My #Oakland reviews for #NASPAWRC #shoplocal #oaklandloveit I came here because Christine said they had infinity scarves. Because I’m obsessed with scarves, I went! I was not disappointed. If I had more money I would have bought more scarves, but I stuck to just getting one(this trip)! This store is small and all the clothes and accessories are made by local Oakland artists and vendors(or relatives — since the scarves are made by the store owners mom!) I love supporting local shops and Oakland is full of them! Swing by this cute retail shop… Aliyah is awesome and so friendly!

If you want to see local Oakland artists this is a great place to go. Also one of the few places to get Tom’s. They are dedicated to small/local artists as well as mission driven brands. The owners are super nice! Great events too. Yay!

The new location for this concept shop is excellent. It’s a local favorite, and is now situated right next to Betti Ono Gallery, just a block from 12th Street BART. In fact, Show & Tell and Betti Ono Gallery are separated by a set of interior double-doors, allowing foot traffic to flow back and forth between the shop and the gallery. Their grand re-opening was tonight! To celebrate, they had a 20% off sale on everything in the entire store. Plus, they were giving away a door prize that turned out to be a cute t-shirt emblazoned with Show & Tell. When you walk into the shop, there is a chalkboard wall on the left side, where you can write your congrats in chalk :) On the right side of the entrance you’ll find lovely greeting cards from Oakland-based artists. Each section of apparel and footwear, which can be found on the perimeter of the store, is separated by vendor, with the name of the designer and where it was made neatly typed on cardstock. In the middle of the store there is display case with unique jewelry such as earrings and bracelets. Also in the center of the store are beautiful, one-of-a-kind, handmade scarves made by Alyah’s mother in North Carolina! If you also like quilts by Alyah’s mother, you can find those in the rear of the store. Owners, Alyah and Nicole, continue their tradition of supporting local designers and sustainable vendors at their new location. 80% of the products that they carry are from California, with the vast majority of products from Northern California. The other 20% of products are sourced from sustainable vendors across the globe. They are still stocked with the same goodies — unique apparel, clothing, shoes, and accessories — things that you wouldn’t find anywhere else. Great examples: caps from Extra Proper, baby clothes from Ana Apple, footwear from Freewaters, and jewelry from Left Coast Designs. Support local! Shop local!
