This place is hit or miss! The bagels are always amazing but sandwiches are off and on. Service is very poor and the messed up orders both times when getting take out.

This rating is based on not just one visit, but five. EVERYSINGLE trip there they’ve gotten our order wrong. Every. Single. Time. The quality of the food is mediocre… hence the two stars. The servers are always-and I mean ALWAYS miserable. We keep going back hoping for a good all around experience but it doesn’t seem to want to happen.

Food was good; server worked hard, but management was TERRIBLE! As one person in my party I got placed with a server working two 5-tops and an 8-top. I waited to be seated behind the 8 people waiting for service and then got seated right next to them. More servers might have helped, but better management would have been best.

Went for my first time because I heard positive things and wanted a good pastrami sandwich. Service wasn’t great. Super slow and the waitress was not attentive and rude during the few visits. As for the food, We ordered our sandwiches hot and they were room temp. Requested mayo which didn’t come till I asked multiple times, and the sandwiches lacked substantially on the meat for both of us. Probably half what they promote on the pictures. Probably won’t be returning to too jays, Jason’s always does us right.

Is it the best food, no. It is sometimes exactly what you want or need, yes. With a wide menu of options from breakfast, lunch and dinner and with a fairly wide selection of treats and desserts, it’s definitely a good place to keep in the back of your thoughts when you’re debating on places to eat. Although going for the«Jewish NY Deli» motif and business model, you’ll find a wide selection of traditional American comfort food including, Pot Roast, Garlic Chicken Pasta, Meatloaf, Turkey Dinners and so on. It’s conveniently located, staff is typically on par and you don’t have to wait very long for your meal. Definitely worth a try. A convenient comfort.

Typical TooJay’s — the food is amazing and the service is great! This location is somewhat hard to find with the Colonial Rd. construction, but it is in a small strip mall. The parking seemed adequate for all the different stores in the strip mall. I will definitely repeat if I am in the area.

Food was really good and service was excellent! The server was very attentive and friendly. The wait time for the food was a little long, considering there were not a lot of people there. I had the sandwich/soup combo. The turkey avocado on wheat and broccoli cheese soup were delicious. All the food we ordered looked and tasted fresh. Although full from lunch we couldn’t turn down a slice of banana dream cake. It was amazing. We will come back again!

Food is pretty good. Tonight I got the Philly Cheese steak with no Onions or Peppers. So pretty much just meat and cheese. It was full of meat but barely any cheese. Two slices for the full sandwich. I ended up asking for Mayo because it was too dry. The coleslaw was also suppose to be fruit salad as well. But we waited long enough I didn’t feel like another order. Very disappointed in there Philly. Not recommended, but other food is good. Not worth the 9.99 price tag.

Not for nothing but I got food poisoning from this location. Thanks for the five days of absolute torture on my body.

Great deli. Food was delicious. Staff was very friendly. Prices were very reasonable. Probably the best deli I’ve been too. Would definitely eat there again.

Food was bland. Lacked any flavor. Fish was very mushy, tasted terrible. Worst $ 50 dinner I’ve ever had. Nothing bad happened to have it for free, the meal just lacked any passion or flavor.

I’d been driving past this Toojays for about a year and finally decided to stop in for breakfast. This is not in the tourist area. People who come here are locals. I should have kept driving. Although this is a New York deli wanna-be, it looks more like a tired Sizzler. When I walked in, there might have been three tables occupied. The host, who was obviously busy with more pressing matters, shouted across the restaurant several times«I’ll be right with you». This seems to be the Toojay’s motto since I heard it a lot. Nothing on the breakfast menu is difficult. Eggs, omelettes and waffles. But service is SLOW. I was ready to walk out when my order finally arrived. Yet everything was dried out and super heated, as though it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a long time. And it was pretty hard to find the tiny hint of cheese in my Swiss cheese omelette. The sausage patties were sad and shriveled. I’m not sure how much taste it all would have had before it got heat stroke. The high point was the rye bread which appeared to be very fresh and homemade, although probably not here. The wait for the check was another exercise in patience. Prices aren’t bad and the quantities are OK. But given the slow service and lackluster food, it isn’t worth the price, no matter how reasonable.

Man has this place gone down hill. Service used to be fast, friendly and had great food at good prices. This place seems dirty these days and the service is pretty bad. The food is still pretty decent and the prices are ok, but the cleanliness and lack of service will keep me from coming back. The people aren’t bad, it seems like a lack of leadership.

ugh! empty tables everywhere. and still a ½ wait to get extra onions all over my «no onions, please» burger & super flaccid sweet potato fries where my «extra burnt crispy, please» should have been taking up real estate. terrible representation of a Toojay’s experience.

