Darrell’s Dog Gone Good Diner

So I’m still sitting here waiting on my food, have watched a 2 people walk out from waiting on there food. As of right now it’s been a hour. Stay tuned.

You never know what quality you’re gonna get when you walk into a local diner. I planned on just getting some easy eggs and toast, something warm after a night of camping, but for some reason the biscuits and gravy called to me. I’m not sure why, my biscuit and gravy experience is full of bland gravy and dry biscuits, but something told me to take a chance.
I ordered the Mountain Scramble, but with my eggs over-​medium bc I love the runny yolk. WOW. The biscuits were moist and flavorful, the gravy was tasty and the consistency was perfection. The sausage was yummy. The eggs were cooked just right, with the whites fully cooked and the yolk creamy. Even the hash browns were perfect, crispy surface and soft inside. I’m so stunned at how this meal completely surpassed my expectations.
I’ll be in the area for a few days; maybe I’ll come back for dinner one night and see if I can be pleasantly surprised again.
Also, staff was very friendly, and service was great. (Noon on a Friday)

We went to the one in Belleview for breakfast and had a really positive experience until we went to pay the bill and leave. The food was good and seemed fresh and well prepared. The waiter was attentive and took care of all our needs. The problem? When the bill came, we were charged $ 2.00 each for a glass of water?!? We were not told were were going to be charged and just assumed that water came with our meals like everywhere else in town. I can certainly afford the $ 4.00, but it just left such a bad taste in my mouth that we won’t be going back.

Meatloaf special is a keeper! ! And our waitress, Danielle, gave us top notch service with a smile.

We when because reviews great. The place was packed and very bizzy. Had to wait at front for them to clean off place to sit. Ordered they bring food. Forget one idem ordered. But the main thing me and my wife see is grease on food wow. We eating in good old nasty great tasting breakfast. I am soaking my napkin on food to take grease away. My son who came said it’s the grease that makes it so good dad. I like it. So that’s it. 2 out 5 or 3 out 5. Maybe bad because so bizzy?

Do not have a kids menu. But they do have a Mickey mouse pancake that is large and fluffy. Nothing to put inside the pancake. Country fried steak tastes like fat. Has browns were nice and crunchy though. Plenty staffed.

Pretty good local diner. Greasy spoon without the grease. Pretty good food. Excellent burgers.

Good rib sticking breakfast. Nothing fancy here just great prices, friendly/​fast service, good food, and ample servings.
2 pancakes, bacon, and 2 eggs costs $ 5. If you get coffee they will make sure it stays filled. Very prompt on refills.

Sunday breakfast for hubby and me… And it paid off to be nice:) we got the coffee on the house!!! ($ 4.00 off check). Went there at 8 am, it opens at 6am. It was very busy and we waited about 7 minutes. Was served coffee right away. Our order came 12 minutes later of Sausage gravy, + 2eggs+2 biscuits ($ 6)and 2−2−2 (2 hotcakes+2 Eggs +2 bacons)($ 5.50), everything was hot, fresh and the gravy was seasoned and delicious. The server (Darin) was there with fresh coffee throughout our stay. At the checkout, the owner was there ringing customers out. (we knew it was him because there is a newspaper review and his picture hanging on the wall, in the booth where we sat, to the right of the kitchen entry) he apologized for the delay in service. We smilingly said: we didn’t mind! All was good !! and that’s when he took the coffees off the check! On the house! We will go back for lunch, we heard other customers raving about that!!!

Came with the family for Sunday breakfast and everyone had their meal fast and the way it was ordered. Will definitely come back.

Best eggs in town! Super delicious, friendly service, great prices! Open 7 days a week (I think!!) at least I can vouch for weekends! Turkey club and amazing! Oh and you order, blink twice and your food is ready! It’s nuts how fast they are! It’s almost like they start your order when you leave the house!

We ate here again this morning for about the 10^th time and we cannot say enough good things about Darrell’s Diner. We always go for the breakfast menu. The prices are just right. The menu is very easy to read. They have great, fast, and very friendly service. The staff has always been extremely friendly at every Darrell’s location that we go to (and we have been to 3 locations here in Marion County). As a testament to the quality of their breakfasts we normally leave very full and without a single left over. This place is highly recommended. All of their locations have exceeded our expectations.

I love Darrell’s diner in Silver Spring shores and on Silver Springs Blvd. Great sandwiches and salads!!! Good prices, great service and very clean establishments :) I guess that is why I go there all the time!

Just moved to Ocala from Tallahassee last night. Got up this morning and we were very hungry. Checked our Unilocal app and found this place. Very glad we did. I’ve never had anything better than a home cooked breakfast until I ate her!!! Go in and see a server named Barbra. She is outstanding!!!

I have lunch at Darrell’s 5 to 8 times per month. It’s one of those small, family owned diners that always has a great daily special and full menu. They serve breakfast all day.
Friendly wait staff, clean rest rooms and great value.
Oh, one last item. Not sure where they get their bread, but it is thick and tasty — whether it be used for sandwiches or toast.
Open seven days a week! Stop in for breakfast or lunch — you won’t be disappointed!

Clean restaurant and the absolute BEST scrambled eggs I have ever had in my life. The thick, crispy bacon? Cooked to perfection. The pancakes were the only letdown.
