This place has become an essential part of my morning ritual. Here’s the routine: First, I order a cup of their medium brew, then I peruse the scones and end up buying one because they are made fresh every morning. With my student discount, the total comes to about 4 dollars. I usually sit and read for an hour or two before heading to work. The atmosphere is conducive for studying and the seating is comfortable. They have cushioned chairs with wide arm rests to set your cup. If your life lacks excitement or you need good story material, come drink some joe and find what you’re looking for. And leave a tip so the higher powers bless you.

Aside from the coffee being so delicious, which it really is. The owners,(Dan & Suzy) could not be better advocates for the community. They are involved and volunteer for most Ogden events. They have a community garden for Pete’s sake! Ogden is a better place because of them! I can’t think of a better place to grab a cup of joe and I’ve been around the world!

Stopped in one day and was instantly charmed! The have house made almond milk and baked goodies! The staff were friendly and the service was excellent! If you’re in the area we definitely recommend stopping in!

Excellent coffee and excellent staff. The décor is cozy and quaint. It’s definitely the kind of coffee shop that makes you want to sit and stay for a while. They even have board games that you can borrow while you’re in the shop.

I quickly ascertained this would be my new spot, after moving. The atmosphere is great, prices reasonable(as well as student discounts), excellent food choices. Baristas are professional and friendly. They also go the extra mile here. Plenty of seating and outlets of you are here to work.

Go to this Grounds over the one on 25th. The 25th street Grounds service is slow, no one knows how to make a good espresso or Italian soda and they don’t even have 2% milk! Cutting it with home and skim does not 2% make. Go to this Grounds over that one. They’re close enough and the service here is so much better it won’t make any difference on time. And this Grounds has MUCH better drinks.

Delicious coffee and really nice staff. Lovely atmosphere with quiet space to read or hang out and a patio too. Parking is limited but I’ve never had issues with it. Great local spot.

Clean, green, and hot caffeine. The quintessential coffee shop for thrifty, discriminating bean chuggers. Parking can be a tad challenging because garden space is a priority for the open-space-loving proprietors of GFC. And for me, that’s totally a plus. People who have to grab and dash have a priority parking space and are in and out in a flash. This cozy yet spacious shop is cheered by morning light. The patrons cross the spectrum from private school professionals to dog walkers. It’s an upbeat atmosphere. If you’re like me, you get irritated by empty creamers in crowded dingy corners. This beverage doctoring station is clean, fully loaded, and spacious. If you’re re going to hang out alone, meet on business, or chill with your pals, They have several options for seating from sofas to work stations. You can’t go wrong at this locally owned, low price, high quality coffee shop.

This place has a decent selection of whole bean coffee along with the list of drinks they can make. I’ve not tried all their blends, but the ones I have tried are pretty good. You also get a free drink when you buy a 1 lb bag of coffee beans(take that into consideration when you see the prices for a 1 lb bag)

Yes my last name is Starbuck and I was born and raised in Western WA so I guess if someone should know coffee it would be me. I travel a lot and it amazes me how hard it is to find coffee in some state but Grounds for Coffee is a great find! I will drive out of my way when staying in Ogden to come here. The coffee is not bitter at all, and not burnt or over brewed. They make a great cup of coffee and I really enjoy the Grand Slam with the espresso & brewed coffee mix. I will get a fu-fu drink from time to time but deep down I just want to taste the beans and the everything that makes that roast what it is. Prices are what you would expect from any coffee shop in Ogden. Now for the people! Oh my they are wonderful! The staff is super friendly and the patrons are too. We just stopped and talked to people in there and it wasn’t any big deal. I most def. will go there again and again. It is how Starbucks used to be so I hope they don’t ever loose that.

