I don’t see why anyone would give this restaurant a bad review. I’ve seen some and don’t get it. My wife and I went on Halloween eve for the first time We found the décor and general ambience to be very pleasing an comfortable. The drinks were good Including the Sangria. My first time at any Spanish or Portuguese restaurant requires sampling the Paella. Had the Paella Valencia for two — although it could have comfortably fed three. The dish was just a tad too moist but the saffron rice was nicely prepared and it was flavorful. There was a VERYGENEROUS array of chicken, chorizo, mussels, shrimp, clams, scallops and a half a lobster. I’ve eaten Paella in down neck Newark(and in the iron bound section), as well as Barcelona. As far as I’m concerned, Atlantic Manor’s Paella more than passes the test. I’ll be back to sample the rest of the menu … especially the Rodizio.

We travel a lot for work. And today we arrived here in Ogdensburg. Starving. Searching for a place. We found this place… seriously? 3 and half stars? One of the best Portuguese bbq ever, with a lamb that was heaven!!!(And I normally don’t like lamb…) Yes a little bit on the high price. but holy cow… This place was amazing!!!

Well the chicken was bloody and was returned twice. The service was poor. We are still waiting for our meals. This was a good place not sure what occurred. If you go, good luck.

Love this place! The décor was very accommodating. The bread was hot and the salad was fresh. The Paella Seafood Valenciana was excellent. The waiter was attentive.

Anyone who gives this place less 4 stars needs to have their head examined. I’m originally from Brooklyn, NY an I know good food and restaurants. Okay, where do shall I begin. Let’s start with the food. Everything in the rodizio(thats Brazillian for endless skewers of meat of all different kinds) is truly amazing for the price. I just don’t know how they make money on it. Tender Top Sirloin, Australian pork loin, filet mignon, buttery skirt steak, the most delicious sausage, chicken legs and on and on – did I mention quail? If you dont want the rodizio, the regular menu is anything but regular! The octopus will truly blow your mind! the paella is out of this world. I could go on and on!!! Service: the friendliest most attentive service from the owners to the stafff. They just don’t know how to say No. Everything is Yes and then some! The place is clean with a warm vibe to it. You truly feel like family when you come here. As an overall experience, taking into consideration the totality of a restaurant experience, this is truly the best restaurant in Sussex County. I just don’t understand why it is in Ogdensburg. Still scratching my head on that one. Given its level it should have been in Sparta but close enough to it anyway.

My friends, husband, and I went on a Saturday night. We had been there a few months ago on a Saturday night and left after waiting an hour after our reservation, but decided to give it another shot. Everyone can have a bad night, right? Wrong. We waited a full hour and fifteen minutes this is time. The owner did come out at the twenty minute mark, apologized, and bought us a round. While that does go some way towards showing professionalism, there are limits. Once we did get inside, the wait staff was quick to get menus out and service started. The rodezio was good– they have a consistent quality and good variety. We also give their paella and shrimp with garlic good marks. All in all, their prices are fair, their food consistent, and their seatings overbooked. Avoid Saturday nights unless you have a strong battery on your smartphone to pass the time.

Went on a Saturday night and service was terrible. I didn’t even get a table let alone a drink at bar. Understaffed. Wine glasses were dirty. I heard the food was good but I’ll never know.

This place is great considering where it’s located. A little pricey but the rodizio and paella are worth it.

Worst place ever. That little waiter has quite an attitude. The customer should always be right. This little bastard told off a customer… Don’t ever come here with a large group. They don’t know how to handle a large group. Service was horrible. Food was mehhhh…

Well I made it back to the Manor. I have to say the place is okay. I do not find the food exciting or that well done, but not bad. The Rotizio was salty and the vegetables and potato’s seemed like they were cooked held and then reheated. I think I will give up now. Maybe i will go and drink sangria I did like that.

I wish I could give them no stars… and I’m shocked beyond belief that people are giving this place 5 stars. I was there on Friday with a friend and it was horrible from beginning to end. Our waiter was terrible(I think he was going outside to chat/smoke with friends) and was MIA for most of the night. The busser took our butter knives when he took the soup bowl and bread away, and when our(overcooked and chewy) lobster came out we couldn’t cut through it with our forks. Of course, our waiter was nowhere to be found… The Spanish potato’s(something I love at Spain Ricon) were unsalted and disgusting. Flavorless, yet mushy. Plus, they’re put all around the plate and the watery lobster just soaked them through. The red Sangria was ‘okay’ and we wanted to order another half picture but, again, our waiter was nowhere to be found. We had to ask the busser for the dessert menu but by the time our waiter decided to grace us with his presence, and the dessert menu, we were annoyed and just asked for the check. We split the shrimps in garlic appy(asked for more bread… but of course that never happened) and each had the stuffed Lobster, which was truly disgusting, and a full picture of Sangria. The bill was over $ 100 for a terrible meal, horrible service and overall disappointing night. Neither of us will EVER be back.

