Surly service. Cashier issues and confusion w specalicious deal. Ice cream typical store bought premium style. Tastes fine but there are other options even here.

A hot afternoon/​evening walking around Occoquan was nicely offset by a lemonade from here. Service isn’t fast-​food level fast, but that shouldn’t be expected in a place like this, either.
I chose the mojito lemonade and it really is refreshing — highly recommended! Quaint, cute store which I wouldn’t mind returning to!

My daughter and I went to Historic Occoquan for the 1^st time today (on Sunday evening) because we happened to be near there. We tried to go to another ice cream place that Siri suggested and Unilocal said was open but it was closed (the other one)!
My daughter and I had a lovely time! This is a full service old-​fashioned ice-​cream parlor. My daughter had never been to a real ice-​cream parlor with so many choices before. It is very quaint and we felt so welcome to slow down and sit awhile and enjoy our custom-​made sundaes.
The mom and daughter who were running the parlor were really sweet and ready to accommodate whatever we were hankering!
If you are in a hurry and expect everything to run in an automated drive-​through fashion then this is probably not the place for you. But if you want to slow down, take a breather and enjoy a picturesque relaxing stroll along the Occoquan river in its historic little town then you need to stop by this sweet little shop!
They also have a wide range of fresh fudge, sandwiches, treats, coffee drinks and such– but we were there for the yummy sundaes!
It was also really sweet that the owner, Margie, happened to have some unneeded bread scraps on hand to give to my daughter who really wanted to feed the ducks along the river! I had told my daughter that we weren’t likely to find any bread around to feed the ducks but Margie had some for my daughter and it turned out to be a really special (spontaneous) mother-​daughter dates!
I will definitely bring my family back there again!
By the way, we found out about the place by asking folks who were strolling along the river and it was recommended to us and seemed to be well-​known to the locals.
I am so glad we found this place!

I can’t believe I paid over $ 9 for two SMALL soft serve ice cream! I will never go to this place again.

Ice cream and homemade fudge… Who could resist? I visit here often, and am always greeted with a warm welcome. The favors are regularly updated and it seems there is always something new. The peanut butter fudge is to die for — and she’s open later in the evening for those after-​dinner cravings.
Yesterday I stopped in for chocolate mint flavor — hit the spot on a 100 degree day.
in addition to the treats, there is also a selection of sandwiches to choose from, all very reasonably priced. A great place to drop in with the kids that won’t leave you broke at the end.
