Customer Service Review:
I am a resident of a nearby town and just realized this bakery is here. I will be back based on the pastries I’ve tried, they were delicious.
However– from the moment I was there to the moment I left the customer service was terrible.
I don’t know the young ladies name but she spent the entire time complaining to her coworkers while customers could clearly hear since. I get everyone has a bad day but if the desserts were not good I would not have gone back just based on my experience with her!

Absolutely loved my wedding cake. They helped me design the cake, but not only was it beautiful it was delicious. Everyone asked for more and the delivery was on time and very well handled more then satisfied and pleased !! Thanks marios

Absolutely terrible customer service. I cannot stress that enough. Trying to place an order over the phone for a cake is nearly impossible. I was told the cake I wanted could not be ordered over the phone but they would have them in store I went and they did not have any. Another time my fiancé ordered me a birthday cake and they misspelled my name, it’s Michael! Overpriced and overrated. The owner is rude and the workers are terrible.

One of the best Italian bakeries around, ever since my friend LoU took over everything has really improved, all the pastries, cookies cakes pies are insanely delicious and fresh, Lou you and your staff really knock it out of the park every time!

Well !!! I will not order from hear again for sure, I ordered a tres LECHE cake for a birthday party… And man the cake we got was so dry and not moist it was terrible are guests dint even like it what a shame on me for ordering from hear !!! Never again

Received a holiday cookie package from a patient and it was no worse than your standard chalky, already-​stale, & bland old-​style cookie mix, but far from worth the ridiculous rates those things always command.

Great job on our custom cake. Mario was very helpful and easy to work with. Everyone loved it and I would definitely come back again. The design was exactly like the image presented.

Very bad customer service not attend in order of arrival. I’m from Brooklyn to make an order for a birthday party that keep coming more customers for self care and The lady says to wait until the line ends but the line does not end is completed, do not recommend Mario’s bakery to anyone.

A friend had given me a tray of their brownies. They come precut which makes it easier to share with everyone and makes us all have equal parts. Good in my house, no «he has the biggest piece no fair!» They we’re hard too put down. They’re not dried out. A bit fudgey. The ganache tops it off too. Absolutely delicious! Making a trip there soon!

The tres leches and vanilla custard cake was delicious the decorations on the cake were beautiful

I loved the Cannoli Cake. It had whip cream on the outside and cannoli cream filling. Can’t wait to go back and try other delicious cakes.

So disappointed with the cake they made for my baby’s 1^st birthday. The cake slid halfway off of the tray, they didn’t write happy birthday on the cake like I requested (it was written on the tray) and they wrote the wrong name on it! I will never come back here again.

I wanted to buy a cheesecake to celebrate a birthday. I didn’t want to drive out to the cheesecake factory so I opted to try a local bakery 3 towns away. Its been there for years and a friend suggested I give it a try. I bought a cheesecake topped with strawberries and a loaf of bread yesterday. The cheesecake was basic, I wouldn’t buy it again. And I’ve had lots of cheesecake from various locations. Such a disappointment I just can’t seem to find a good bakery nearby.

This is a great bakery and it is always clean, bright and packed with so many amazing cakes, pies, cookies, breads and pastries. I have been shopping here for many years — even before they remodeled — and they are the best Italian bakery on Long Island. I was there on Easter Sunday and got their sesame cookies, pignoli cookies, hazelnut biscotti, mini cannolis, and sfogliatelle and they were all amazing, as usual.
Their carrot cake (made in strips) used to be great too but I haven’t bought one of those in a long time. I’ve never ordered a birthday or occasion cake here since for me, those must all be made by Whistle Stop in Oceanside but I’ve been buying the cookies mentioned above for a long time. I’m sad to see so many bad reviews about the custom cakes and the poor customer service people experienced but the counter people I’ve always dealt with each of the times I’ve been there are always all so sweet and friendly.

Unfortunately I took 2 stars away.
I ordered a cake for my son’s birthday party, this past weekend.
Though I was satisfied with it’s appearance, after pointing out that they put a U instead of an O in my son’s name. Which I had to wait an extra 5 mins to get fixed. And the the captain American symbol was much smaller then we discussed.
But I took the cake and rushed to the party. Everyone commented on how cute the cake was. My very tired son was as happy as he could be when he seen it. Later when he was more lively he told me how much he loves it.
Then I walked by some of the mothers of his classmates, whipping their teeth and lips! They were trying to rub off the deeply blue stains that the icing caused.
Of coarse I know that colored icing is dyed. But I hate the fact that the icing not only leave ur teeth colored, but Also has to have such a strong taste of dye.
There just as to be another way to get the perfect color without these flaws!!!

Still my favorite bakery on Long Island, and the Tiarmisu cake is still wonderful, as are their cookies and the bread looks great too. The remodel of the store has made it even more appealing to walk into and since my initial review in 2007, they have begun taking credit cards (probably for a few years now). I thank them for letting me in the other night when I got there on a Saturday at 7:15, but the doors were locked. I explained to the manager that the Google listing showed them closing at 8pm, but he told me they recently changed their hours to 7pm. When I got home I also looked on their website where it also still shows 8pm (he claimed it had already been updated on the website). In either case I appreciate them letting me in.

This bakery is AMAZING!!! Every time I’ve gotten an occasion cake from them EVERYONE has asked me «where I got the cake». I also really love there bread, cakes, and pastries.
Recently I was in a bind and needed a sheet cake with hours to spare. I went to Mario’s and they NOT only accommodated my late request for a sheet cake, they made it beautiful and delicious.

I went to order a babyshower cake and left digusted with theyre cutomer service there was a girl who was trying to at least help me but it was obivous that she didnt know what she was doing and then asked help from another girl who was just rude and didnt want to be bothered i asked for suggustions and got absolutely nothing so I left then I decided to give it a second try and a gentleman help me end result was a delicious moist tres leche and strawberry shortcake… I was dissapointed that i got a yellow cake when i originally asked for a white cake thats to show that he wasnt completely listening to my request but he was a much better help then the other 2 put together I would of rated a 5 but im big on costumer service remmeber people dont have to spend their money where they dont feel welcomed..

Mario’s is simply the finest Italian Bakery I’ve experienced in my 6 ½ years living on Long Island.
When my wife and I were planning our wedding, we took terrible advice from our event planner and looked at several «chic/​boutique» bakeries that wanted upwards of $ 600 for a 125 serving cake!
Mario’s gave us exactly what we wanted for under $ 200 and everyone commented on how wonderful the butter creamed cake was. Definitely recommend!
