Had a lovely experience here. At first I thought it was a little sketchy because there were just 2 other parties there. Dim lights and beautiful slow music played in the background; made the atmosphere very relaxing. Very quiet. I had clear soup, ginger salad, and 8 pcs of sushi with a California roll. It was very delicious. I’m not a big fan of California rolls and I actually liked this one. My husband had a veggie roll and avocado/cucumber salad, which he also enjoyed. For dessert we ordered the vanilla fried ice cream. I recommend it if you’ve never tried it before. The service was also very fast and pleasant. The server was very nice.

Worst experience in a long time. We waited forever for them to take our order then when they did it took forever to get the food. I had to get up and call for them 2 – 3 times just to get service or refills on water. The sushi was okay but not worth the service and atmosphere. I had a coupon worth $ 4.95 that they refused to take cause it was Valentine’s Day, as if that’s a national holiday. Oh well, lesson learned. The«owner«made the call to refuse to take it and lose a customer forever. Ever since they opened the second location this place has gone to hell.

Beautiful presentation but couldn’t eat it at all. No taste! «Hot» tea was not even warm! I ordered fish tempora at lunch yesterday. I asked for the check, with the full plate of food in front of me, and she didn’t comment but allowed me to pay $ 11. Plus!!! NEVERAGAIN!!!

My wife & I along with a friend stopped in Friday night for dinner knowing they changed ownership. Needless to say we were pleasantly surprised ! The staff was great & the food Susi appetizer along with dinner was excellent.

This place has declined into mediocrity a bit, which is a shame as this used to be the best sushi in Ocala. It is still worth going but they started cutting corners. Very quiet and relaxing place for a break in your workday. I recommend the grilled dishes over the sushi now though. Those dishes are still a good value.

This place has gone down hill since being sold. Was seated very quickly is the only good thing that occurred. The place was busy, I will give you that, only 2 servers, the sushi chefs were running food to the tables, WTH? My wife and I did manage to get a menu, A MENU, SINGULAR, ONE for both to share I guess. Sat there long enough to get drinks, NOSTRAWS. Told the girl that delivered our strawless beverages we were ready to order, she promptly replied, «I’ll get your server». So we waited, waited, waited. Asked for help, waited, waited, waited. They began serving people that came in after us. Packed up our stuff, walked out and went to Tony’s and had a much better dining experience(should have gone there in the first place).

Service was absolutely glacial. When food finally arrived, the spicy yellowtail tasted off. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the fish was giving off a slight odour. When I mentioned it to the waitress, I was brushed off without any discussion.

As I’m on a fairly stressful trip currently, I was looking for a «comfort food» kind of lunch. Sushi is that for me. :-) I sat at the sushi bar, as I wanted to feel like I was treating myself a little bit(the rest of the décor is very casual, and I didn’t feel like watching the basketball game showing on the TV). I ordered a sizable meal: sashimi appetizer, Japanese Bagel Roll, and a Crazy Roll. Green tea to drink and green tea ice cream for dessert(did I mention I was looking for comfort food?). The waiter was pleasant, quick to get what I needed, and checked back regularly without being too in my face. Points for that. As for the food: the sashimi appetizer was GORGEOUS; very fresh and beautifully put together. The sushi bar chef who was working today obviously cares about his craft. The bagel roll, well, what can I say. There’s no expecting a huge flavor burst considering the ingredients; I was just looking to reminisce about my favorite NYC bagel with lox and cream cheese, sushi-style. So, no complaints. I was disappointed with the Crazy Roll, however. It was quite bland considering that it had both spicy salmon and spicy tuna in it. Admittedly, I have a high spice tolerance, but I’ve never had a spicy roll with that little flavor. Granted, this place is just around the corner from one of the largest mostly-white-retiree complexes in the area, so perhaps the business is catering to the Elder American Person palette. Even so, it was really disappointing. All in all, I would come back here. Not for a «nice» dinner, and not for a date, but for a comfort food lunch? Yep.

Downgrading since my last review. Seems it has changed hands — for the worse. The food is kinda OK, not as great as it once was. The little things, like the sliced orange after dinner are no more. The wait-staff tries to do a good job — maybe better training is needed, but it appears Ocala has lost its last decent sushi place

I chose Grace Sushi because of the overall rating I saw on Unilocal, but left feeling underwhelmed. The atmosphere felt more Chinese takeout than cozy sushi restaurant, and the music that was playing during my meal there was more distracting than anything else. The employees were all very friendly, and the waitress was efficient and checked on me often. I had the miso soup, one of the special sushi rolls, and a soft drink. With tax and tip my total came to about $ 15. The food wasn’t bad per se, just bland and unmemorable; I definitely don’t feel that it was worth $ 15.

Different ownership. The roll I once loved are longer the size nor the quality they used to be :(

Had dinner at this hidden gem, a while back. This was also my first experience with sushi. The décor is nothing to write home about, but the service and quality of food, more than makes up for it. I had a bento box and a few different rolls. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable on the menu items, and answered any questions my rookie mind could think of. Fairly affordable, when compared with other Japanese cuisine. Would definitely recommend, and will be returning in the future.

