I have utilized a countless number of therapists from all over the country and for some 15 years. With that history, I consider myself a bit of connoisseur of massage therapy. I have been seeing Kampol for over a year now and believe that he is bar none, the best masseuse I have ever used. He is kind, generous, and thoughtful. No two massages are the same unless they need to be. He adapts his approach/​techniques to the unique needs of the client.

Over many years I’ve had more than 100 massages from Kampol, but because I live in another country now, today’s was the first in about 2 years. It was wonderful, of course. My body felt completely renewed afterwards. Kampol is very attuned to the client, very sensitive to what each body needs. My only complaint is that he’s too far away from where I live now. I wish I could see him every day, or at least once a week. If you live in N CA, you should not miss the opportunity — have regular massages with Kampol. Your body will thank you, repeatedly.

Hate to be petty, but I can’t let someone accuse me of being a liar.
Here is evidence of the following:
1. Tranquility Rx did threaten to cancel my last Groupon massage despite the fact that a) I had always rescheduled well in advance of 24 hours, and (2) On their website/​emails/​in person they had never stated it was a policy that you could not reschedule appointments.
2. A $ 25 fee would be incurred if you canceled within 24 hours of your appointment. It should not occur if you cancelled well beyond 24 hours of your appointments.
This is an email I received on April 9. Please note I had always cancelled my appointments in advance of 24 hours.
«This is the third time we have attempted to book your second of three introductory massages. Please understand that If you cannot make this next appointment the session will be forfeit. Please make sure it works for you since introductory offers and not transferable to others…
Cancellation Policy: Should you cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled treatment, you will incur $ 25 fee. If you do not show up for your session, the full cost of the session is applicable.»

Great massage! Very nice atmosphere and he is great about making sure you’re comfortable. Very attentive, I got tea and water and some massage oil at the end! Highly recommend it!

The best! I first came to Tranquility Rx on a Groupon Deal and like many services you buy on Groupon, I went into it thinking it’d just be ‘alright’. Wrong! It didn’t matter if it was a Groupon deal or not, Kampol was amazing! He really listened and paid attention to what I needed. The place is very clean and calming. Kampol made me feel very comfortable and was very thorough. I returned again a 90 min and just as I remembered, it was fantastic. I’ll be sure to return again very soon!

I don’t understand how this place is voted the best of Emeryville. I have been trying to get an appointment without success. I emailed twice, tried their online contact once, called 3 times, all without a reply.
What kind of business are you running anyway? How can you get away with not responding to people when they try to make an appointment?

This guy is awesome! The waiting room is the masseuses’ living room, which I have to say is a lot nicer than a typical waiting room. Instead of magazines there’s an ornate chess set and a piano… makes you feel right at home
As for the massage, it was amazing. He uses your breathing to assist in the massage getting really deep into the muscle tissue, and hit all the key areas I requested.
Highly suggested for anyone with high stress or tight muscles.

I am a musician, and have certain spots that really get bound up and this amazing therapist has found and unlocked them. I wish I could afford a weekly apt!

Excellent massage and service!
I received my prenatal/​cranial sacral treatment last night. Kampol is the very thorough and hard working. He continuously revisited ever area by circling the table rather than being semi stationary. I really enjoyed the fluid mechanics of the treatment and deep pressure. I feel like he is very confident and familiar with his work compared to other pro massage therapists I have hired.
The space is clean, inviting, bright, and peaceful. I love that the treatment room has a large gorgeous healthy plant right in the corner at the head of the table.
Eugenia made me feel comfortable and welcome plus worked out some great package deals for my pregnancy.

Relaxed and Refreshed! That was my experience after a one hour Swedish massage with Kampol. Kampol is kind, warm, and a very skilled massage therapist. Highly recommend.

My wonderful experience began with a warm welcome, fragrant tea and a lovely environment. Kapol made me feel immediately comfortable. This massage was through a Groupon, yet there was no stinting on the service or generosity. Kampol’s massage was both therapeutic and relaxing. He sent me home with massage oils — how’s that for generosity?
I’ll be going back. And you’ll want to check it out yourself.

I really enjoyed my massage yesterday. Kampol is super professional, attentive, and has a great spirit. He’s the kind of person you want to be around and that helps when you’re in a massage for an hour.
The space is very clean and well done. Bed is warm and clean. Everything inside the space is great. Don’t let the neighborhood fool you into thinking it won’t be nice. He offered me tea and aromatherapy afterward, all nice touches but honestly if the massage hadn’t been that great, those wouldn’t have mattered. The key is that the massage was heavenly.

