This place is a hidden gem of Oakland.
I never knew this place until the Owner of Osmanthus told me about this place. I was looking and looking for Sichuan (Szechuan) peppercorns. I don’t see them in Chinatown, I don’t see them in Berkeley Bowl, I don’t see them in Trader Joe’s (of course), I see them in an very fancy restaurant supply store, but they are overpriced.
I found a huge bag of Szechuan peppercorn here, for 8 dollars. A HUGE bag. This was the place, and I should’ve come here a long ago.
They sell many things like Chinese five spices, frozen food from China, Chinese tea etc. And I won’t guarantee you the quality of food here since I didn’t buy too many things. But the price is incredible, and they have things that other places don’t!
You just have to buy things in bulk though. And it’s CASH ONLY here. As long as you keep those in mind, you may benefit hugely from this hidden Chinese warehouse.