Worst service. The waitress does not belong in the service industry. I asked for a refill of hot tea. She said will be «couple of minutes». Then for twenty minutes she did every thing else including bussing the tables, refill other client’s Coke, taking orders, talking on the phone and bringing out food but not refill me hot tea. This same waitress had disappointed me on our previous visit too. Never again. Take my advice. There are a lot more sushi joints that are just as good if not better.

This place is the only sushi place in Ocala that isn’t over priced. Every roll here is good and the wait staff is great. The inside could be a bit cozier, but the place is still very new. I highly suggest the sunrise roll or the lemon roll for a bit of a change.

My daughter and I shot up to Ocala after leaving Orlando to visit my parents and we hit Grace Sushi for a late dinner. Don’t let the name fool you-Grace Sushi is more than just sushi… they have a hibachi and tempura menu as well. There were only a few people there when we walked in and we were greeted enthusiastically. I was in a sushi mood so I ordered a special roll, a tuna roll, and some additional individual pieces(they sell them individually instead of in pairs). The sushi to rice ratio was solid-they didn’t cheap out and try to fill you up with rice-and my roll was unlike anything I’d had before(I think it was The Green Dragon roll). Shrimp tempura, mango, crab salad, topped with seaweed salad-very tasty. My daughter ordered hibachi shrimp and my Mom, the hibachi snapper. My sushi was very good, tasted fresh, with a beautiful presentation-miso soup and salad appetizer was nothing special, but adequate. The hibachi meals were large and filling-very tasty veggies and noodles, and the shrimp and fish were tasty as well, though the shrimp was slightly overdone and my Mom would have liked a little less sauce on her fish, but they still loved the meals. I would definitely come back to Grace Sushi again-especially to try another special roll or two! Reasonably priced, delicious meals, great service!

Grace Sushi was quite nice. A big enough place you can just walk in and get a seat. Small enough it is not to loud. A very friendly staff, we were greeted at the door by Ashley, along with a great smile and attitude. Dressed in black the staff had a modern twist. The booths were clean and comfortable. The kitchen and sushi bar very clean as were the bathrooms. I feel good eating at a place that is spotless. I had the«Dragon Go Crazy» and«Sexy Lady» Roll. Both were very good. My guest had a Bento Box with steak strips, Dim Sum, veggies and rice. He enjoyed it very much. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was my guest’s meal came out 5 – 6 mins before my sushi. The explanation was, one type of food was cooked in the kitchen and the other prepared at the sushi bar. The kitchen need to time the food better with the sushi chefs. My guest was half way finished when I got my food. Other than this we had a fantastic time, had great service, and eat really good food. The check was around $ 60.00 with 3 beers(yes I had the extra beer) quite reasonable for 2 at a sushi place.

We love sushi, and this is a fabulous place to get some! Always get seated quickly. Servers are always friendly and attentive. The food is awesome. And I must brag on the«Phoenix» roll — best roll I’ve ever had at ANY sushi place. My husband and I love to go here, fairly regularly!

Both The Other Half and I were very disappointed with Grace Sushi. Our goal today was to find a new place we haven’t eaten. It’s been a long while since we’ve had sushi, and this seemed like a great spot. Let me say, it’s not that the sushi was bad, it just wasn’t great. It was better than an All You Can Eat Chinese Buffet — but what does that say? Not much, in my book. The Other Half had the Sushi/Sashimi combo plate. I had the Shrimp Hibatchi(which is in and of itself a little misleading since they don’t actually cook it in front of you — yes, I know it’s a style of cooking — but still, if I’m paying for Hibatchi, I want a show). The Miso soup was acceptable. The salad with Ginger Dressing left much to be desired. It was too sweet for our taste, although the Ginger flavor was much more apparent than some more commercial eateries. Our lunch cost $ 30 for two people, which I think is a bit expensive. I guess part of that was my fault, as I had the Hibatchi plus an order of California Rolls($ 4 for 6 is a reasonable price) instead of just ordering a Bento Box, which is not advertised, but apparently always comes with an order of California Rolls(I heard the table next to us mention that after we were half way through our lunches). Their menu is hard to read — Their Sushi/Sashimi combo plate only lists that… Though when we asked the waitress, she said it’s the chef’s choice(why not state that on the menu?) and then told us it’s always the same selection(why not state that?). It kind of felt like they were trying to be a more high class sushi joint and fell short of the attempt. Personally, I don’t think the quality, atmosphere and quantity justify the price. Quote of the day was«We should have just waited until we got back up to Atlanta for sushi.» That says it all.

Great food and rolls. Service is friendly. Its a really nice locally owned and run sushi joint. The prices are very reasonable, two can eat full lunches for under $ 20. We are definitely repeat offenders here.
