Long Fence – Odenton MD

These guys did a fabulous job on our fencing. It was a big job — about 475″ of 6′ fencing. They were on time and finished up in only two days … Removed old fence and put up the new one. Very professional — we couldn’t be happier!

We had an experience with Long Fence shockingly similar to another review.
Our salesguy was fabulous and he was absolutely the reason we went with LF. When we contacted them for a quote, he scheduled us quickly and was on time for our appointment. He was super professional, answered all of our questions, guided us in a selection that worked for our tastes and lifestyle rather than the most expensive fence he could sell us on. He made us feel like he actually cared about us as customers. When the price came in to what I thought was reasonable, we immediately signed on the dotted line… and ended up regretting it.
As soon as they had us under contract, all sense of customer service went straight out the window. I knew the permitting process in our area was «challenging» but we went several weeks without hearing from anyone. Sales guy ignored my emails and answered phone calls rarely, keeping them brief and ambiguous — never giving any information or directly answering our questions. Just kept saying we would get a call from his scheduling guys «soon». When the «scheduling guys finally called, it was to let us know they’d be out the next day. We had to rearrange previous commitments to accommodate them at the last minute. They sub-​contracted the job out to another company who was located almost 2 hours away! They sent 5 guys out on day 1 for about 5 hours, and 2 guys out on day 2 to finish up which took about 3 hours.
They fabricated the fence on site and I have no complaints about the actual quality of the fence. It just took longer than was quoted, we didn’t receive any updates as to why, and strangely enough never heard from the company or sales guy again. We were quoted 3 – 5 weeks and it took just over 6 weeks. I have to say I was quite surprised to spend 9k on a fence and not even get a follow up call post installation. My parents are now in the market for a fence and we have strongly advised them to steer clear of Long Fence. I’m sure we could have gotten better customer service and a better price from a smaller, local company.

I used Long Fence to install a new privacy fence at one of my rental properties in DC. The property is land-​locked in the back where the fence was to be installed; 2 other fence contractors would not even give me a price after finding this out. Due to the fact that all of the new materials and old fence had to be taken through a recently renovated unit, I was a bit nervous.
The install crew was very courteous, prompt, covered the floor, completed the job in about 5 hours and the final product turned out much better than I had anticipated. They ran short on lumber and had the extra materials delivered without causing a delay. I thought they would install pre-​fab panels, but the entire fence was fabricated on site. It looks amazing, thank you Long Fence!

I called them on a recommendation from from our neighbors whom dealt with our HOA. I was not impressed by a long shot.
The first guy that we met, Don Petro, was a phenomenal person whom answered all questions and took care of our HOA paperwork. He was prompt, on time, and very personable and professional. I give him 10 billion stars! It was after dealing with him and when we started having to deal with the big corporate side we had issues.
I was thoroughly unimpressed when I found out after 2.5 weeks, they :
1) Lost our paperwork and only after I talked to them, did they find a ‘copy’
2) Never called back when they said they would, if at all (they never ever called me or my husband back)
3) Installation was supposed to call us within 10 days of being sent an email to set up a time to get our fence installed and it was on the 10^th day, I had to call them and they said they had to re-​push our paperwork through because it had lapsed. Not only that, but that was when we found out that they had LOST our paperwork and it took another week and a half to get them over to install the fence.
Installation was quick and the final product looks good.
It took a little over a month from start to finish to get our fence in. The end product was good, but I would highly suggest going with a smaller company that cares about their customers.
