Our lunch was catered by Powered by Pork and it was so tasty! I love the unique flavor of the salad they had with bamboo shoots and bean sprouts. The meats in the tacos were also great especially the pork belly! They got the flavor pairings down cause it wasn’t just the meats that made it great but the ingredients as a whole to make the taco. I would definitely recommend them and I hope they come back again cause I definitely want more. Thanks for coming!

This place caters dinner at my job fairly often and they’re always one of the best places we get food from. Super friendly staff and amazing taco combinations. I’m a sucker for Pork Belly anything, but their other meats are just as delicious. They also mentioned they’re just about to get their Food Truck up and running, so for those that can’t go the catering route, look for their truck in the near future. You won’t be disappointed.

Just catered a company lunch with these guys — Gavin and Justin were extremely professional and courteous. We had carnitas, pork belly, chicken and vegetarian tacos and they were prepared on-site and delicious. I loved their salad too — they had a slightly spicy dressing and it was great. If you see their food truck definitely stop and grab a couple of tacos. I highly recommend them for catering.

Tacos tacos in my tummy me so hungee me so hungee. These tacos are absolutely lish, which is short for delish, which is short for delicious. You get the point. The combination of pork meat, seasonings, sauces, lime, salsa(and I can’t ignore Justin’s stallion-like features) make me want more. Like Justin’s sense of humor and the powered by pork environment, Justin’s tacos are insatiable. Try to eat only one. I dare you.

These tacos are amazing. I love the concept, the flavors, everything. The pork belly and duck confit are outstanding. Check Powered by Pork out, you won’t be disappointed! I guarantee it!

Woohoo! I’m glad Justin stopped by our office to promote his business. My company is becoming a regular! When we bring him in for catering, it’s like we are getting a personal chef to cook for our office! He brings all the ingredients to make the tacos and heats them up during lunch time, sets them on trays for people to grab and keeps refreshing the trays as the tacos are being eaten. He has a very good selection and even accommodates our large population of vegetarians. I’ve tried pretty much all the tacos and all area really good! Meats are always cooked well and to my surprise(as a huge meat eater) the vegetarian options are really good! I wish there was a tad more flavor on some of the meats, but overall, they’re really good. Overall, I would totally recommend Powered by Pork for catering. Justin is really chill to work with and him and his team sets up, refills empty taco trays and makes sure every piece of trash is cleaned up before they leave!

Food is as bad as the name. Tried their catering service and regret every penny of it. Recommend that no one waste their money on this overprice food that is neither Mexican nor Vietnamese. Still cringing on the thought of their food, name & logo.

If it weren’t illegal, I would have long ago kidnapped Justin L. to be my personal chef for a regular supply of delicious, delicious tacos! I’m sure the Stockholm syndrome would kick in eventually, and I would totally let him watch anything on HBO in between meals and choose the daily Spotify playlist. #worthit Seriously though, Justin is an excellent chef! I’ve sampled almost all of his taco menu(the carnitas and pork belly are my favs, because pork) and a number of non-taco items(he makes excellent ramen, as well!). Not only are the meats cooked to perfection, the toppings and sauces he uses are creative and tasty! I also hired him to cater our first annual Lube Rasslin’ Showdown last year — really great deal! He showed up early, had everything set up just as the challengers arrived, and dished out unlimited tacos for all. Everyone loved them! Lucky for him, too, otherwise he might have been tossed into the kiddie pool. You don’t mess with rasslers and their tacos. Thanks again, Justin! :)

Powered by Pork catered our daughter’s first birthday party last weekend. Justin came by on time, set up everything and served lunch to 40 of our families and friends. No complains at all, everyone loved their food! I would highly recommend them to cater your party/office lunch.

I would love to support a small business, but this food just does not taste good, and is very overpriced for what you get. I tried it with a friend. We have a lot of eating and cultural experience between us, ordered several different dishes, and were uniformly disappointed. Yes it’s very hip and cool, but for Mexican or Vietnamese or other ethnic food, this is not in the same league as an «authentic» restaurant, and for 2−3X the price. Total bummer. The second star is for the hipness factor.

Justin came by our office to show us his what PbP is about. Really tasty and an awesome concept I am between a 4 and 5 star on Powered by Pork. The pork belly is something else. It looks like it is going to be chewy, but it is prepared so it literally melts in your mouth. You kind of have to try it yourself. I can’t really think of an equivalent food experience. For folks looking for something different for the office catered lunch, PbP’s cook-to-order tacos will not disappoint. Be sure to try the pork belly tacos if pork is a go on your diet. Thanks for the sampler Justin. Crossing my fingers for a burrito offering.

