The only way this place is still in business is because dummies like me keep walking in before checking the Unilocal reviews, as I can’t imagine they do much repeat business. Went with my daughter who has a very short boys haircut and just wanted a trim. I didn’t think to ask the cost, as the prices were clearly marked and the most expensive service was a regular cut for $ 15. When my daughter sat down the female barber asked her is she was a marine. WTH. she’s 14. After spritzing her hair with water from a spray bottle and literally just trimming the back and bangs and in the chair for about 5 minutes, she charged me $ 20!!! They very obviously do not want female customers. Now I see from the reviews that we are not the first women to get poor service. Their loss. with so many people today wearing their hair short, they are missing out on alot of business.

I went here with a friend, the both of us wanted haircuts and we were told the girl who cuts women’s hair was not there. We don’t have women’s haircuts, we have men haircuts we left feeling weird about it but decided to get over it, their loss.

I’m not sure how there are kids pictures on here. When I took my 5 year old son, the barber pretty much refused to cut his hair. What a way to run a business.

Showed up yesterday and there were 2 barbers, the guy who is learning to cut hair and the heavyset Hispanic woman who argues with customers. I sit and wait figuring this place works just like any other and they cut hair on a first come first serve basis. Well, the guy who is learning to cut hair is struggling with a customers hair and the heavyset Hispanic lady is assisting him by giving him tips. I wait for about 5 minutes and instead the woman decides to sweep. An older gentleman shows up 10 minutes after I did(I’m still the only person waiting to get a haircut) and the heavyset woman takes him and says to me, «just wait a couple of minutes until he(the guy who is learning how to cut hair) is done». So I wait a few more minutes. The guy gets done doing the haircut and his customer is not happy whatsoever with the results. At that point I get up and leave. NEVER coming back to this place again. COMETOTHISPLACEIFYOUWANT A HALFASSEDHAIRCUT, IFYOUWANTTOWAITANDSEEOTHERCUSTOMERSGETPRIORITYOVERYOU, ORIFYOUWANTTOARGUEWITHTHEBARBERS. This place is a damn joke.

If you decide to go only get your hair cut by Fallyn. She usually works Sunday afternoons and consistently gives a great cut. Otherwise the two male barbers are very hit or miss with their cuts. Most recently I provided instructions that were completely ignored, I even highlighted what I didn’t like from my current cut. After the barber wasted most of my time talking rather than cutting I decided I would rather suck up a bad haircut for a week rather then try to get him to fix his mistakes. If I ever go back I will join the line and only get my hair cut by Fallyn.

This is the second time I’ve tried to get a hair cut here. Last time it was the middle of the day and and they were gone. Like others have said don’t show up on time. They’re not there and the guy I went to seemed to bothered to do his job. I asked for skin and it wasn’t short enough, he said it was skin. So I guess you argue with customers here? Don’t waste your time on this place.

The redhead with glasses who goes by Fallyn is awesome. She always does a good job and goes the extra mile. She loves her succulents cactuses. and has good conversation every time. So if you need a cheap shrink she’s your girl !!

Well wow. I rarely leave a one star review, but this place deserves even less. Back story… Came with my friend to get a hair cut. We walk in and it’s completely empty except the fellow working who is sweeping. My friend nicely says, «I was wondering if I could get a hair cut?» The man blatantly and sternly says«NOWOMEN». Now my friend, who I will admit is a WOMAN, reaffirmed her position and said«oh well no I understand, I want a guy’s cut anyway» and again the guy says NOWOMEN. My poor amazing friend at this point is confused and says«Even if it’s a buzz?» and again, the man just looks at us and says no women allowed. She has short hair, like a gentleman’s cut, and just wanted it trimmed. A woman’s head of hair is no less sensitive or undeserving of a cut than a man’s. I’m not even going to admit that I think this establishment is homophobic, but for crying out loud, I go to my own salon and see men in there all the time, and not once do I think this is a women’s only salon. It doesn’t matter. It’s a freaking hair cut. I understand if a woman came in to a barber shop expecting a perm and highlights, and realized it’s not that kind of place. Maybe I’m ignorant but I know this can’t be the case, because my friend has gone to PLENTY of barber shops that appear men only and have been treated like a valuable customer no matter what her gender or preference is. They have clippers, scissors, just what she needed. They were empty and they turned away business and now I’m labeling them as homophobic. Way to go. So my poor friend and I leave. This didn’t even happen to me and I even felt disgusted. I can only imagine how my friend must be feeling. Never again will I come back, not that I could anyway since I am a WOMAN. We will be contacting the BBB about this for sure.

Relatively cheap haircut that was done very well and quite quickly. You don’t need to make an appointment and you can pay with card. I would recommend this place for sure.

My husband went there today and Zaida did a wonderful job! He looks all cleaned up and spiffy. He did not have to wait either. Nice place.

Took my 85 year old father for a shave. I didn’t get the name of the girl who worked on him but she was wonderful! Not only did she give him a nice, clean shave… she trimmed his eyebrows, shaved the«old man» hair on his ears and even trimmed up his hair… all for only $ 6. Will definitely take Dad back when he’s ready for a haircut. Someone mentioned the wait time being long… I believe that it’s due to the barbers taking their time to get it right… don’t mind waiting for that!

Excellent barbers, take the time to do it right. The only drawback is that the lines take a little long to clear out; anticipate a long wait when you’re in line to get a trim.

I don’t always get a haircut… but when I do I prefer Zaida at Hidden Barber Shop. She knows how to keep my old pâté in shape.

Long overdue update on this shop, since it moved from the Dick’s Sporting Goods mall to a location right near the College Blvd Sprinter train stop. Unlike the other location, this place has plenty of room where you can stretch your legs without kicking the guy in the chair getting his hair cut. The barbers here know their business, they have drinks(soda, tea, water) available for sale while you wait, and a restroom for the patrons too. But with the changes, somethings remain the same. And that is, a flat screen TV to watch while getting your hair cut, a semi hidden location that can’t be easily seen from Oceanside Blvd, and I’ve never experienced a long wait going here.

I’m not sure if the barber I had knew how to really cut hair, but if I didn’t request a 1.5 clipper buzz all over, I really don’t know if he could. He must’ve buzzed my head about 5 times before he finally finished. I understand he wanted to get all the hairs even, but he spent 40 minutes doing a buzz cut. I asked for a line-up all over, but he only did my forehead and not the sides. I was disappointed but he gave me my coupon back to use«next time.» I lined up my hair at home because upon looking closer, he did it crooked.
