I just had the Albacore Tuna on squaw bread(with everything but onions) and it was delish! Everything tasted very fresh and I love the bread(it’s a brown bread, kind of sweet). Would highly recommend. Will be back!

This is what I consider mid-week lunch heaven. I work pretty close to this location, so we order pretty frequently from here and I have never been disappointed. The subs are amazing, but they are by no means a healthy meal. On a diet? Not to worry, Submarina Oceanside West is very accommodating and can turn any sub into a salad. I love having the honey mustard chicken salad, their honey mustard is amazing, the chicken is cooked perfectly and their greens are always fresh.

Love their squaw bread it’s my favorite and makes the sandwiches. The service was great today and they were very helpful in picking the best sandwich. Will definitely be coming back for more of that bread.

I love submarina but this was the worst sandwich experience ive ever had with a restaurant. At first glance the store itself was unkempt at best. Hot as heck with one sad fan in one corner of the room; flies buzzing around everywhere in the food; 2 girls behind the counter who looked like theyd rather be literally anywhere else; just overall dirty and unwelcoming. Still my companion wanted a sandwich and we were in hurry so we(being the only people there) proceeded to order. I got a tuna melt on squaw bread and at first i asked for pepperjack cheese but 2 seconds later changed my mind to cheddar. The girl asked if smoked cheddar was okay and i said yes so not being able to see over their case of bread to see her actually placing the cheese on the bread i moved down the line. Now im in food services in pretty much the exact same setting as submarina or subway or chipotle… Etc, so i know when it gets really busy and people tell you all the things they want at one time and all of a sudden you have to remember 7 whole orders and help the next people it gets difficult and sometimes you have to ask again what they wanted. But the next girl, after i stated«only mustard for me please» asked not once not twice not even 3 times, but SIXTIMES what i wanted on my sandwich; every time i gave the same response«just mustard please». SERIOUSLY? Pay attention!!! I was the ONLY person in line. In addition to that mess, the toppings on the line lettuce tomatoes etc looked old tired soggy gross inedible etc… All of the above. It wad all just sitting there in the hear with flies everywhere all day so understandable it was expiring quickly. The most noticeable was the avocado though which was probably the saddest looking sliced avocado ive seen in a restaurant(including subway). It was browning and obviously mushy as heck totally unappetizing. So after my back and forth with this girl i finally made it to the cash register where a big loud guy who i can assume was the owner rung me up(hed been standing off to the side watching this all occur while loudly trying to make small talk across the room with my companion who was trying with the same amount of difficulty to communicate his order) so we paid got our sandwiches to go and drove home where upon biting into my tuna melt i realized the first girl, after double checking cheddar was what i wanted continued to put pepperjack on my sandwich! Needless to say it was a bad experience a crappy store and i will not be back. Overall it was unclean unfriendly and untrained.0 stars

Favorite place for sandwiches(along with red and white market in south Oceanside). Love everything about this place. Always clean and staff is friendly. They offer sprouts so can’t go wrong with that. A little pricier but for the quality it’s just about worth it.

The food was fresh, the bread was very soft. Staff was friendly and attentive to our needs. Clean, convenient location. They have beer here too, didn’t know that. Daily combo specials $ 7.99, each day something different. I prefer a sandwich from here than Subway for sure, I rather pay the extra $ 2.00 and get full on a 6′ than the 6’s from Subway. Like the frequent purchaser card, fill it up and get one free 6′ sub.

quite disappointed! i wanted submarina because i wanted a good sub sandwich. So i arrived there around 8:30 and noticed it was already closed! even though on the website it reads open till 9pm. Nobody was inside and the blinds were already down, i mean if you wanted to not make money then might as well close at 7.

I love coming here on my lunch break. The girls are very quick which I appreciate since im always on a time crunch. Ashley is usually the one that makes my sanwich and she is a sweetheart! I could only give 4 stars because the last few times I’ve come, they were out of squaw bread and I think that’s worth a star.

