It’s a subway, you’ll get what you expect. Been here a few times. Once they were out of spinach. But most recently and the reason for the 1 star rating is because they wouldn’t accept my subway coupon.

I never thought I would be reviewing a subway, but here we go… It’s as good as any other subway. Sandwiches are fresh and there is seating available. Service is also fine. –1 Star: The caging protecting the employees screams ghetto. There are small windows available to speak to the employees. –1 Star: Due to the caging, Apple Pay is not available as you need to pass your credit card through a maze of the caging. Overall, it’s disappointing the caging is needed, but I’m sure it wasn’t their first choice. Perhaps as Oakland gentrifies, this can be removed. The Uptown apartments(very nice) are right across, so this should help.

I love Subway! This one is close to my business so I frequent this one. The lady that is mainly here all the time is not stingy with the ingredients. She hooks it up. Unfortunately this is the only subway I’ve seen that has bullet proof glass but hey… it’s in that sketchy part of uptown

Some of the worst service I have ever received in my entire life. I walk in to an empty store, and it takes them 10 minutes to even start my order. Then first thing they only had 3 different breads available. Not a good start. Then after that I had to repeat myself several times to the employee cause they couldn’t hear me through the bullet proof glass. On top of it she literally put 4 pickles on my footlong sandwich. They were so stingy with all of the ingredients. I only go here cause everything is closed and I’m broke.

I went here for lunch yesterday(I was going to visit the other location in the area, but my plans suddenly changed). There was only 1 customer ahead of me. It’s nice and clean inside. The seating capacity is only 11(for some reason, one table only has 3 chairs), but there’s still some room to move around. : I had to take the picture from across the street. I was irritated that so many people from work were around(I actually muttered for one of them to get out of the way). While inside, I briefly greeted a woman who keeps asking me when I’m going to give my son a sibling(she knows that it annoys me, yet keeps bringing it up). 2 employees were around. They both helped me(I’m special in a Justin Bieber sort of way). The counter is encased with bulletproof glass. You have to talk through some openings, and your food will be handed to you through one, as well as your change. It’s pretty weird, and I had flashbacks to when I did time at San Quentin. o_O I had to wait a few minutes for my food(I knew that I would have time to sit down and relax). It was awkward pronouncing Flatizzas, and they’re so new that the employee who served me was a bit confused as to what I wanted. I had to point to the menu, do a little dance, and gesture to my flat chest. As I’ll explain in a moment, the 2 for $ 5 deal is ideal(Flatizzas are normally $ 3.50 each). This woman kept looking around. She was a bit nosy(I think she noticed that I had a camera, but I sure as hell wasn’t going to take a picture of her). The other employee served as my cashier. She was friendly enough, but she struggled to give me my change(she couldn’t work the register well). My receipt is also missing some info(I partly know this because I picked up a receipt that was left lying on the counter for comparison purposes). I got a free breakfast sandwich here a few years ago. It was pretty good, and the employees worked quickly(as you can imagine, there was a long line). I didn’t quite get what I wanted(my «choice» was a popular one), but I’m not going to complain given that my sandwich was free. Some Prices: Veggie Delite(6″): $ 3.50. Soft Drink(21 oz.): $ 2.25. A combo is $ 6.27 with tax(you receive a bag of chips for free). : White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookie: 8.5÷10. I knew that I was going to be pleased(my wife and I are pretty familiar with Subway cookies). The cookies are soft and contain a good number of nuts(like my household). Cookies are $.60 each(you save if you buy 3 or more). I don’t know if it was a mistake, but I was only charged sales tax on my Flatizzas. Raspberry Cheesecake Cookies are available for a limited time. They look a bit odd, but are apparently great( ). : Pepperoni Flatizza: 8⁄10. «You’ll love the super crispy flatbread, marinara sauce, melty mozzarella cheese and tasty pepperoni.» The marinara sauce is pretty good and features some tomato chunks(I don’t care for them, but I know that most people are fans). The flatbread is super soft, not«super crispy.» It’s also a little doughy tasting. Still, I like it just fine. I received a nice amount of pepperoni and cheese. Both were delicious. : Spicy Italian Flatizza: 8.25÷10. «Our super crispy flatbread is topped with our marinara sauce, melty mozzarella cheese, flavorful pepperoni and genoa salami.» My Flatizza wasn’t spicy at all, but I didn’t really expect it to be. I’m giving a slightly higher score for this one because of the extra topping(genoa salami). My salami pieces were a bit fatty, but not overly so. Anyway, I basically devoured my Flatizza. My Flatizzas were both fairly hot when I got them(it wasn’t really necessary, but I heated them up a little at work). A big eater like me can eat 3 or 4 Flatizzas. I think $ 3.50 is a bit steep for one(I’m referring to when the deal ends). Still, they’re worth ordering overall(just don’t expect to be blown away). This location is small(I wouldn’t want to go here when it’s busy), but otherwise quite solid.

This is in a good location downtown. But parking may be difficult.

I actually hate Subway sandwiches and only eat them when I’m super lazy or there’s no other option. But the employees alone give this place 4 stars. They are super friendly and they remember you. I go in here every other day for a couple of Chocolate chip cookies and a coke zero. Support this location!

I always get the $ 5 foot long from this branch. They’re fast with the service, but they never ask if your food is for here or to go. They just wrap it for to go !

Came here for a $ 5 footlong. Upon ordering, the soda machine was out, instead of substituting, for the bottled soda you has to purchase the bottled soda. My coworker was also asked at the checkout if he was going to provide a tip??? A little rude for a operation that doesn’t have everything in working order.

I’ve never been a fan of subway, though with Taco Bell as the fast food alternative in the Uptown District, a sandwich is more than ideal at times. A healthy concern: They’ve been opened almost four months now and the letter«S», the most important letter of their brand has NEVER functioned correctly. We’re trying to build something here… Could the owner at least take a bit of stock in the community? I mean, its akin to Sears’ giant rooftop«E» being out for an eternity. Would this happen in Orange County? An unfortunate concern: The sandwiched left a bit to be desired, as the staff seems a bit rehearsed in their practice of forging their creations, erring on the sparse side… Take a hint from El Señor Burrito a few doors down and win our hearts over a bit. Why not learn my face, or even smile when you see me? An certainly, why should I have to educate the staff about the different cheeses featured on the menu. I spose there is another Subway within the BART station to serve as an alternative remedy to this throw together.
