For alterations Shoe City is a good deal. May, the seamstress is friendly and does good work for a reasonable price. Fix the zipper on a pair of jeans $ 5. Repair a pocket $ 4. Good work and good prices. I like Shoe City for the sewing service and alterations.

the right window read: «travel service» upon entering the shop, the travel agency desk is on the right, the shoes(mostly china made) are in the center and left. more dress shoe type. i saw few athletic shoes that were prevalent during it’s opening. the rest of the store had dresses, skirts, women’s cheongsam(long dress) and fashion accessories. about this time, i noticed a woman in the far right corner who never got up from her seat to find out what i wanted. she obviously figured the petite sizes she was selling wouldn’t fit my robust figure.

this place is fine. The price is really good, especially the converse’s. There’s also a lot to choose from for dress shoes, slip resistant shoes, and dance shoes. They also have a lot of woman’s clothing.

I saw the words SHOECITY, and like the Manchurian Candidate snapped into action by the Queen of Diamonds, I was a shoewhore automaton. In my imagination, Shoe City was a wonderful, dreamy place full of Manolos, Louboutins, and Viviers in all colors, sizes, and vintages… and most importantly, at Chinatown prices. I mean, there are as many fake designer bags hanging from arms as there are roast ducks in restaurant windows; I’m surprised the Chinese knockoff makers haven’t stepped into the world of fake designer shoes. In reality, this Shoe City is a city of ugly Morlock shoes. I was sad. The fashions here are ok, though, if you’re a Chinatown chic girl. But please, take me down to a shoe city where the shoes are actually pretty!
