Wine, beer, cider, and champaign are all stuffed inside this cute little off the street shop waiting for you. The prices are fair, you are not going to get any cheaper. Let’s face it when two buck chuck doesn’t cost 2 bucks anymore, its time to move on. No need to cry over spilled grapes though! They have 1 dollar trading events, seriously when does that happen? So grab you designated driver and pop in for a taste, take a bottle of two to go with you.

Perfect for getting special holiday wines without breaking the bank. Actually true all year long. Tastings on Saturday are fun and informative. Best spot in Oakland IMO. Thanks guys!

Amazing. I was in a super rush and should have asked the staff their opinion on my choices before I zoomed and picked up a couple bottles based on my miniscule knowledge of wine – but my choices were stellar, at even the price point I was choosing. It is obvious this place is well-​curated. I will be back and ask more questions!

Little gem of a place. I’m house-​sitting in this area and was looking for a wine shop. I came here based on the positive Unilocal reviews and was not disappointed. The prices are fantastic!!! Some of the bottles here are almost $ 10 cheaper than other places. Of course, I was only going to buy one bottle, but walked out with 4. The gentleman was also very knowledgeable about the wines and recommended some Portuguese and New Zealand wines which i cannot wait to try. Highly recommend this place.

God, I love this place. Great staff who are passionate about wine regardless of the price point. Also, their wine club rocks. For about 80 bucks a month, you get 6 extremely interesting wines that I certainly would not have found on my own.

I have to say, the prices are actually reasonable. I went back and shopped around and you do get what you pay for. The staff is especially helpful and will help you choose based on what you’re loooking for. If you go back enough, they will know exactly what it is you should try. The wine tasting for a buck is worth it too because they have a hand picked selection.

The people are pretty friendly, and I’ve had good luck with trying new wines that I liked, but on reviewing my bank statement, I found I’d been overcharged by $ 20. Not so cool. :-/

David is a superstar and has almost always directed me in the right direction. He asks smart questions and therefore makes smart recommendations. I’ve never been disappointed in his new ideas, plus the prices are very reasonable.

We bought all of the wine for our wedding and rehearsal dinner here. Wonderful selection, great prices, super helpful.

This place is great! We really enjoy the Saturday wine tastings for $ 1! Each Saturday has a theme, and you get 5 tastings! Take that napa and sonoma!
We discovered some really good wines, both from the tastings and recommendations from the owner!
I’m also a mom, so the fact they have a small selection of toys to keep my daughter entertained during tasting or shopping is a huge plus! :)

I almost don’t want to write a review for this place because i dont want ppl to come here. so i can keep it all to myself. but i can’t be selfish… i guess lol… so just gotta keep it short and not give out too many secrets…

the owner is awesome… i love that he doesnt recommend u to the most expensive wines when u ask for help like a lot of ppl might do. he asks for your budget and picks the best one he can for u. and his quirky weekly emails makes me giggle at work lol
price wise you can get anythng from maybe 5 dollars to a hundred dollars. depending on your wallet lol.
he has every wine you can think of…
my suggestion to my fellow Unilocalers is… if he recommends u a good wine, dont hesitate just buy it… and if u like it come back quickly lol. because i waited too long and he no longer carries the wine i fell in love with. I knew i should bought one more… haha DAMN IT.

Randomly found this as we were driving by. I pulled it up on Unilocal as we passed it, saw it had good reviews and $ 1 wine tasting so we made a U-​turn and decided to try it.
We went on a Saturday and the staff said it was unusually dead. There were maybe about 10 people in the store when we went. We did the $ 1 wine tasting and the selection was very good. They also give you a good amount of wine to taste. They have a bunch of different wines from different regions, and countries and they are all very reasonably priced. The staff is super knowledgeable about the wines and they are all very friendly. We ended up picking up 2 bottles of very good wine for under $ 20.
This is a good place to go to get a wide selection of wines from around the world for a pretty reasonable price.

I tried some good bubbly today and made a purchase for New Years, so this was a win. I would have wanted to also try some reds, but there was only the choice of bubbly. I believe each week is a different tasting… and sometimes they offer $ 5 tastings as well.
I came right before the rush, so parking was good at the beginning of the tasting, but it’s very limited so you either have to show up early or find street parking…

I was pretty darn impressed that wines of the world can be found in Temescal, and all for $ 1 per 5 tastings on Saturdays!
They also have an excellent wine and champagne selection.
Drink, browse, and shop to your heart’s galore among affordable selections ranging from $ 7 to $ 62 depending upon your taste.
Parking is a cinch in their private lot, and if you get hungry, you can head over to the café next door.
A perfect reason to become a wino :)

I stopped in for the CMYE on Saturday. Apparently, every Saturday they host $ 1 tastings. Five samples for $ 1! I tried a white and a red because I’m a lightweight but there were a lot of people enjoying all five of the wines. The pours were strong and the crowd was friendly. I really enjoyed going to this hidden gem. It’s right off the freeway and there’s plenty of parking in the lot! Blink and you might miss this place.
They offered a wide variety of wines on sale as well. What an excellent way to spend your afternoon. If you’re in Oakland from 2pm-​5pm stop in for a tasting.

The Wine Mine was the Site of a CMYE Saturday sponsored by our own Unilocal CM Nique. I rolled my weekend whip to the Wine Mine and was able to park right in front in the handy Parking Lot.
I rolled in and was pleased with what I saw. A wide selection of Wines and Gluten free beers. This being Saturday they offer a Special 5 wine tasting for a $ 1. What a Bargain and generous pours .
There was a whole Posse of Unilocal folks tasting the wines. What a great way to start off a Saturday afternoon. It was Cool meeting some of my Unilocal Online friends for the first time and hang with regular ones too.

Saturday wine tastings. $ 1 for five wines. Today was a Spanish-​wine theme. I may never get to make the trip to the actual country, but now my tongue has walked on its grape fields. The five-​fold selection of samples was not just compelling, but affordable. One of my favorite selections of the sample quintet cost like $ 7 a bottle. Wow.
Wine excellence aside, I just love that the Wine Mine carries a impressive number of gluten-​free beers, and purchased two bottles I have not heard of nor tasted yet.

Yesterday was Valentine’s Day. I spent most of it sneering at the endless lines of men queuing up at the flower stand, the hoards of last-​minute card shoppers, and grown women dressed in the girliest pinks. Such silliness it all is!
Then, at about 5pm, the sinister spell of cynicism was broken. I needed a V-​Day gift, stat!
It always helps to know a few basic likes and dislikes about your sweetie, and thankfully I had picked up on the fact that my suitor has a major thang for Sauternes — that sticky, sweet dessert wine from Bordeaux, typically found in the «baby maker» section of the wine dept. This glorious liquid gold is not something you easily stumble upon at Trader Joe’s or Safeway, so some serious Unilocal research was needed.
I gave the Wine Mine a call to inquire about their Sauternes selection. They had 4 different types on hand, between $ 15 – 29. Seriously? This was almost too easy. I zipped right over, grabbed a spot in their convenient private lot, just off Telegraph, flew inside and dashed over to the «stickies» section (yes, they really have one). I chatted with the wine woman about different vintages, and settled on a nice petite bottle for le beau. My cool girlfriend points were about to get a boost.
I took a peek at the boxes upon boxes of unique, well-​priced wines and thought… I never have to drive all the way to Berkeley for quality juice again (though I do still love Solano Cellars). I’ve got to come back for their legendary $ 1 weekend tastings — 5 tastes for a buck! I think I just found my wine shop Valentine.
