Tamar Carson Landscaping

Tamar, Rogelio and their crew transformed our front yard from mess of weeds (it was not unusual to come home and find pigeons hanging out) to one of the best yards in the neighborhood. Tamar was extremely thoughtful in designing the garden — she provided us with numerous options to consider and incorporated our ideas and feedback at every stage. Tamar and Rogelio were also very responsive to our (sometimes extensive and detailed) questions throughout the process. Their team replaced our topsoil, installed a drip system (both in our garden and on our strip of garden on the street side of the sidewalk), removed concrete to create a planter bed and highlight our front path, and planted a wide variety of plants and trees that look great together. Once work on the garden began, things moved very quickly and we were impressed by the quality of work. We were extremely happy with the final result and would highly recommend them.

Wow. Just — wow. I’m a tough customer, but Tamar, Rogelio, and their crew knocked my socks off.
We had been through a very ill-​advised amateur landscaping attempt, during which the «hobbyist gardener» we hired managed to accidentally cut down a 40-​year-​old weeping cherry, butchered a bush, and left us with something of a war zone after declaring she couldn’t remove the rocks she’d unearthed without renting a Bobcat. Thank heavens our contractor referred us to Tamar!
While I have strong opinions, I have about zero knowledge about plants and landscaping, but Tamar was incredibly patient and collaborative in helping me through the initial planning process — willing to bend but also willing to tell me (in a very kind, diplomatic way) when I was way off-​track. She worked with me to arrive at a very clear vision, a comprehensive plant list, and a plan of attack. And when she and her team got to work, I was stunned at how quickly my yard went from war zone to wonderful! Even though we planted as winter arrived, it already looks stunning, and I can’t wait to see what blooms the spring brings.
Tamar and Rogelio also updated our ancient irrigation controls and system, spiffed up and repositioned the existing low-​voltage lights, and built a gorgeous fence to replace an old rotting one. They were also great about explaining how to best care for my beautiful new yard and plants. All of this, at a price I thought to be more than fair, and in a timeframe that was faster than I expected.
My favorite qualities about Tamar and Rogelio:

— extremely skilled in design and plant knowledge
— patient and diplomatic with strong-​willed (ahem) client
— personable, fun, and great to talk with
— great oversight and direction for their crew
— a willingness to make things right if they go awry
Can’t say enough good things about them, and I’d wholeheartedly recommend them for any landscaping project you might have in mind.

Tamar, Rogelio and her crew did a total makeover of my pathetic back yard. She came and watched how the light played over the day and just created a knockout garden for me and my family. It’s lovely. I will definitely use her again when I have the money to rework my front yard. She listens well and the work done is absolutely topnotch!
