfort that tugs at you like a magnet. Before you know it, you are walking with the rest of them to line up.
Come early though because the line is through the door. Okay to be fair it doesn’t take that much to create a line out the door for this little whole in the wall at Civic Center. BUT! On a tuesday, their line is solid. As soon as one gets their food another two line up. Chicken crazy.
Word to your mother.

This has to be the slowest Popeye’s I’ve ever been to and they don’t even have a drive through! No excuses. Two customers before me was asking a ton of questions so I think, in total, I waited at least 15 minutes to get my order in. (I’m a pretty patient person when I’m not in a hurry.) During that 15 minutes of waiting at least 3 other customers got in line after me. And during this whole time no manager or additional worker came out to take orders even though there was another open register (there’s 2 total). It’s also insanely hot in there, I don’t know how they can stand to work in there for the whole day. But, I still come sometimes and endure the long wait just for some of their delicious mashed potato! It’s pretty darn good.

Whenever I feel like eating bad or am just having a bad day at work, I come to Popeye’s. 2 Piece Tuesdays is such a great deal, but you want to get there before it opens or you’ll be waiting in line for awhile. I usually like getting anything that has a biscuit. Mmm, biscuits.
