I will never go back again very unpleasant Kevin the owner didn’t want to hear how over cooked our food was and charged for every single iced tea and all refills. Very slow service for a place that was not busy. New York at substandard restaurant.

Been to Timbers many times and never have been disappointed. The food is absolutely to die for and the owners Sharon and Kevin always make you feel right at home! Our waitress Sharon was very pleasant and attentive which made our dining experience very much enjoyable.

Used to go to this place all the time. The bar and dining room were packed on a lunch weekday. The owner Kevin is extremely arrogant and a know it all person who annoyed me, but I went because my friends enjoyed it and the food was good. Then as time went by the food portions became smaller and smaller and the quality really went down hill. One by one my friends and 95% of the regular patrons left. Kevin probably doesn’t think it is because of him and that it is an economy thing. That is why he dumped a lot of money into remodeling the place and still not attracting customers. When the food was better, it was easier to put up with his rudeness, but not anymore. There is a reason why people stay away and most of the staff turns over monthly. It is poor management.

My family and I had begun to frequent this restaurant a few months ago. We were pleasantly surprised with the food and the entire experience. Similar to other reviews prior to mine, until there was a problem. My family and I visited for dinner Friday evening. We placed our order and everything was fine. We noticed a little while later the table next to us got their dinners delivered. Then the server ran back to the table a few minutes later and told the gentleman that they mistakenly served him Chicken Parmesan instead of Veal Parmesan. He had just cut into the meat but hadn’t noticed yet. They took the Chicken away and brought him his Veal. I joked with my family, «That was probably my Chicken Parm». A few moments later the server came out with our dinners. When they put my dinner in front of me I noticed that the Chicken was cut open, I asked if they served me the dinner they had served the other gentleman at the next table, they replied«No, that is a new dinner». I asked why the Chicken Parm was sliced open, then the waitress came over and said she was sorry and the chef would normally not do that. They brought me a new dinner a few minutes later, but my appetite was not the same now. I thought maybe the manager/owner should have come over and let us know he was aware of this, but he didn’t. We were getting ready to ask for the bill when my wife decided to go tell the manager what happened, so she walked out to the lobby area so not to make a scene in the restaurant. She spoke to Kevin the Owner/Manager of the establishment and he responded that he didn’t know about the situation and one of us should have come and told him right away.(I didn’t know that it was our job to keep him informed of poor service, thought that might be the job of his staff) He told her that he would send over some desserts to the table, but we really weren’t interested in dessert. He came off sarcastic and insincere in any apology, so she told him to forget about it. She returned to the table. Kevin then came to our table and started making a scene in front of the entire restaurant saying it was our fault that we didn’t come get him sooner. I mentioned that I am in the customer service business and that I understood that sometimes employees do not do the right thing, but he should not be blaming us for his staff not being trained properly. My daughter was getting embarassed by the situation and he made all of us feel uncomfortable, so I just asked for the check. I let my wife and daughter go out to the car while I paid the bill, I did tip the waitress as I don’t feel that she was at fault. On my way out Kevin was in the lobby. I explained that we were simply trying to make him aware of the situation quietly outside of the dining area so it would not be brought to the rest of the customers attention, Kevin said«I already apologized 3 times to you and your wife, what do you want me to do, get naked and dance around upstairs for you?! I told him that was a totally inappropriate statement and that I had no idea where that was coming from. I exited the door and Kevin followed me out the door, then he said«You work in customer service? I would like to know where you work so I can call and complain about you!» I guess this is why the restaurant is not that crowded and maybe they like it that way. We will not go there again and I will share this with everyone I can.

Attention, attention, Timbers has a real Chef. The food is excellent, and the staff is excellent. I had a Special of scrod covered in a sliced green olive and sliced black olive salsa, which was also excellent. They do not have draft beer but have a great selection of bottled beer, including Heineken Dark, which cannot be found in many restaurants/bars.

Where is the tap beer? We stopped by to grab a bite to eat and we found this to be a safe choice. The staff was helpful and friendly. The food was good.

