Popeyes Louisiana Chicken

Sometimes your chicken is fresh sometimes its not. Sometimes your fries are cold and old and sometimes its not. This location is not consistent at all. I wouldn’t go unless you go right when they open for fresh chicken and sides!

So Popeyes can be hit or miss sometimes, but when they are on point they are one of my personal favorite fast food places. The employees were nice, and in Odessa that’s a shocker. Our food came out fast and the chicken looked fresh out the fryer. I had rice and beans and they tasted like quality fast food beans, so no complaints there. The place is clean, I mean real clean, I think it has to do with the older gentleman diligently working the dining area.

Must have visited on a wrong day, staff was short handed and take out order took about 25 minutes from time of order. The employees were good about keeping their composure during the lunch rush so I’ll give them props for that and my food was accurate so I’ll meet them half way and give them two stars however I won’t be visit this location for a while since it took half my lunch hour to get my food. Typical Popeyes, just newer.

worst experienced using their drive-​thru .I ordered the 16pc meal, the attendant tells me it will be a 30 min.wait.I said thats ok, I hear the manager in the back ground tell her it will be 45 mins to an hr, I said that was ok. Instead of just taking my order, they engaged me into an argument about how this was a special order (which i really didnt care to know, all i wanted was my order and i was willing to wait however long it took to make this special order. Then the manager gets back on the intercom to tell me again this is a special order and i was going to have to wait an hr at this point i lost it” i told her i don’t give a f*ck if it took 2 hrs… i was going to wait… they told me to just leave.

This popeyes was very good, we went through the drive thru and the lady was nice, food wait was not too long and most of us All the food was good and fresh

This Popeyes is very poorly ran. We have no idea when they are opened and closed as they have no hours posted anywhere.
I went there on a Friday night at 5:40, just into dinner rush, and they were out of white meat chicken. On a Friday night. At the start of dinner rush. Was the manager not expecting any business on a Friday night?
Will try the one in Midland next time because my wife loves Popeyes.
Ridiculous.

I’ve never tried Popeyes believe it or not, and since I’m new to the area I figured why not? Not only was the person on the speaker very hard to understand, the food was horrible ! Chicken made my stomach hurt and coleslaw was watery ! Never again !

I should have listened to the reviews before getting food here… awful service and food even worse… wouldn’t even serve it to my dog!

On January 2^nd about 6:00 PM, the weather forced an unplanned stay in Odessa, TX. Normally, I don’t eat much fried food, but it was walking distance from the Marriott and I was hungry. The other close option was a hot dog place.
The leaking ceiling and half-​full bucket of water should have been a clue, but I ordered anyway. Service was painfully slow lacked any measure of energy or enthusiasm. Other people ordered and received food, but there was no effort to get my order. No one was served fast.
I did not receive either a receipt or order number, and did not notice if the clerk actually rang up my order. In retrospect, I suspect that I was given old food and that the money from my order did not go into the till.
While waiting, I saw several people from the dining room wander back into the kitchen area. An older man wiped his nose on his sleeve, but I didn’t see him touch any of the product. While I was waiting, the fry cook told the clerk taking orders to throw away all of the food under the light because it was old. This was probably 100 pieces of chicken. No action was taken.
Anyway, I’m waiting and watching other people place orders and get served… maybe six or eight people placed and received their orders after I placed mine. When I asked about the hold up, the counter clerk said she was taking the orders first and asked if I wanted my food. Of course, «yes.» It was an order to go.
I thought maybe she was waiting for fresh food. But, there was no movement to dispose of the old food and although some additional food was added, I am pretty sure mine came from the old pile.
After leaving, I discovered why the food was supposed to be thrown away. It was old and greasy. Also, I asked for spicy tenders and got plain tenders. I asked for blackened ranch dipping sauce, but was given Bayou Buffalo Sauce. The little cup of cold slaw was about ¼ full. It was not worth eating, but I didn’t want to walk back and complain.
My suggestion is not to even consider eating this food. Cleanliness, service, and food quality were less than substandard. It was pitiful.

The service was terrible. Long waiting at the drive thru. I was not given any utensils, and no sauce that came with the meal, no napkin. This place is notorious for bad service. Unfortunately for me, i like the food so I continue to go. Always check your meal before leaving because they cannot get it right. Ordered lemonade and it was so sweet i think it gave me diabetes. This location needs a good manager that will ensure it is being run properly and that employees are trained to give excellent customer service… not attitude.

The service here is beyond slow. Slow and rude. I love Popeyes but this location is very disappointing. I will not be back.

The food have their days when they taste good or bad. The drinks are mainly water I hardly taste the actual soda. If u go through the drive-​thru it can either be very busy because if they had more then 5 cars in the line they take their sweet time and more giving people their food. At time you can notice they do 2 customers at a time and then take the next 2. As you finish paying on a slow or fast day they still take a long time getting your food. The inside is mostly clean a man would always be walking around cleaning tables but I think he’s the only one that actually puts more then a effort unlike the others

This place is so small only 10 people fit in the dining area. Had a 3 piece tenders meal. Nasty as hell. Even the biscuit was greasy. Dont eat here. Its nasty.