Very serious tacos being delivered on this bicycle cart. I remember when someone stole his cart and we donated to bring it back online! THETASTIESTTACOS because the guy keeps his station clean, prepped nicely(onions, salsa, the whole trimmings) are neatly placed. Thank you Justin(Powered by Pork)!

Justin is theeeee best. My friends and I frequent Thalassa pretty often, and he’s outside on Thursday nights. I usually go for the carnitas, and last night tried the pork belly which was to die for. Grab a friend and order 5 tacos for $ 10, not bad for a food truck/cart. He also has vegan/vegetarian options and provides all sorts of yummy sauces and toppings for the tacos. Last night he made a mustard green & cilantro chimichurri type of sauce that was absolutely delicious. Also, he is one of the chillest people I’ve met. Also, he does catering! If I still worked in an office I’d be all over it.

Sweet baby Jesus, Justin can do no wrong. I have had his delicious tacos on several occasions(dinner party and office catering). Even the vegetarian items were absolutely incredible! Adding this to my Must Eat SF list.

Alright… to preface this review, I want to say the following: I am coming out of the woodwork after a damn new 2-year hiatus to explain to the Unilocal community the glory that are Powered by Pork’s heavenly blessed tacos. ‘Murrica! With the above statement, you are probably screaming, «SHILL!» but I caution you against such a claim. The proprietor, Justin, has been feeding me tacos for around a year now off and on, usually on Second Saturday’s in Sacramento right outside good ol’ Golden Bear. I’ve got to say that these are some of the best street tacos around. Justin rolls some seasonal tacos into the mix of his standard fare so, when the duck taco arrives, be prepared for orgasm-rivaling-pleasure-impulses coursing through your skull. His carnitas are pretty world-famous, and I love them beyond words. I don’t think I’ve had dry carnitas from him, and I usually eat at least 4 per sitting. I have tried everything under the sun provided by PbP, but I ALWAYS go back to the carnitas. The lengua tends to be pretty amazing as well, and my girlfriend is a fiend for the pork belly. He rarely has any two tacos that taste similar, and exhibits flavors from around the globe — namely Mexico and Asia. Not only does this guy put the effort and caring into the preparation of the meats that he puts into his tacos — he puts a lot of thought into the ancillary ingredients, including shaved carrot, daikon, peanuts, onion, cilantro, etc etc that really pulls the whole thing together. On top of that, he makes custom sauces to slather inside your tacos — the glue, if you will. I don’t know exactly what is in the brown Asian inspired sauce, but it is my favorite, bar none.(And of course, he has the obligatory bottle of sriracha). Food aside, Justin is a pretty cool dude that can strike up a good conversation out of thin air, and captivate a whole group of drunk ass bros, hipsters, ghetto peeps, or [insert your societal subgroup here]. So take some time after a long night of partying, order a round of tacos(or 7), and sit on the curb near his cart. When you’re done, you may just want to lick the drippings that have fallen in the gutter.

The tacos @ Powered by Pork are very tasty, you will not regret the experience. I have tried the pork belly, carnitas, and lengua tacos. All 3 were very tasty, my favorite is the pork belly. It’s his signature taco, and it is well worth the money. I recommend you get the 5 for $ 10 and share w a friend. Perfect midnight snack, and conveniently located outside Thalassa on Thurs. nights. The peanut and anchovie toppings with the homemade Sirracha sauce are totally legit, try this place out soon!

Tried out three different tacos that he offers. The carnitas was tasty but a bit dry. The beef was in a curry-like sauce. Pretty different. Where it’s at is the pork belly. Juicy and flavorful. Totally legit. You can’t go wrong with the others but go for the pork belly. It’s got peanuts and anchovies on top so if you’re not down with that then let the guy know. Can be a bit messy so be careful. Sometimes there are not enough napkins.

parked on the sidewalk by the curb, «powered by pork» was a surprise vender(others present at or near) @art murmur(8⁄3). just their sign visible. no menu. no pricing. had to ask. only guy on duty eats: 2/$ 5 or 5/$ 10 minitacos(pork belly, lengua, braised pork, brasied beef? –nice amount of fresh tasting meat given –garnised with peanuts, sliced onions, sliced carrots. no salsa. kind of dry –maybe rushed service cuz only person on duty… 3.5 stars
