Best sandwiches, gelato, and espresso in town. True Italians know their stuff! A lovely, Italian family owns the place(:

One of the better cups of coffee(espresso in coffee) ever. The coffee/espresso bean type was a great choice and the way it was brewed was excellent. Many very popular Chicago and other coffee roasters haven’t came near to executing a great cup of coffee w/espresso as great as this place. Not exaggerating, at all. Hope to return!

Golosi is a cute little gelato shop in the midst of downtown Oconomowoc. I was immediately drawn to its festive lighting and seeing cheery families walking down the street with red Golosi cups. As soon as I walk in, I was entranced by the smell of European chocolates and espresso beans wafting in the air. The gelato case was on the right side of the room, and filled with an array of beautifully-colored gelato. They were so many to choose from, with the fruit-flavored sorbets separated towards the left side of the case and the more adventurous flavors to the right. It’s apparent Golosi has fun with the flavor names because they utilize props and other fun decorations to lure you in. I settled on the Nutella and the Ferrero Rocher. Both were excellent. The Nutella was thick and creamy with the undertones of hazelnut peeking through. The Ferrero Rocher was great, and tasted just like the actual candy. Even though it was delightfully decadent, I was happy there were tiny pieces of nougat mixed in because it helped cut down the richness. Overall, both flavors made me a believer. The staff is friendly, accommodating, and disciplined. If they weren’t serving customers, they were wiping down counters or cleaning in the back. The employees working that night were fairly young, so I was thoroughly impressed by their professionalism and work ethic. I will be coming back. If not for the gelato, then definitely to try their sandwiches or caffeinated beverages. I’m now a fan of Golosi, and I think it’s a place you should try if you’re ever in Oconomowoc.

Good sized portions for the price and there’s always lots of flavor options. I am sad when they don’t have my favorite flavors out(spicy chocolate and orange chocolate!) out but always find something else to try.

A bit pricy but super good and unique to the area. I often walk the dog here, order then eat outside while people watching.

Wow, I cant say enough good things about this place. First off, the whole café is SOOOO clean! I cant beleve how spotless this place is! Even the bathroom was super clean! Second — they have tons of great flavors! There had to be like 20 flavors to choose from. The staff was super friendly and let us sample before we ordered. Will def go back!

The best treat in Oconomowoc! The gelato here is so incredibly good! All homemade, authentic, and made fresh. The owners always have a great selection to choose from. My favorite is Lemon Basil or anything with chocolate! Service is friendly. I love the outdoor seating for warm weather.

Authentic! Best coffee in Southeastern WI. The owners are very friendly. The Gelato is amazing. The sandwiches and soup are fantastic. We also buy imported cookies and olive oil there at a very inexpensive price. The menu options for meals are minimal but everything is homemade so it’s just worth it.

The gelato is fantastic, and they have quite a variety of flavors that they offer. Their portions are generous too! Lovely ambience with a decent amount of seating inside. A great little shop in downtown Oconomowoc.

I’ve been to Golosi a number of times and enjoyed it the first time. However, an increase in «customer rules» and a decrease in friendly service has helped me decide never to visit them again. 1. They only take cash. And the only sign is at the register in the back. I had several experiences where someone in the group had to run down the block, find an ATM, and run back while the cashier held their melting gelato. And once? They told us «you’d better make it back before we lock the door!» Wow. 2. They lack a customer centered experience– I purchased gelato once, walked outside, then realized I forgot to use the restroom. I returned and walked to the restroom and found that they’d recently installed locks and signage«for patrons only.» I asked for the key and as the cashier held the key out of my reach, he asked if I’d made a purchase and told that if I hadn’t, I couldn’t use the restroom… really? 3. The first time I visited Golosi, I tried several flavors and chose two for my purchase. the next time, signs were posted which said that you could sample no more than 3 flavors. On my final visit, the sign had changed to say that you could only sample ONE flavor. There is an ice cream shop directly across the street and after each hassle, I’ve seriously thought of walking right out and over to their store. 4. During the visit where I only received ONE free taste test of gelato before I committed, the 2 employees stood in front of me having a personal conversation about a friend who they were upset with. I had to interrupt the conversation several times just to get service. When I went to the register to pay, I found I was interrupting the cashier as she read a magazine and drank a beverage. She offered no help when I realized I didn’t have enough cash and, as I frantically searched for the bill I needed, with melting ice cream in my hand. She left the register, sat down at a bar stool, and kept reading her magazine. I found my money and stood there until a fourth employee came out and hollered to her that she had a customer. She heaved a sigh, left her magazine open on the counter, finished the part she was reading, THEN came to ring me up. If you don’t want to welcome and take care of your customers, I don’t intend to support you. And I do intend on letting others know of my poor experiences. We aren’t children needing to «behave correctly.» We’re customers. Woo us, and we’ll be back.

