I like the Oakley Library! It’s closer to me then the Brentwood trailer and they are helpful if you need to find something.

Friendly staff and willing to help either finding a book or with a suggestion. A bit small for a library, but books can be ordered easy enough and they leave a nice message on your anwering machine when it comes in.

I also found that the Oakley Library was closer to me than downtown Antioch and chose to have my books sent there as well. Yes, it is smaller but that’s okay for me. The women that were there the day I went made up for that downfall. Super sweet and very helpful, like what I remember when I was younger. I am not saying that the Antioch folks are not nice… not at all… I just felt a little more comfortable here and feel this way each time I come here. Parking is great, I have never had a problem with that. The only draw back is that because it is at Freedom High School, it is going to get a little loud when the kids are changing classes and when they come in. I guess some people are used to it but I am Old School where you were shushed for talking. I will be making this my home library from now on.

Recently, I just realized that I live closer to this library than the one in downtown Antioch. Sweet. Keep in mind that this is on the Freedom High campus next to the auditorium. I had somewhat of a hard time finding it the first time I was here. Whenever I request for books on hold, I always have them sent here for pick-up. It never takes long to receive my book, and they’re always there waiting for me. The library itself is on the smallish side, but for some reason, I can always spend a good couple hours here. I’m always in my own little world whenever I’m in a library. For those living on the newer side of Antioch and don’t want to go across town for books, this location should suffice :-)
