This Publix is on the corner of Silver Star and Clarke Road. Publix is Publix. No other grocery store is as diverse, clean, customer centered, yet also expensive. You pay for the quality. However, due to convenience and sometimes not wanting to stand in line all day, I know I can go to Publix and get in and out quickly with a smile. This location has a liquor store next door, also, so you can’t go wrong there! Something a bit odd about this store, is it is large, but the meat department is smaller than in other stores. Service with a smile, diverse products, and cleanliness… that’s why we all go to Publix. oh and for the BOGO’s!

I noted that the reason this location has a 5 star rating is because there is only 1 review. The truth is that in 2013, I may have given a much better rating too. The manager, Ira, was always on top of everything but he retired. The only reason this location gets a 2 star rating now and not less is due to the fact that management at least is sympathetic to complaints and attempts to correct them. Having said that… If something is advertised on sale then you can bet it will not be available here. The sale items are gone by the afternoon of the first day of the sale. Yes, you can wait in the customer service line and they will issue a rain check but why not just order a reasonable supply anyway. It isn’t like cans of Pepsi will spoil yet when they advertised 4 — 12 packs for $ 10 they were out of Diet Pepsi. Now for the Deli — I dare you to order the Philly Cheesesteak on 3 different days at 3 different times of the day. There is absolutely no consistency! One time the veggies are raw, or the sandwich is not hot enough to melt the cheese, or the meat is cooked until every ounce of flavor is disintegrated, or the ratio to meat is completely out of whack. Geez! This isn’t rocket science. The Meat Dept and Bakery are always helpful and willing to make custom orders so thank goodness for them. However, whenever possible, I stop at other Publix locations on the way home from work if I need something from the other departments.

Located only a stone’s throw from the older Publix in Ocoee this newer modern version has a retro flair. As always you are greeted by friendly staff and floors clean enough of eat off of(but don’t actually do it). I am always immediately impressed by their upgraded deli /bakery section which has much to offer; namely the trademark Publix sub with Boar’s head cuts. These subs trounce Subway handily(take that Dave!). The wine section at this location is also noteworthy. I am always pleasantly surprised by their plethora of tendy reds and interesting whites. There is also an impressive 3 aisles worth of freezer fare that actually contains a respectable selection of frozen dinner options. Although I concede the older Publix on West Colonial has captured my loyalty, I do find myself here on occasion. Is that cheating? So don’t pass this location up sucka! I pity the fool that does.