This place is so fantastic. I go for lunch all the time which I’ve always enjoyed. Their grilled chicken sandwich actually has crispy bacon which is a rare find. We had our staff dinner there tonight and it was phenomenal. I got to try so much more of their menu and everything was delicious. The owners are also really nice. Service was great too.

Went for the first time last night based on a friends recommendation. Did not disappoint. Plenty of choices on the menu to choose from. There were 6 of us. Owners and wait staff were terrific. Really liked watermelon basil martini. The room was very open and liked that tables weren’t on top of each other. Parking is plentiful. For a casual night we will definitely be back.

Took my friend and her family here for a Mother’s Day dinner. We made a reservation. Because there was a huge wait Saturday night and people left. Décor. Wolves. It’s actually a nice feel inside Ordered drinks then apps and the Kids meals Kids meals came with the apps The calamari was fine The kids pigs in a blanket were gross. While the hotdog was ok the outside of the puff pastry was cooked but the inside was wet Her 5 yr old wouldn’t eat it. I dismantled it and discovered it was wet and felt like the dough was saturated or uncooked. Not pleasing at all We got our meals The baked potatoes were WAY overlooked skin crispy but hard to cut like has been left under a lamp for awhile. The fillet was decent but a bit greasy She and I had basically the same meal and both of us ended up sick later in the evening. I feel so bad that I took her here on mothers day. A waitress watched us clean up a drink spill. seriously watched. Waste of $

Since I work in the area, I have been coming to Timbers for lunch and dinner for many years. The food is great but this review is not for their lunch and dinner’s but rather for their catered affairs that they host in their area upstairs. My daughter is the maid of honor for her best friend from high school and she picked Timbers as the venue for the bridal shower. I helped her book it since I am local but she and the owners planned and worked the event. I must say that Sharon and Kevin made the entire process very easy and everything went off without a hitch. She decided on their Buffet Brunch for the shower and everyone that went said it was fantastic. The food which is always very good consisted of fruits, bagels, salads, garden vegetables, seafood crepes, eggplant rollatini, scrambled eggs, penne with vodka sauce, french toast, sausage and bacon and desserts that were plentiful. They also added sangria for the ladies. The prices were very reasonable and the service was outstanding! If you’re thinking about having an affair such as a special birthday, wedding shower or other event, I highly recommend Timbers…

A place called The Timbers sounds like it should be a bit fancy. They might better call this place the Timbers Café. Stopped in for lunch today, fairly busy, a combination of business people and retirees. Décor is just OK. Wood tables, no table linen, cloth napkins. Cheap flatware. Chairs look like something you would use in a banquet hall. No background music. Service was prompt and friendly but not all that smooth. Full bar but no beer on tap, what? Lunch menu is for casual dining — a combination of Italian American dishes, burgers, Philly cheesesteaks, sandwiches, salads, some Asian stir frys. Shared the mussels marinara as a starter. Very nice sauce; the mussels were just a bit overcooked. My guest had a reuben sandwich with fries which were fine. I had the tortolini with alfredo sauce. Passable but I can buy much better pasta at Lucy’s Ravioli Kitchen in Princeton. Food came out fast. Price value is OK. Decent family place but not worth a trip.

We eat here a couple of times a month. A solid menu with usually good service. Food is usually very good. I’m more often very happy with the food than I am disappointed, though it happens. We often get take out since it’s easy pick up for us and it works out great. Look at the daily specials. They do a good job coming up with interesting appetizers and main courses. It’s also a good place to go to hang out at the bar and eat as well. The new building separates the bar from the rest of the restaurant.

