The burger was fantastic(Ghost pepper cheese as an option? Yes, please!) and the onion rings were cooked perfectly. Add the outdoor seating and it’s a perfect spot for lunch on a nice day.

This place is in a way cool spot. The building is old and I felt bad for the waiters running everywhere down little stairs and outside. The food is pretty good, although I wouldn’t get the steak sandwich again. It wasn’t what I had hoped for. My family all love their burgers. The fries were quite tasty. The service was pretty bad. We waited dramatically long for everything EXCEPT being seated. it’s not likely a place we would go out of our way to hit again, but it worked for our after Causey kayak trip.

I got the club sandwich and sat outside, it was awesome! The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because my mountain bike got stolen from the back of my truck while I was eating, so make sure you lock up your stuff. The staff also told me that some cars have been broken into as well recently. NOCAMERAS!!!

Chili dog and a garden salad was fabulous. The coffee was tremendous(Daily Rise Coffee) and the service fantastic. Just get here before the regular meal times to avoid the crowd.

The food had no seasoning and no flavor, for what I paid it was not worth it. The Coffee was average and what we ordered we could of made at home for way better.

Outside dining for breakfast was tremendous, Cole took great care of us, couldn’t be happier. Fine ingredients, many different options compared to the traditional restaurants, I always walk away feeling good. You can’t go wrong here. Thanks Oaks!

I am very unhappy with this place we drove 40 min to eat here and could not even get anyone to wait on us we stood outside and they said it was 30 min wait then we went in side I had to yell at the cook to get someone to help us and the owner was very rude told me that they were doing the best they could I understand being busy but not to even be a knowledge was really upsetting you run a business you should never be that rude to people we will not return we drove 10 more min to the shooting star it was amazing go there just drive right there

I genuinely feel like the menu here needs to be updated. A fresher outlook might help. The service is OK at most. They have a decent Beer and Wine menu but chances are you will get stuck with a server under the age of 21 and then it’s all downhill from there. Really long wait times to get anything! OK food. Honestly just like many other reviewers, the Canyon seating is really the only thing the restaurant has going for it. I hope that changes!

Only place around that serves beer and is open past 8pm. Cool people, awesome location with decks right on the river.

This is one of my favorite casual destination restaurants in Utah. We’ve been stopping by at least once a year when we’re headed to Snobasin to ski or Pine-view reservoir to boat. It’s situated a few miles up Ogden Canyon along the Ogden river. The drive alone is scenic enough to make a trip up from Salt lake worth it. It’s just what you would’ve imagined a small restaurant with an outdoor patio along a river would be like. It’s nestled in between trees and lush foliage all around with mountain birds chirping in the background. The food is casual American witch fits the casual and fun the ambiance. I ordered the«Belly burger» that’s comprised of a patty that’s blended with half beef and half pork, with a melted ghost pepper cheese, that was recommended by the friendly server as a Locals favorite. Also we had the wings and shrimp as appetizers. You can’t go wrong, fair prices, $ 10-$ 14 a plate, plus a great location along with generous portions. When you do go, do grab an outdoor patio!

I went back for lunch. The burgers were as good as I rembered when I used to live here before. The mushroom Swiss burger was awesome. Great fries too.

I would rate the food 3 stars but I have it 4 stars because the atmosphere is amazing. You get to eat dinner right on the river at beautiful secluded tables. We went on a Thursday night in April at 6pm. We waited about 15 – 20 minutes for an outside table, there was no wait to be seated inside. We got chips & salsa for an appetizer, pulled pork & Philly sandwiches with fries for our meal. They were all fine, nothing amazing. The prices are a few dollars more than a regular casual restaurant but you are really paying for the experience. They have Pepsi products(for my fellow Mt Dew lovers :)

I had the pulled pork sandwich. It was kinda spicy which I liked, but it had so much juice my bread was so disgustingly soggy I couldn’t eat more than half. My wife had the club and said it was really good. The regular and sweet potato fries were great. Our server was so nice too!

