Went there today and I had to request for my drink after 15 minutes, got my food and had to grab my own napkins. bad service. Short staff. I also had to request for a refill.

I want to preface this review that the customer service here is awesome! The two guys that wear the company’s blue shirts were incredibly helpful, polite, and friendly. I wish there were more people like them in the restaurant business. So this was my first time here and I had a really difficult time choosing my entrée because so many things looked amazing! I ended up ordering a combination plate that had a fish taco, lobster taco, rice, and beans. My husband ordered a lobster burrito that came with a side salad. The chips and salsa they bring to your table are awesome! Actually, the chips and salsa were my favorite part of the lunch. They also have a salsa bar with two other red salsas, two green salsas, and hot carrots. I liked all but the tomatillo salsa. My lobster taco was not very good. I appreciate the large pieces of lobster, but there was no noticeable seasonings to add flavor… just too many slices of green bell pepper. I felt like it needed something like butter, seasonings, something. The fish taco, while not bad, could have been a lot better. I liked the crisp cabbage and fresh pico de gallo, but the fish was one huge piece of fried fish, which made it hard to manage in a taco, and it had mayo on it instead of the crema white sauce that I’m used to having with seafood tacos/burritos at other places. The refried beans were good, but the rice had no flavor. My husband didn’t care for his lobster burrito because he too wanted a creamy white sauce. When we asked if they had one, the nice guys said that they had mayo, ranch and a «fish sauce». My husband asked for the fish sauce and it turned out to be what tasted like ketchup mixed with sour cream. Although my first time here wasn’t as good as I was hoping, I’m not ruling it out. I want to come back and try their ceviche, shrimp dishes and chicken/carne asada dishes. * They have a coupon in the Entertainment Book for buy-1-get-1-free.

Mariscos Ensenada is a family owned restaraunt located is in Oceanside. This place is known for their seafood dishes and is always packed. You know that’s always a good sign when looking for a place to eat. Tons of people can’t be wrong. Among the dishes we ordered were the camarones Ensenada, filete a La Diabla, Camarones a La Diabla and a small shrimp cocktail. All were delicious. The fish was cooked to perfection. It’s so easy to over cook seafood. This fish was tender and juicy. The one plate that really surprised the hell out of me was the camarones diabla. What the crap? 6 shrimp? Really? Come on guys. I came here because I was hungry. Either you thought I was on a diet or your being cheap. Sorry, gotta be honest. Other that that, the food was great. Oh yea, service was great too.

Born and raised Southern Californian, we definitely know our way around great Mexican food. My family and I were craving some soul food! I’m always passing by this area and always see it from El Camino Real, but never really stop in. Upon my discovery, my hunger pains were directing me towards chicken tacos. I decided on the chicken taco combo and family ordered beef tacos. Usually you can tell if a Mexican food place has good food by their beans and those were delicious, but unfortunately the chicken tacos weren’t. They were highly deceiving tacos because they had plenty of tomato, lettuce, cheese, lots of chicken, but the chicken was more fajita style because there were bell peppers in my taco too. I love fajitas just not in my tacos! Although it looked amazing, it was pretty bland. I had to add tons of salt and salsa to make it somewhat worthwhile. My family said the beef tacos were ok and not the best. While the people are super friendly here, I probably won’t be coming anytime soon.