My husband and I have been going to Timbers for quite a few years now, and have always been satisfied with our meals. Only one time did our«go-to» pasta dish disappoint — but that was it(too much sage in the sauce) — other then that one time, their tomato marinara is THEBEST — I just love the flavor and the pieces of chunky tomatoes in it — It’s not too sweet, not too acidic — it’s perfectly creamy, with chunks of flavor throughout. So, Friday night when I saw an ad in a magazine, which showed a bowl of pasta with the perfect amount of sauce stuck to it, I thought to myself that I would love a huge bowl of pasta. To my delight, my hubby suggested Timbers and I immediately said ‘yes’. We are huge fans of BYOB, which Timbers is not, but we threw that aside and headed out. Since it was ‘Black Friday’, I guess everyone was still out shopping(or full from Thanksgiving) and there was no wait — which was unusual(there’s always a wait) — but, as other reviewers stated, we noticed on our way through the parking lot, that something was different — there were huge picture windows into the bar area… what? The bar is on the other side of the wall — there are no windows!!! Timbers had renovated since our last visit — and what a gorgeous renovation — stone work throughout, extended and separate bar area, soft colors on the wall, a huge stone fireplace — and of course, the wolf paraphernalia throughout… nice job(except I hope you didn’t pay full price for the carpet — terrible job on that… seams showing, places where it’s ‘bubbling’ up — be careful — watch for tripping customers!) We ordered 2 glasses of Rosemount Shiraz which were brought out and we ordered the Steak Skewers — pieces of steak threaded onto wooden skewers with a side of teriyaki sauce… the steak was tender and juicy, and although there was enough teriyaki in the ramekin to serve the entire restaurant, we only dipped our steak in enough to get the flavor — not too sweet, not too strong. Then, out came our salads with house vinaigrette… very tasty — nice blend of greens(no iceberg), tomatoes and cucumbers. I ordered the Angel Hair pasta with Shrimp and Mozzarella — always satisfying — and didn’t disappoint this time — YUM!!! Hubby ordered the Fusilli Lorenzo, which was fusilli pasta with a spicy tomato sauce, sausage and sundried tomatoes(I think that’s what was in that)…but the sauce, once again — phenomenal! And the portions are just the right size — no leftovers, but not hungry either. Not sure if we were supposed to get bread, but we didn’t — which was fine with me since I would have filled up on that! Our server could have been a little more attentive since it was quiet, but he was efficient none-the-less. Our 2 meals, 1 appy, and 4 glasses of wine came to $ 70, pre-tip — and as I stated earlier, we used to going to BYOB places(which are a little cheaper), it kind of through us off, but it was a great meal and worth every penny… Good job, again, Timbers!

I went here recently and sat at the bar for a couple drink and some apps. My husband and I split the appetizer platter which had mozzarella sticks, jalapenos poppers, and calamari. Everything was SUPER greasy! I have never met a mozzarella stick I didn’t like, but these I just couldn’t get down. The worst part of it was the calamari. On top of being greasy, they were very fishy tasting. The whole platter was pretty gross.

Looking for a decent meal and a drink? Try Timbers. The event we were headed to was cancelled. But we were dressed and hungry. After wandering the Oakland/Pompton Lakes area we headed to Timbers. We did not want to spend a great deal. We had a good meal. We each had a drink. I had a vegetable stir-fry, my wife had a pasta dish with chicken. Both were OK. We were full and happy. Wait staff was very attentive & friendly. The total bill(2) drinks(2) entrees, tip & tax was aabout $ 45. We went there to relax and eat. We did just that. Give Timbers a try and write your own review

Timbers is definitely tucked away, located less than a mile from 287 and 202. They serve traditional American and Italian food. There’s a large bar with lots of beer on tap. It’s not a fancy restaurant by any means with paper placemats and paper napkins. Prices are extremely reasonable with burgers going for under $ 8, pasta dishes ~$ 15, and main entrees all under $ 25. After receiving bread and butter, I definitely wasn’t impressed, the bread was a bit stale and I was wondering what my entrée would taste like. However I was so pleasantly surprised at my excellent 18oz ribexye steak cooked perfectly and garnished with thin onion ring strings. All entrees are served with your choice of soup or salad, including the always available French Onion Soup. Of special note, while viewing the online website, not only were the daily specials posted online, but the full menu with prices and also a special note that any of the special entrees would come with a free dessert(Tues, Wed, or Thurs dinners), due to the tough economic times. While I knew this by reading the menu online, this was not advertised by our waittress despite many in our group ordering items from the daily specials on this Wed night. Portions are huge so it wasn’t really a big deal since most of us were stuffed. I’ll definitely be back for the excellent entrees and close proximity to work.
