1st star — location — a block away from the ocean. Nice and quiet street(but we went at the end of November so it may be quite different in the summer). A few blocks away from main avenue in Ocean Grove and a 10 mn walk max to Asbury Park(there’s a bridge not far to go to town) and the boardwalk is a block away. 2nd star — Staff friendliness. Vicky took the time to answer my emails before we arrived. Once there, she gave us a map and different tips, also mentioned events for the weekend. The place has an entire binder full of menus of the local restaurants. I appreciate the efforts put to organize that. 3rd star — lovely building /quaint, cozy room(and clean!). We had a king bed(mattress too soft for us). Decent size. Have seen bigger but why complain about the size while you’re a block away from the beach and should be outside anyway?! There was a fridge in the room. TV, DVD player. WIFI really good(had to work that weekend and depended entirely on it!) 4th star — everything else. Nice continental breakfast(complimetary), large selection(hard boiled eggs, different pastries, fresh fruits, yogurts, bagels, juice, cereals, teas, coffee etc), beautiful porch. Fireplace. Would love to come back!!!

My wife and I stayed here for a night in October 2015. We liked the place very much. It’s just the right size for us: bigger than a B&B but smaller than most hotels. The hotel staff was nice, the breakfast was good, the common spaces were pleasant and well-equipped, and the hotel room was very good(excellent bathroom, good TV, nice décor and good bedding). The rooms do not have ocean views, but the breakfast area on a 2nd floor outdoor porch offers great views of the large park(along Ocean Pathway) and views of the ocean in the distance. The 2nd floor outdoor porch must be wonderful during the summer, but in October they had lowered a series of thick plastic sheets that sheltered the porch from the cold and the breeze. The plastic sheets are transparent, allowing us to see out, but they are not totally transparent so you get somewhat of a fuzzy view when the plastic sheets are lowered. The porch is a nice place to have breakfast, either way. The location is great — it’s an easy walk to the ocean and an easy walk to the commercial area in the center of town. We got a Groupon rate for our Superior room, and it cost about $ 115/night in mid October. I imagine prices are much higher normally, but I like this place so much that I would be willing to pay more for a stay during the warmer months. We hope to go back to this inn. We recommend it.

Staff is very friendly. Room was decent. A little on the small side but it worked anyway. Breakfast was good. It is a Continental breakfast and contained hard boiled eggs, cereal, breads, bagels, muffins and an assortment of other cakes and pastries. It can get crowded as the breakfast is shared with two hotels. The location is convenient to the beach, the fr e at auditorium and the main street shops and restaurants.

We just spent our anniversary at the Ocean Plaza and we’ll definitely be back. Vicki and her team are available, helpful and friendly; the inn itself is charming. While I wasn’t thrilled with our room, it was the one available with a king-size bed and my husband is 6’5″ so a queen isn’t as comfortable for the two of us. But everything else was lovely. I have to rave about their supposedly-continental breakfast. Yes, there were no eggs or pancakes but there were at least 10 different types of breads/pastries including a fresh, hot bread pudding(yum!), sausages, hard boiled eggs, fruit, juice coffee(hot and iced), cereal — a wow of a continental breakfast! Plenty of on-street parking but I could see this as a challenge during the high season! And a short walk to a lovely beach BUT Vicki — why do you charge $ 10 per person for beach badges when they are less than that at the beach entrance? We’re already planning to return in late September(my favorite time at the Jersey shore).

Location, location, location! Charming b&b with lots of thoughtful touches. Fridge in room, hearty continental breakfast served on the second floor porch. About a block to the beach, right at the entrance. We had a perfect beach holiday! It is a dry town, so Byob. Walls are thin, only complaint. But it is a historic building so understandable.

My husband and I just came from a relaxing 2 night stay at the Ocean Plaza. Everything about it was wonderful! Short walk to the beach & a 10 minute stroll up the boardwalk to asbury park’s nightlife. The Inn had all the creature comforts — porch with rocking chairs & couches, more than adequate continental breakfast(complimentary) and nice accommodations. Thick towels & upscale toiletry items. Fridge in the room to keep wine cool(OG is a dry town — all restaurants are BYOB). We’ll definitely be back!