I rarely give a restaurant a bad review but I would give this place ZERO starts if I could. We literally waited 2HOURS for our food to come out & it was a Monday evening with very few tables. When it finally did, the broiled seafood platter was ice cold?! The manager didn’t even come by to apologize to us and left it up to the waiter. I cannot even believe in a challenging economy this place is still open. For the prices they charge, I was anticipating an excellent meal & it was the direct opposite. I own a condo in the area and was extremely disappointed and would never return.

Having visited this place a few times since its opening, my review is based on my general experience. The owner(who also owns a strip club in central Jersey) is a nice man, friendly however can some times come across as blank and dis-interested. His number 2 who is the head waiter is a very knowledgable man who is very charming and knows how to make mixed drinks very well. Rodizio. Very, very good. Salty but the restaurants pride and joy. Sangria. Awful. Atmosphere is relaxing. very dark though. owner has told me this is done in purpose however. Cost — pretty pricy for a little place in ogdensburg, NJ Service — ok. Local High school kids mixed in with experienced Portuguese staff make your service on the night a toss up. Bar — a very nice bar that seats around 15. Beer choice is limited to standard beers. cocktails are good, bar menu is simple and service us often quick if seating there. Not a place you bring your buddies as space is limited especially during busy times, where the overflow of customers waiting to be seated will be standing in the bar area. Parking — about 30 spots, very tight and at a busy time you are parking across the street and having to cross 517. Upon leaving you will likely be greeted by a local ogdensburg police car who will be spit checking cars through the highway in the local school across the road. Don’t be alarmed. the local town is very safe. More parking, a bigger bar area and a more inviting experienced staff and this place could be a little gem.

My first and only trip(so far) to this place was on a Sunday. Everything on the menu was expensive, but for good and unique food, it usually is. The price didn’t scare me off, however I felt that it might have been a bit much for a small town in the middle of nowhere. Lots of things, most things, on the menu are $ 25+ with a fair amount of $ 30+ items. The menu — everything sounded good but I decided to go with the Rodizio, since its not something that you can just get anywhere else, like steak or seafood. We also ordered two pitchers of sangria, a red and white.(We were a large party of 10) The sangria, BTW, was great. We finished both pitchers. Well, the Rodizio was awesome. Perfectly cooked everything with the exception of the short ribs, which I think were WAY to fatty. Everything else was superb and cut to your desired«done-ness», rare — well, etc… So many different kinds of meat and options. It was like Noah’s Ark on my plate. I can’t really complain. My wife, being a vegetation, was told she could pretty much ask for anything, so she got a vegetarian paella. It was HUGE and she could only finish ¼ of it, the rest came home. I had some and it was delicious. Never at any time did we feel rushed and the service and wait staff were excellent. We will definitely be coming back again, but for the price, make it a special occasion only trip.

For Portuguese food, the best for 30 miles around.(you need to go to Newark’s Ironbound for better). Good service, nice bar area. Great lunch specials if you can make it. For something different in Sussex County this place fits the ticket.

1) The place was packed, I suggest make a reservation, we went because we were craving for Portuguese food and to our surprise they have a «Rotisserie». Bam! We discovered the hidden«FAGODECHAO» in Sparta. 2) The staff were very friendly in spite of their tight and very busy night, they made sure your needs are met, they all worked together as a team in spite of a near«chaotic number» who would want to dine in this Sparta’s kept secret steak/portuguese place”. 3) The FOOD:(that’s what counts!) was amazing. Coming from the Big Apple, I was not expecting a quality of food like this. Thank you Carlos!(co-owner) for a such wonderful dinner and experience.

People certainly have different experiences, but I don’t understand the 1 or 2 star reviews for Atlantic Manor. This was our first visit and we found it delicious and the service was fine. Friendly waitress. We had the mixed meat and the shrimp in green sauce. The meat was cooked more medium rare than rare as we asked for but that’s why we order rare, just in case. the green sauce was garlicky and the shrimp tasted fresh. The meat came with house cut fries, sooo good, soaked them in green sauce. The rice was bla, but the fries made up for it. We will be back with big appetites for the rodizio! Soup is included, good soup, but I wish it was a choice of soup or salad. It was worth the trip and price. Oh by the way the red sangria was good.
