Highland Memorial Day Remembrance

Though our fallen heroes should be remembered on a daily basis, Highlands Memorial Park does a magnificent job on Memorial Day in honoring them in every way possible.
A free long time annual event it’s always thoughtfully planned out to leave no military branch, war or soldier left out. Special attention is always given to our local fallen citizens as well as their families. A lot of deserving pomp and circumstance that is always solemn but never sad. It’s important to point out that this is a fully involved community event as the local military schools, VFW posts, all our elected officials and other non profit and ministry leaders take part n this ceremony.
It’s particularly heartwarming to see in attendance people nearing the age of 100 along with children. All these small ones are experiencing life’s lessons that cannot simply be taught by reading about it. Bravo to the parents.
