Negril Jamaican Restaurant

I have eaten here 3 times this week. The portions are huge and at a great price. Very friendly staff. The coco bread is to die for. I have everything but the host and it is delicious.

Favorite new discovery right near my job in Ocoee! I was on a quest for something «good» for lunch… How have I been missing this place?!
It’s a small café/​bodega style with a counter to order at, 3 huge drink coolers and 4 small tables.
The aromas as you walk in are just amazing!
Best advice– come hungry. The portions are massive, and the prices are just right.
There’s the usual mild and spicy beef patties, chicken patties, fried dumplings (festival), rice n peas, plantains, curry goat, cabbage slaw. It’s wise to get the curry goat early. There’s a soup of the day, but don’t expect the soup until around 1p as it is made fresh everyday. Whatever you choose– you will not be disappointed.

First visit and probably last. Service was fair and food was good but they were out of everything I asked for and had to settle for what was left. To say I was frustrated is an understatement. Might as well call it the mystery diner and just serve random food. That way expectations are level set.
This is no way to run a business. Maybe a food truck at best. If you have a menu for people to choose from, you better guarantee they will get what they choose. Otherwise, don’t provide a menu, or add a large disclaimer that everything is subject to availability.

My favorite new discovery! And so glad that it’s located just around the corner from my house. We’ve tried many other Jamaican and Guyanese restaurants around the Orlando area but this one is definitely the best.
Their Ox Tail is one of the single best dishes around. I’m slightly ashamed to admit that I’ve literally eaten their Ox Tail 4 times in the last week! I’m starting to think I may be addicted. Their Brown Stew chicken is really good too (my wife’s fav), along with their spicy beef patties! So broaden your horizon a bit, go here, and try something new! You won’t be disappointed.

This is my favorite spot in Ocoee. I don’t know if all Jamaican food is this good or not, but this place is excellent! 5 stars!

The customer service is horrid. It’s like the girls think they are doing «us» (customers) a favor by serving our food. I’ve come here many times because it’s the closest to my home and every time has been the same experience. I will not be going back because no one deserves to be treated so nasty when I am a paying patron. I’ve decided to drive further out for the same quality food as they don’t serve anything special here for me to keep coming back and putting up with attitudes.

The food here is fresh and tasty! I ordered rice and peas with oxtails. The oxtails were falling-​off-​the-​bone tender and juicy and the portions were large! Try it!

Customer service is HORRIBLE! I’ve been here twice in the past 2 years and customer service is abysmal. Food is mediocre.

Visiting from Chicago and Unilocal’d this place. Did take and it was excellent Jamaican. My wife is from Jamaica and loved it. Oxtail and jerk chicken and patties yum yum

The curry chicken was amazing. Yum yum yum. This is more of a walk in and get the food and leave type place.

You know that feeling of stupidity you get when you find out that the restaurant you’ve driven by on numerous occasions turns out to be really good?
I do.
So it turns out Negril offers up some really tasty food. I ordered one of their Lunch Specials, Jerk Chicken + Rice & Beans + Cabbage, for only $ 4.99! They had about 5 – 6 options on their lunch menu so I know I’ll be be back a few times to see what’s best. The jerk chicken was perfectly tender and delicious, although I wish the spice level was higher; I also wish the portion of the chicken was larger as well, but I was served a large portion of rice and cabbage so I didn’t leave hungry. The rice and cabbage were tasty as well; the rice wasn’t dry at all and the cabbage actually had taste as opposed to just being steamed.
I ordered a Spicy Beef Patty because… well, because I wanted to. I almost went back up to the counter to order 5 more parties because damn, that was a good patty. Maybe it’s because I love spicy foods, but I also wish the patty was spicer or that at the very least they had complementary hot sauce.
The only negative would be their service; they seemed very indifferent towards me and the customers that followed. One of the customers asked what an item was (we aren’t all Jamaican or culinarily inclined) and the cashier seemed annoyed that she would be asked such a question; it was pretty rude. Either way, in this case I’ll put up with the less than stellar customer service as long as the food remains tasty.
I’ll definitely be back.

Ox tail is awesome and they serve large portion. Love their food.
This is a local restaurant so that their appeal does not compare to a signature restaurant, but they can cook.
Be patient, their service is a little slow it it will be worth it.

All it takes is a bad experience for me to give this place 1 start. Walk in there after coming home from work one day to get some food and the service is so poor. Horrible experience at this place. I know a few people that eat here all the time but just because of that experience I wont ever be returning. The food is alright but I rather support people and business that appreciate your business and presence when walking into their establishment. I work in Longwood, Florida and passed up a Jamaican restaurant out there by the name of Island Sizzle to come get food closer to home but boy was that a mistake. The only reason I am not giving them a 1 star is because one of the few times I have been in there the food was pretty decent but their mac and cheese always smells like its spoiled.

I’m not sure what all the complaining is about, but I ordered oxtail and curried goat here recently and the food is awesome! If there were problems with this place in the past, they must have listened, because I would definitely recommend this to anyone that loves great Jamaican food. I have Jamaican co-​workers that go here all the time and sing their praises!

Food is top notch (at least the sides, which is what I got), but customer service is terrible. The mac n cheese in particular is very good and is unlike any I’ve had before, managing to be both savory and sweet (possibly from coconut milk?). Try the peanut drink.

Their food is just OK, they are in a great location. I do agree that customer service is very poor. not very friendly. Also their Jamaica Patties SUCK! hardly any meat and there is a weird after taste. such a waste of a good location if they do not improve.

The food at this place is so so good at anytime of the day, must eat at this place !!!