So I heard about this from amazon local, it had very good reviews in Unilocal,and it wasn’t too fat from me anyways. Parking on a Tuesday can be difficult because around 1230 – 3 they do street sweeping, so u can park on the street! So I ask the guy if I can park in his driveway and graciously he let me! Walked in his house and noted calming/​relaxation vibe. I liked it! Asked me if I wanted water or tea. I picked tea and got to pick out a flavor. The room was nicely decorated and very relaxing. He instructed me to do what every massage place does («get comfortable, u can our your clothes in the box, get onto the table face down, I’ll be back».)
He asked me to pick out a scent for the message oil, I noted lavender but also wanted a kind of eucalyptus scent. So he mixed them and it was perfect! I’ve been to many different massage places, all with different techniques. I noted his was different… in a good way. Instead of using just his hands, he uses his whole arms to massage my body. Amazing!

This is the place to go when you’ve had a busy week at work or just come out of a killer Pilates session. Kampol is a sensitive bodyworker who takes your requests seriously. He always asks what is going on with your body before he starts a session and is lovely about adjusting his pressure per your groans or specific suggestions. His office is easy to get to in Emeryville and there is plenty of parking.

I purchased a Groupon for a massage package at this business a few weeks back. There was no indication in the fine print that this offer was only available to new clients; however, went I tried to book an appointment this past week, I was told that the Groupon offer is only for new clients. When I informed the business that there was no indication of this exclusion on the Group itself, I was told «These introductory rates are used to attract new clients and we pay Groupon 50% to bring you to us. We will not pay Groupon for recurring clients.»
Fair enough, except that it’s really unprofessional, rude and annoying to change the terms of an agreement after you’ve already made the agreement. Now I am currently working with Groupon to try to get a refund. A lot of hassle could have been saved simply by noting in the fine print that this offer is only available for new clients.
As far as the service itself, the last time I received a massage here it was okay, but certainly nothing worth going through all of this hassle to use my Groupon.

OK, I’ll come clean: I’ve played the field with some other massage therapists, Kampol, and finally came to you today. Yikes, why did I play around? The four other massage therapists I’ve seen in the last year were lovely, diligent but your work is qualitatively in a different class.
Kampol has a… yin/​yang style: Pressure to the depth you like combined with a rolling, fluid movement. He also manipulated my limbs and body around in a delicious way.

I had an INCREDIBLE massage with Kampol this last weekend. He is a true healer! I was so relaxed in his care, and it was amazing to feel how he slowly brought any pain/​knots in my back to the surface, and then gracefully released them from my body. At one point I was so blissed out I felt as if there were five hands massaging me!
I loved what great care he took to massage everything — my neck, my back, my arms, my hands, my fingers, my legs, my feet, my toes. I kept hearing my mind think about the time, because I didn’t want it to end… but it was as if we’d bent space and time, and it felt like a deliciously relaxing and nourishing massage that kept going and going.
The space is very clean, comfortable, welcoming. The lighting in the room is lovely, and I loved the aromatherapy, and calming music. The energy of his space is very tranquil and holds a beautiful vibration of spiritual consciousness.
Immediately afterwards I bought two more… one for me, and one as a gift for my boyfriend. I’m very excited to go again, and have my guy experience Kampol’s gifts as well!

My husband bought me the groupon deal and I decided to try the deep tissue massage for the first time. I loved it! At first like many other reviews, I was a little hesitant about getting a massage from someone who runs his business out of his home, but it was all good. He had the massage room set up like any other massage room and he was very professional. The deep tissues was just what I needed. Being a crossfiter I totally benefitted from it. He asked where I wanted him to focus on and I said my upper back and he did a great job. I would totally recommend him to friends and I will also go back for another massage.

I work a 8 – 9 hour desk job that requires me to sit most of the day. My neck and overall back hurts often and so does my lower arms. I am also often very tense and have tight spots on my body. Kampol is an extremely thoughtful, friendly, and skilled masseuse. His strength is fantastic and he knows when to apply great pressure. He put great focus on areas that were problematic for me. I was also impressed with his hand techniques and stretches — he knew all the right moves!
I felt very comfortable with him. He has a very overall relaxed vibe about him. I came out of this massage feeling incredibly nice like jello, relaxed, and happy. He also gave me some oils to take home with me for my arm pain, which I really appreciated.
I will definitely be seeing Kampol again, especially since he’s very close to my location! I would highly recommend.

Kampol really tailors his massages to the needs of your body. He uses the right amount of strength at specific pressure points. Kampol works from his own home and has made it a comfortable place for his clients to relax during their massage. He only talks when you prompt a conversation, which works for me because I like to be silent during massages.
His prices are affordable as well.
