Grotto Pizza

We stayed right down the boardwalk from this Grotto, and had such a good experience the first night, we ended up going back twice more that weekend. Twice we ate on the patio/​deck, and we were both more than satisfied with Kara, our server. Obviously overworked and understaffed because it was officially off season, but she did a great job and got us everything we needed. You deserve a raise, girl! The pizza was even better than I remembered. The guys down on the boardwalk at the take out area were great too, very nice and service was fast. We will absolutely be back!

My boyfriend and I stopped in the other day for lunch because it was super close to our hotel and he’s one hell of a pizza fanatic. Definitely not disappointed. All we got was a 12″ chz pizza to split, but it was fantastic! They had started getting a little pop around the time we got there and I believe there was only one or two servers on w/​the bartender taking tables as well, but they handled it well. We sat at the bar to eat and even though she was busy the bartender was a sweetheart, I believe her name was Becca. Overall, great service, great view, great atmosphere, and delicious pizza! We’ll be back!

Well, not all pizza can be completly delicious. But lucky for you, pizza, no pizza can be completly terrible.
On the sign it said they serve «fresh PA mushrooms», but they tasted like they came from a can and were soaked in water. I have my eye on you, Grotto Pizza.

My family and I stopped in last night for some pizza and drinks with a view. They were semi busy for being the 1^st of September but that’s no surprise for this business. This is my second time going to this boardwalk location this summer and it was just as good as the first time! If you’ve never tried grottos pizza you absolutely must, I’m not sure what it is about this pizza but I crave it all year long! It’s a staple when we come down to the beach. Service was great (cannot remember her name but young lady with the tattoos, thank you!) and the view is just untouchable. Honestly the best orange crushes in town. Keep doing what you do best grottos and company!

This was our first stop on the boardwalk. Grotto is a chain around OC and maybe other parts of MD/​DE but I’m not 100% sure about that. It’s a typical pizza joint with greasy overpriced foods but good nonetheless. The employees are helpful and really nice (host charged my phone for me, thanks!)
We got the «Boardwalk fries» which taste like plain fries — there wasn’t even old bay on it. The pizza itself was really really good. I suggest getting the large because the regular wasn’t enough for us. Plus, you can get it to go and eat it on the beach later!
The outside patio overlooks the beach and it’s really pretty. I would definitely come back to this Grottos.

Called the number– got an answer upstairs to order carryout, told it would be ready in 15 min downstairs window. Went to get it & they claimed I never called. Called back, confirmed right number, right grottos. Waited on hold 7 min for upstairs. Long story short, upstairs is quite mismanaged!!! Downstairs (on the boardwalk) was nice & apologetic. But in the end, nothing was done to improve the situation.
It seems crappy service is the norm in OC even when they aren’t busy (weekday, mid afternoon).

Love Grotto’s close proximity to the beach! We’ve walked up and gotten drinks and lunch at least 3 days out of our 5 day stay. My mom said the orange crushes were the best she has ever had! The pizza is great as usual and the mozzarella sticks were tasty as well.

It’s just one of those places our family has to eat at while in Ocean Scott. We love the pizza and have never strayed for anything else they serve. We even got it to go and it was excellent!

They do NOT deliver. This ad should be updated. Nor do they post prices, as you’ve probably figured out by now.

Excited to have grottos on the boardwalk. It didn’t disappoint. Pizza was yummy as always and we were pleased to find a gluten free option. The only draw back was it was cooler outside than inside. Making a killing with fractured prune.

We were only bar hopping when we went into the restaurant and sat at their bar. The bartender Sherrin had us cracking up and we ended up staying for a few rounds instead leaving after the one. The waiters and waitress on the other hand were talking so loudly at a table next to the bathrooms that I could hear them bashing their customers. They were completely unprofessional and I wouldn’t be surprised if they haven’t lost a few customers because of it. Im only giving 4 stars because of our bartender, we had an amazing time because of her. Thank you Sherrin!

I was so anxious to eat here after having enjoyed it many times in Rehoboth Beach growing up. I got mozzarella sticks and wings to start with. Both were served piping hot, and both were tasty, so I was stoked for my pizza to hit the table.
I don’t know what went wrong, but I was so disappointed with my personal pizza! It had way too much sauce and was almost impossible to eat without a knife and fork. Depressed, I reached over and nibbled on my son’s uneaten slice of cheese pizza from his kid’s meal. Bingo! This was the pizza I remembered and loved. Maybe I made it too complicated by putting too many toppings on my personal pizza? It definitely had too much sauce, though.
I will give them another shot the next time I come back!

Hard to say because we never got to try the food. We were seated and asked to be moved to a table with an umbrella due to the threat of rain. Never waited on after the move. We will try again tomorrow since we aw staying at the Commander Hotel. Keep it simple and they will probably get it right.