Italian owned and authentic feel and taste. I may have not opted for the pistachio but loved what I did get! The Malaga and chocolate coconut, delicious.

I’m just echoing all of the other reviewers. Great place. Very European feel. The pistachio gelato is perfect. It should be known that they’re a cash/check only establishment. We’re new Oconomowoc residents and I imagine we’ll be back many times.

I can’t say much more than has been said. If you like gelato or sorbet, this is far and away the best option in the Milwaukee area. If you are a dark chocolate fan, I highly recommend the chocolate sorbet. 70% cacao smooth, amazing and it is sorbet! Amazed they don’t have a location downtown. Remember cash only.

Do you like gelato? Bottom line: — natural(and mostly organic) ingredients — processes are of true actual Italian artisan style, all created on site by Marina and staff — everything made from scratch — worth the price, worth the wait In a world of pre-made and generic ways of doing business, Golosi Gelato combines old-world quality with new world technology all settled into the small town environment. This is a family run business which displays in its product and presentation all that panache of a multi-million customer-strong establishment. I frequent Golosi 2 – 3 times weekly as a coffee shop and have their gelato frequently as well. This is authentic, fantastic, and creative. I have even become friends with the Degiovanni family through my love for their establishment. Go there.

Yes, this place is indeed the«real deal,» and it is definitely 5-star worthy to me. Golosi Gelato Café is an affable little gelato shop, located downtown in beautiful Oconomowoc. I’ve been here a few times before, and it was a solid 4 stars, but yesterday’s experience bumped it up to 5 stars. My niece and I had a «hang out day,» and I wanted to take her here since it’s one of her favorite places. She had the lemon gelato with chocolate brownie, and I had the chocolate brownie(as well), with the chocolate hazelnut(what can I say, I like chocolate). I got to try some of my niece’s lemon and it was amazing — just the right amount of lemon, but not too much! The hazelnut chocolate was perfect. Sometimes the hazelnuts can overpower the other flavors, but this was just enough of both flavors. I found the staff to be gracious, welcoming, and very friendly. Prices are very reasonable. Golosi is a nice place to stop in after doing some window shopping and have a sweet treat.

Their authentic. homemade gelato is absolutely amazing, and the selection of imported sweets is great, too. The sandwiches and panini are very simple but flavorful, the staff is very sweet and they’ll let you try some gelato if you just can’t make up your mind — or even pick for you if you *still* can’t decide. Absolutely worth every penny(note: cash or check only). Flavors rotate, but mixing chocolate with coffee and/or a fruit is always a winner.

Delectable, authentic Italian gelato in Wisconsin! I can’t even get that in Los Angeles. The shop is adorable and perfectly situated on the quaint East Wisconsin Avenue. I felt welcome the instant I stepped inside, and that was well before I had a bite of gelato. I have the metabolism of a tortoise, so I should be a one(or none) scoop girl, but I can’t get out of Golosi without two or three scoops. This is one of my must stops for visits to Oconomowoc.