As some one who attended Ogden High School, just down the street from Grounds, I will always have a soft spot in my heart for this coffee shop. I remember when it was still run down looking and kind of gross, and I saw it transform into what it is today. Whenever I come to visit my family I always make a couple of stops at Grounds for Coffee and order my favorite, a Mocha Chiller. Yes, the Mocha Chiller is essentially a Starbucks frappacino, but really it’s so much more. It’s sweeter, more fluffy and always consistently good. So now you may ask, why the 3 stars instead of 4 or 5? I went in with my mother just the other day while visiting and ordered a regular menu item, a Raspberry Chiller. The girl who assisted us was obviously new, this isn’t my issue, she asked us three times how to make a Raspberry Chiller.(I have no idea how to make a raspberry chiller.) There was another employee, a more seasoned employee(I know because he worked there when I was in high school) and he too seemed miffed by our order. Keep in mind that my mother has been ordering Raspberry Chillers for 10 years-ish. It was a long tedious experience that eventually resulted in us getting almost what my mother ordered but not quite. My order came out fine. I still like the place, but I’m not sure if I’m going because it’s great or because it’s a nice memory.

Good pit stop on my long walks. Avoid it when the high school kids are going to school if you want great service.

The service at the Harrison location is awful. I used to stop by at least once a week on my way to school but I have finally given up! The Batista’s are not helpful and act like they are doing YOU a favor. The coffee is good, but you can get the same coffee on 25th with much better service.

Fun little place. Nice atmosphere. Staff is nice but not in a hurry. The coffee was my let-down. Given the reviews and how busy the place was I thought I was in for a pretty good mocha. Maybe it was the style of beans they used, but the mocha I got was almost undrinkable and I didn’t finish it.

What a wonderful discovery this morning. I travel a lot and I’m always interested in finding local businesses to avoid the generic anonymity of chains. I was looking for good coffee and a bite to eat on my way to a seminar and hoping to avoid the Evil Green Empire. Grounds for Coffee popped up as the closest option on my GPS. The place was charming and tastefully-decorated, but unpretentious and homey at the same time. The service was outstanding, with warm, friendly staff greeting me and offering me samples of their coffees. The coffee was really, really good, although the French Roast was the only one bold enough for my tastes. This place will have my business the next time I’m in Ogden for sure.

I love love love this place! They have yummy coffee and the refills on a mug are only 50 cents! The staff is usually warm and helpful and they rarely have crappy bands. They also carry Rico’s Burritos which are huge delicious! They warm them up and serve them sour cream and salsa. delivered right to your table. The only thing I can complain about is the adjoining community garden that they have next to it. A lot of the people involved in the garden are regulars at the coffee shop and bring their drama with them. I came to relax and play on my laptop(free wifi!!!) not listen to a group of granola’s complain about someone not pulling weeds… seriously every time I go in and they are there I just leave. They also have this guy who wanders around the coffee shop(never orders anything) and just talks to whoever will listen to him. whether you have earphones in doing homework or not. in short: coffee is YUMMY. environment is usually great. staff great. free wifi.but occasionally the customers there are annoying.

The most important part of this place is the best: The Coffee. The atmosphere, however, is why it gets three stars. It’s a bit of a hole and that bothers me. I’m not a smoker, and I come out of this place, after studying, smelling more like smoke than coffee. The chairs look like they were picked up used from a Motel 6 that went out of business and a majority of the tables need a chunk of napkins underneath them to keep them from rocking back and forth. Most of the times I’m in there, I have to put headphones on to tune out the dudes who are comparing and contrasting the differences between crystal meth and ecstasy before they head over to the pick and pull for a door on their car. I avoid this place unless it’s a quick in and out for a REALLYGOOD cup of coffee. I’m quite torn between the ridiculously delicious nature of the coffee and the rambunctiousness nature of the shop. The GFC on 89 and on 25th St. are my favorite places to go and study in a quite place, but this place by far has the best baristas of the three.

The best coffee shop in Ogden. I am glad to see it is still going strong. I worked here when it first opened and they have a great thing going. Great people, great coffee. The best patio ever! I guess the smoking(garage) is no more but that is a-ok! UMMM. a café latte sounds good about now.