Well I finally made it here. Always thought it was a quick service place for some reason. You can order food to-go. But they also have table service. We chose to sit down and eat. I loved the menu. So many things I wasn’t sure what to choose. Ended up getting the brisket dip sandwich which was quite good. Waitress was great. Only major complaint was that the food took forever at 2 in the afternoon. Waitress did say she was having a manager check on the food to see what was up. About 15 minutes later our food finally showed up. Kind of shocked no manager bothered to stop by and apologize or anything. Typically if that happens the manager will either bring the food out personally or stop by shortly after its delivered to check in and apologize for waiting an hour for 2 sandwiches. Never happened. It was all up to the waitress herself to get the food out to us. Also the fries were pretty crummy. Very brown and tasted like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours and not tasty at all. Had to cover mine in salt, pepper, and ketchup just to make them appetizing. This place could have had more stars but lack of good management and crummy sides haulted that. Work on your management and efficiency.

We dined in. I ordered French onion soup for an appetizer(which was amazing). My sandwich was good as well. However, our service was super slow. Our waiter took our order and didn’t come back until it was time for our check(which we waited a good 15 mins for after we were done eating). The place wasn’t busy at all, yet there were at least 8 dirty tables that never got cleaned during the duration of our visit. Not sure I will be back. Forgot to mention how expensive this place is too. There were only two of us and our bill for LUNCH was $ 45 after tip…

I met up with some friends here for a lunch visit. After looking through the menu and seeing that their chicken salads and tuna salads had abnormal items in them(boo! can’t I just get a tuna salad or chicken salad without any extra veggies or fruit in it??) I decided on a Reuben. I substituted the Russian dressing for spicy mustard. The sandwich came out PACKED with meat and cheese. I could barely get my mouth around it. It was quite tasty! The French fries are the thicker kind and they could definitely have been more crispy. I don’t like mine mushy, so I didn’t finish them all. For dessert, I had a huge black and white cookie. Delicious!

TooJay’s has been a favorite restaurant of ours for years– long before they expanded into a local chain of gourmet delis. We love the diversity of the menu and the large selection of Vegetarian items. We often visit for lunch but recently we decided to check in for breakfast. There’s the usual selection of omelets, eggs benedict and waffles. Plus they offer specialty things like Banana Fosters French Toast, Sweet Cheese Blintzes and Smoked Fish on Bagels. Chad opted for the Roasted Veggie Omelet– roasted veggies like asparagus and onions folded into an omelet with spinach, tomatoes, Provolone and Parmesan cheeses sprinkled with a lemon-herb seasoning. Served with a side of salsa and home fries, this omelet was hearty and filling. I chose the Western Skillet– a casserole with scrambled eggs, sauteed onions, green peppers tomatoes and cheddar cheese served on top of a crispy potato pancake. This dish is also normally served with ham but TooJay’s is very accommodating and happily left the meat off for me. I thought it was delicious. Even better with a few drops of tabasco sauce. Both our breakfast dishes came with our choice of rye toast. I am not a huge fan of bread, however, TooJay’s must bake their own bread in house because the bread is always so thick and fresh. They even had my favorite apple butter. Yummy. We enjoyed breakfast just as much as we love having lunch here and as usual the service was perfect. TooJay’s has 24 locations in southern and central Florida including the original in the Dr. Phillips area of Orlando. All locations are open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Well worth a visit anytime of the day.

Well I resorted to the Ruben again this next visit. Its still a favorite and the included«fries» sure nuff deceived again(actually potato wedges mind you). I’d rather they were true fries, but when you suffer from C.R.S., you will repeat unfavorable experiences again. The sweet potato fries across from me were the desire of the evening.(Well during dining hour that is.) Michelle’s service was great too.

This particular location is top notch. I’ve eaten at many others but this one has an amazing staff. The manager is AWESOME and even made it a point to toss me a free dessert when he found out I passed my medical boards. The matzo is a masterpiece and the pastrami sammy is my fave. I normally do breakfast here, which is out fast and delish! Lunch is always good and if you have room, the dessert counter is a trip through heavenly decadence. I strongly recommend a slice of the killer and carrot cakes. I’ve never had a bad meal here and the wait staff is awesome. They are all smiles and full of recommendations when you need help with a meal selection. My only complaint is the internet connection is slow and intermittent. If you need to please your belly, roll on down to Toojay’s Deli…
