Background: I have been coming here for years, late nineties early 2000s. When I went away to college over 10 years ago, this & Rosa’s were must haves. I’ve tried all their previous dishes and loved then all along with the desserts. So as you may imagine I was quite thrilled it was now open again. After reading the reviews I was hopeful they’d be wrong & Yana’s would still be European cuisine. Current food is not like the old menu, despite baring the same names for the dishes. I ordered the chicken salad salad and it was not close to what it used to be, not even a little bit. There were no fruit nor nuts; what I got was a watery chicken salad with corn in it and a few greens thrown in the mix. The salad was indeed Tex Mex Asian, taste wise– it was okay. It didn’t meet the craving. The highlight of my meal however was the lemonade– it was indeed an authentic Mexican lemonade. My sister in law had a pasta to which though good it had mushrooms cooked al dente, much like Asian cuisine. Though I didn’t try their daily specials, I was surely impressed, they had yellow curry with Serrano peppers that day as well as fish and chips(I hope it was cod or halibut but I didn’t think to ask as I was set on chicken salad). My consensus: it is good food as fusion cuisine. As long as you don’t have European cuisine as your expectation any longer. I have to agree with other reviewers this is a Tex Mex Asian Euro fusion. Does it work? Idk yet but it surely adds color to the options out here. I look forward to trying other dishes to fully have a true grasp. For now it gets a star for reopening this gem, a star for customer service, and a star for ambience. I will withhold a star for innovation until I’ve tried some other dishes. Update to follow.

Sadly Yana’s is not what it used to be. Staff was friendly and prompt, I give credit there. My favorite dish was the summer salad. It USED to be delicious, was so excited to go back and have it but was very disappointed to see it wasn’t the same as what is used to be.

What a gem! So glad to have found Yana’s. I occasionally travel to Odessa for business and found Yana’s on Unilocal. The restaurant is charming — love the set-up and the décor. The food is really good. This is officially my favorite lunch place in Odessa.

This is not at all like original Yana. They need to restyle the name. It cannot be called«European food»… maybe TexMexEuro Fusion? No clue. New owners really trashed it up. Reduced dining space, added cheesy posters under table top glass, and hiring girls too young to have sense to wait tables properly. I had the chicken crepes. The crêpe itself was crispy and burnt. The edges were BLACK. it was stuffed with chicken enchilada like filling with corn and peppers and smothered in some spicy cream sauce. Served with an unsettling side of spicy lemon pepper and tomato spaghetti. It was like a nightmare enchilada with drunk mistake spaghetti. I wanted to see if my sister was in kitchen, drunk, because her drunken inventive cooking was last time I had that much fusion on my plate. I don’t think I will ever recover. Boyfriend had the lasagna. He has awful taste and could live off cereal and totino’s and he said lasagna also had enchilada flair, which he likes. He also likes fancy hot pocket flavors… so if you are one of those people then new TexMexEuro Fusion Yana is for you. Also, pics of new, rather deceiving(as it gives you no clue of the TexMexEuro to come), menu.

When I used to live in Odessa, this was the favorite place for me. I loved the chicken crepes, and the white cream sauce, and the salad dressing on the pre-dressed salad and the flavored tea, and the pages and pages of desserts on the menu. I loved the intimate décor, the eclectic and diverse tables and chairs, and the reasonable prices. I haven’t been there since they re-opened, but I know they’ve kept it much the same and added to it, so I can only say I hope it has gotten even better. It is absolutely not wheelchair friendly though, at all. Sure, they CAN accommodate you, sort of, but it’s not easy and it’s quite uncomfortable to try.

I came to eat at this establishment because I knew the food would be great because they are cooking all of Anna’s recipes. The surprise and disappointment was that the service was the worst I’ve ever encountered. I have been a regular customer of this establishment for many years. The new owner Stella has a lot to learn about customer service.

By the far best restaurant in Odessa. The food is something that you would see on the food network channel. Innovative and delicious. I’ve been in town for business and have gone 3 days in a row.

Yana’s has reopened under new management. Much of the menu is the same with the addition of Asian Fusion per the new chef. The food is just as great as it used to be!

Cutest little restaurant ever. It is in a little house and the feeling is very European: unique, small, not a franchise. The menu is small, which is great because they really focus on the menu and the food is absolutely amazing. Small portions, and the desserts are amazing. Its a nice spot to grab lunch or brunch. I never would have thought to find a place like this in midland/Odessa. If you are looking for something different, europea, not so franchise, mainstream, come here.

Great Atmosphere — I ordered the lemon angel hair pasta & the cheesecake with cherry sauce. It was good, but slightly bland. Cheesecake was homemade, but really crumbly. Not quite as good as I hoped it would be. My friends’ dishes looked much tastier, I would go back & probably order something else.

I can not understand why everyone gives this place such good reviews. I have been here for lunch twice and both times I do not see what the fuss is about. Food is overpriced and overrated. The bread they serve taste like just plain bread from the store. First time I ordered a chicken salad croissant. It was just okay. Tasted like one from mcalisters deli but twice the price. Second time I ordered a cheese crêpe. Not good at all. I will not return here.

My favorite lunch spot in Odessa. I have to say it’s a bit girly, as it has a teahouse-like atmosphere but I know many men that looked for an excuse to eat here. The soups are amazing, yet to find one that I haven’t liked. It’s usually some kind of vegetable thats pureed to perfection. I also recommend the chicken salad on a croissant and the crepes. Plus the desserts are to die for! In the fall they have a pumpkin cheesecake that I highly recommend. Added bonus– try the free bread and butter. The butter is always a different flavor, sometimes apple, cinnamon, etc. Delicious!

This is a wonderful and unique restaurant in Odessa. I enjoy the Chicken Palachinka, which is tender, shredded chicken wrapped in crepes and drizzled with white sauce. It comes with rice and side salad. It is very good! I enjoy their potato soup and you can’t go wrong with their orange cake for dessert. It is a small house that has been converted into a restaurant, so it can be a tight fit in there and there’s almost always a crowd. If you want to avoid the crowd, get there about 11 a.m. for an early lunch. The food is top notch, though, so if you aren’t in a hurry, it’s definitely worth the wait!

Even the free bread they serve is good. The butter has a mixture of butter and orange marmalade… Very good presentation and all their staff look like models. Oh and of course the food is amazing as well! Desserts are A+

I love this place!!! The place is small but many great dishes come out of that kitchen. I would strongly recommend it if you are tired of eating the usual(burgers) or are from out of town and want to try a delicious meal.

Every time I am traveling through Odessa, I have lunch at Yana’s. Hard to believe that such a wonderful place with a tearoom atmosphere exists in Odessa. The food it is good. Just do not go if you are in a hurry. But totally worth it.

So glad to have found this gem in Odessa… The food is all good! love their chicken salad salad… It’s in a lovely little home that was a little warm on the day we visited but it was also over 100 outside. They are only open for lunch otherwise I’d eat there for every meal.
