This is a great Pizza Ranch. The staff is always friendly, the food is hot, and the buffet table is always full. A cozy setting with plenty of parking. I’ve always enjoyed eating here.

So, I’ve never been to Pizza Ranch before. Maybe you experienced buffet diners already know this, but for non-buffet eaters, here’s some important information: Their dinner buffet goes from 5PM to 7:30PM. It’s $ 10 a person for adults. When you order your buffet, they’ll ask you if you want any specific type of pizza. If you tell them you do, they’ll give you a number to put on your table. They’ll then MAKE this pizza for you, so if you want to wait for that pizza, just wait at your table until they finish it. It took about 15 – 20 minutes for them to finish the pizzas when I went. If you don’t wait for the pizza they make and just eat the buffet, I promise you’ll be close to full by the time they finish it. So that’s up to you. The buffet choices are okay. The shiny stars, and the ones that looked the most appetizing, were the pizzas. They had dessert pizzas and cheese sticks. The cheese sticks were amazingly tasty. The pizza was okay. Nothing too special. Dessert pizzas were yummy. They also had chicken, corn, a salad bar, mashed potatoes, and other things. There also was full drink choices including sodas, water, coffee, tea, and more. I stuck with the pizzas. Honestly, the non-pizza food didn’t look too tasty, but I can’t promise if that’s because I didn’t tend to eat most of those types of foods or because they just didn’t.(I love salads, though, and the salad bar didn’t look too lively, so I avoided it) The entire time I was there, the buffet was kept nice and stocked. Food was fresh. Food was changed and replenished multiple times while I was there. The décor inside is pretty nice. It’s not«fancy dining» nice, and it has a «Ranch» theme to it, but it’s modern enough, very clean, and doesn’t feel gross or like you should be concerned where you touch. Staff was going around regularly picking up plates and refilling napkins and such as we were there. They’re very attentive — which is great. Final thoughts: The food is okay. In fact, I’d eat there again. It seems a bit expensive for what it is, but the food itself was good. I just hate buffets because I tend to eat more than I should — and no nutritional information is posted anywhere about what I’m actually eating.(Which I hate). The décor is nice, the staff is nice, and the food is okay. Worth eating here if you have a group who wants to eat a little bit of this and that.

One of my two favorite Pizza Ranches in Iowa. People are always friendly and ask up front if their is a pizza you would like. The request is how I measure a Pizza Ranch, if they ask and I do not have to prompt, we are off to a great start! If you have been to a Pizza Ranch you know more or less what to expect. The buffet isn’t as large as some but it is bigger than the one in Decorah. Also, they tend to put out the buffalo(i.e. spicy) saucy chicken on the food bar which I really enjoy! Another unique thing is they often have have mashed potato with bacon and cheese in them, not healthy but delicious! The last couple of times I visited they didn’t have it but more times than not, they have! The food bar is always well stocked and they kept he fried chicken coming to the food bar! people are incredibly nice, I haven’t’ a bad word at all!
