So, during a recent bout with the flu(don’t ever get sick.. .EVER!) I picked up a prescription that was pretty powerful. After reading the bottle label and the risks involved, I decided not to put it in my precious body. So what to do with it? I took it back to the pharmacy, because that’s where it came from. And of course, they would not take it back. I had heard of a community drug take back program available in the Ocoee area, and since I drive by the police department frequently to pick up SBUX, I figured why not drop it off. Now, how should a person properly dispose of unused or outdated medications to prevent harm to others? I have heard of things like mix it with kitty litter and throw it in trash, and the toilet. But instead of trying to sort it all out, I decided to leave it in the drug drop box in the police department lobby after blacking out the bottle label. I think it’s a great service, especially if you have medications that kids or teenagers can get into. I wonder if this works for illegal drugs.. .maybe someone who gets tricked into drug smuggling could drop the goods in and save their asses before getting caught and ruining someones life – I watch way too much«locked up abroad.» FDA link on how to dispose of medication Now, I do have one gripe with Ocoee. Not sure if it’s police department issue. It’s the photo red light ticket. I think it’s more a money making venture than safety related and I was seriously angry when I ended up paying a ticket for turning right on red. It had one of those«stop here on red» signs with an arrow. I’m getting upset thinking about this right now, so I’m going to stop. Yes, quite an abrupt ending.