Every time I go in the bread tastes fresh(unlike Subway) including last nite when we went in around 7. I had a veggie sandwich and my husband had the Baja. Both were delicious. To get 5 stars Submarina needs to offer more veggies like red pepper and cucumber. But I did learn last nite that you can order spring mix lettuce instead of the iceberg lettuce.

Definitely not the best Submarina experience I’ve ever had, but not awful. I think they might of just been having an off day. We came in on a Sunday and their chip selection was totally wiped out… they didn’t have my or my husband’s go-to fave, which is a big part of our sandwich eating experience(we like to put the chips inside the sandwich). How does a sandwich place not have chips stocked at all times? Apparently, the toaster was also not working, which is a huge bummer if you walk in visualizing a nice toasty sandwich. Anyways, our sandwiches still tasted good and my husband was stoked that they now serve beer. We received a free water, which made up for the poor chip selection and earned them an extra star for this trip. When we first walked in I was thinking we should have gone to Port of Subs and when we left, I was thinking that I’ll definitely give them another chance in the future.

This is THEBEST submarina location around. Everything is always so much fresher than the Carlsbad or Vista locations. I love the Cali sub on wheat, YUM! The honey mustard is SOGOOD! Also, this location just started serving beer and wine. The TV always has surf videos on which I love.

First time here & it was amazing! Customer service was good. Sandwiches were perfect But the reason I gave them 4 stars not 5 star cuz the chips I got were pass expiration date. Which is not cool man.

Not sure why, but I went in despite the bad reviews because I was in the area and hungry for a sandwich. Holy crap! I was blown away. These reviews are old and couldn’t be farther from what this place is. First, this place is rad. Surf movies playing, cute, friendly girls making sandwiches, and a great vibe overall. I ordered the Cali sub(Turkey, Bacon, Avocado…) and it was great. The avocado was not just a few thin slices, it was hunks and fresh. Being this close to Fallbrook, you should expect nothing less than fresh avocado and this place delivered. The bacon was not skimpy either. Thanks! It was a sandwich. What more can I write really. I just want to acknowledge the fact that this place is not a 2 ½ star sandwich joint. It is far better than that. There were no grumpy«sandwich artists» making a sandwich under duress. There were cute chicks making the sandwich I wanted, not what I expected. I asked if there was new management and they said there was new ownership. Well done new peeps. I give them 5 stars because they made my sandwich better than I had expected and gave me great service and were nice. Not much to ask in any business but sadly, the exception not the rule now a days.

Moderate quality for a Submarina. I came here to get two Sandwhiches. Two of the three attendants helping seemed to be busy with a conversation that appeared to be work related but it distracted the third as she was trying to take make my sandwhich. They appear to keep avacado pre-cut for sandwiches, this is normally a poor practice unless you enjoy brown avacado. Their lettuce was on the verge of browning but it still appeared green, just you know, it was a little too soggy. The price was excellent, two HUGE sandwiches for not too much money. I will continue to come to this Submarina as well as other Submarina franchises.

Bad food poisoning!!! I got a turkey sandwich on wheat bread & afterwards I became super ill. This was over two weeks ago and I’m still having digestive upset. :( I even tweeted to Submarina without any response back. Never going to eat there again!!! EVER!

A very delicious place to eat but the problem is that they’re kind of expensive. They were just plain dead, no customers at all. The food was good and the service was friendly but Port of subs is wag better for the price.

It used to be that I could tell the difference between Submarina and Subway, but it’s difficult now. I do still believe that Submarina has better quality ingredients and a different variety of subs. However, my last experience didn’t impress me much. I ordered the veggie on sliced squaw. The bread tasted a little dry/stale, not the moist and flavorful bread I remember. The sandwich overall, just wasn’t as tasty. The employees are SUPER friendly and nice and the store is ALWAYS clean. I’ll still go back, maybe the stars just weren’t aligned quite right that day…