Been here twice, first time was back in September of 2014. Never reviewed it then, I even forgot pictures. I kicked myself on the trip home. You’ll find out why. I was feeling like a burger, so after perusing the menu, I chose the Oaks Burger. The four of us ordered four different items. The other couple was my girlfriends daughter and son in-law. They had been here before a few times. Everything we ordered was good. The wait staff was polite and efficient, even had a sense of humor. I’ve learned that if a place names an item on the menu with the name of the establishment, or vice versa, that item is usually pretty good. This was one of the best if not the best burger I’ve had. Definitely top 5. My girlfriend Vicki tried it and said it was delicious. Her burger was really good, too, but mine was really gooder. The burger comes with a couple choices of fries, I chose the Sweet Potato fries, they were these wild cross-cut waffle things(see picture). They were cooked just right. Not soggy, not over cooked, just crispy deliciousness. Fast forward to this last October(2015). We had the opportunity to visit this establishment again as we were back in Ogden for a birthday party. We had wanted to try a place in Roy, but it was closed(a word — call) so we decided to go back and try the Oaks again, see if it was consistently good or if the first time was a fluke. Apparently the first time was no fluke. I ordered the Oaks Burger again, de-liscious! The Sweet Potato fries were also just as good as the first time. So if you like tasty burgers, try it. These guys know consistency. I like consistency.

This says breakfast and brunch but they have dinner too and it’s good. I had the steak when we went her with family and it was well prepared and delicious with excellent sides. Also sitting in the outside seating in the summer next to the river is beautiful. The service was excellent and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Be sure to save room for dessert, the sundaes are fantastic! I look forward to a future visit!

This is my second time here and it looks like they have improved since my last visit. I didn’t see the chicken dish I ordered last time, which was a 1 start. Good job for removing that! Anyway this is for my recent visit. I believe many people come up here because they don’t have the kids for the night and it is a nice drive up the canyon for a date. I didn’t see any kids running around on it visit, total win. Also the outdoor seating can’t be beat, as proven on a Friday night. 45 minute wait for outdoor seating vs immediate seating for indoor. The indoors was not so bad either. We choose to do that and we liked it. There is a fairly good amount of seating indoors and there were hardly any couples indoors. The place could use a really good cleaning and some new paint, it was right on the edge of being too dirty for me. The food was good. I actually really liked my burger. It was called the belly burger. Half beef and half pork belly. The patty was huge too. It was nice to have a burger that was seasoned, which send to get left off a lot of places. I also ordered the beer sample. It came with a few different beers from local breweries. I liked the fries as well. The burger came with ghost pepper cheese but I opted to have it on the side. I’m glad I did because that was really hot. My wife ordered the chicken and mashed potatoes. The children was ok but the potatoes had small burnt pieces in them she she was picking those out. She was not happy about that. She decided not to complain to the server though.

Good 4 star experience. Sat outside and our waitress Raylee took great care of us without hovering. Prompt service & knowledgeable about the menu. The fried mushrooms were juicy & the coating was light. We shared the Belly Burger with cheddar & blue cheese. We tried the Fry Sauce on the burger which just happens to be a local product. Added a nice taste to the burger. Had a scoop of burnt almond fudge ice cream to finish the meal. Very enjoyable experience.

Belly Burger is juicy and well cooked but presentation was awful. Good tomato slice, bun was ok. My server Jennie in a rush for what? Can’t love this service, pull you in anxiety to kick you away. Tazo tea was hot, you have like 3 seconds to ask something or bam!!! Is an informal burgereatery, just a lil bit more of interest to take care of particulars and this place could be a cash maker. Ps. Found one French fry wet and cold like a frog. Food 4 service 2

I love this beautiful restaurant in the canyon! For breakfast you can come enjoy canyon cakes(pancakes with something special for the day, usually a fruit but sometimes a nut or sauce) and canyon coffee(normally just flavored coffee). They serve basic breakfast food: potatoes, omelets, etc. It’s a gorgeous morning drive! For lunch and dinner you can get mostly sandwiches and pastas. My favorite is the BMD Supreme Sandwich. It’s fried chicken with cheese, avocado and sprouts on bread. They have yummy sweet potato fries and onion rings. I love their creamy pesto dressing for the side salad. Don’t forget to grab some farr’s ice cream for the road! The downfall of this place is the staff. They hire young people and so the service is hit and miss. Sometimes it’s incredible service while other times it leaves something to be desired. The last time we went they said it’d be a 20 minute wait when it was almost an hour wait. This was simply because the staff didn’t communicate with each other.

Oh my gosh! I can’t believe what just happened at this joint. My wife was ordered the very generous 12 piece fried chicken wings appetizer. The wings were okay but the dipping sauce turned out to be pretty good. We asked our very young waiter what was in the sauce. He looked at us in a very surprised manner and said, «Oh, you liked it? I have never had it because it makes me nauseous.» Right then I almost fell out of my seat. I let out a loud guffaw incredulous to what I had just heard. You might as well skip this place if you are entering or exiting the valley. This place needs a chef Gordon’s rescue. Call me for the grand reopening.
