So we had a pine tree in our back yard that turned brown and started dropping needles like it was snowing, WIth all of the tree service companies in the area I chose to give Brummer’s a call because I’d seen their trucks around more than the other tree service companies and because they are local. It was a great choice. Keith Brummer came by the next day and identified the damage as the work of the pine borer. There was nothing for it but to take down the Christmas tree planted thirty years ago. We were going away for the weekend and Keith had a pretty full schedule, but he thought he could have it down by the end of the coming week or the beginning of the following. Good enough I thought, and off we went. When we returned Sunday afternoon, everything seemed as it had been. But, looking out the back window, something seemed wrong with the tree — it seemed to be listing towards the house. I went out for a closer look and noticed that the bird house, which normally was at eye level, was now level with my shoulder. Alarmed, I called Brummer’s and left a message explaining that the tree was listing towards the house. 45 minutes later, Keith Brummer arrived to examine the situation. He agreed that the tree was listing toward the house, but didn’t think the tree would fall that night. He told me he would re-schedule some other jobs and have a crew take the tree down the next morning. True to his world, a two man crew arrived at 8:30 and had the whole tree down in a couple of hours. It was a remarkable thing to watch. The crew cleaned up the yard, trimmed some other trees while they were there and moved on to the next job by noon. A week later, they came by with the stump grinder and took care of the stump as well. I hope I never have to take another tree down, but if I do, Brummer’s is the service I’ll use. You should too.
