I have family that go to Maine every Columbus Day weekend and they always stay at the Beachmere. When I had the opportunity to escape for a few days to Maine I jumped on the opportunity to stay here. The location is prime — you’re not necessarily on the main strip in Ogunquit but it’s a super short walking distance to get there. The grounds are beautiful — the layout of the buildings that make up the inn are in a way like a crescent and within the inner curve is a huge green lawn with chairs and an awesome view of the ocean. Additionally, there is access to the marginal way which you can take to get to the shops or to simply walk and enjoy the ocean and natural beauty. We stayed in a one-bedroom suite; the room had bright colors with blues and whites throughout — very New England. The room also included a kitchenette, a huge bathroom with double sinnks, and a balcony with a great view of the ocean. It was simply decorated and very spacious — really very nice. The staff was great, they were very friendly and made you feel welcome as soon as you checked in. Attached to the lobby was a dining area which served meals throughout the day. I only had a sampling of the breakfast items which were pretty good, though I believe they have a more extensive menu for other meals. The lobby also had books and pamphlets highlighting things to do around the area, and they also have a multi-purpose room upstairs that looks like it can be used for private events. Overall, I had a great experience at the Beachmere. For being a beach resort in a high-tourist area, this place delivers the goods. The location, friendly staff, and accommodations make it a place I will come back to every time I visit Maine.

Best view from any hotel resort in Ogunquit. My husband and I enjoyed a quiet, kid free night’s stay(thanks to helpful inlaws) in mid September. We had a room with king bed, fireplace and small kitchen area. A bit pricy, but well worth it. Breakfast was a bit weak for what you pay for the room. No pool so probably keeps the families with children away a bit. Room and yard view were spectacular. Rooms, spa area and grounds were all immaculate. Ogunquit is our favorite place in Maine and would definitely stay at the Beachmere again.

Unsure as to what is in the water at this place that brings people to post anything positive about this Inn. Starting with the fact that they failed to call us back when we attempted to make a reservation. We had to call them three times. Sheesh! The only reason we bothered was because we had read such great reviews… Anyhow, they promised us a room with a fireplace and when we checked in, they didn’t have a room with a fireplace. Upon check in, they informed us that there was a musician who played there the following night and he had«quite the following» and was not to be missed. So the second night of our stay, we went down and tried to get dinner at their«dining room» but all they had were appetizers. We ordered a bunch of apps and decided that it would be our dinner. Everything that came out of their«kitchen» tasted like something frozen purchased at Costco and nuked before serving. Awful. Just awful. Our server was weird and forgetful and we waited far too long for the check… But I digress. Let’s talk about this musician with a following. Sorry junior, but I’m pretty sure that your parents own the Inn. You are good enough for sitting around a campfire but the only following we saw were your parents and two of your female friends who showed up to support you… And us. And we wouldn’t actually follow you. But keep plugging away because someday, you will improve. The 12 minute jam song kinda broke my brain though. Enough about that. The bed was so hard that our hips hurt in the mornings. The blinds were so cheap that the rooms never got dark with the florescent lights lit all night outside — shining in our eyes. Brutal. Effing brutal. The furniture was cheap and the walls thin. The room was clean though. So, there’s that. Overall, I would say that if you wanted to stay at an Inn that would make you want to go home — stay here. I like the places that make me feel like I never want to go home again –so count me out. This place is a fail… But it does remind me of my granny’s house. Next time we’ll go visit granny when we want to be uncomfortable and lose sleep.

Beautiful hotel. Went on a low key weekend after Thanksgiving a couple of years ago. Was upgraded to a nicer room with an ocean front view. The staff was super lovely and nice. It was a 20min walk or so from two different beautiful tourist locations. Went during the down season so not a ton was open. Definitely stay here!

We loved Beachmere Inn. Our room had beautiful ocean views. The room was a tad out dated, that’s why they lost one star, but it was clean and had lots of room. The staff was extremely helpful, giving us recommendations of different restaraunts in the area which we really enjoyed. I also let them know that it was my boyfriends birthday, and when we can home that night they had left a bottle of red wine for us with a happy birthday note. I thought that was really nice. The hot tub was awesome, and they also had a sauna as well, which was small but good that they had it. We liked that. They also have a continental breakfast with coffee, tea, cereal, bagels, muffins ect. which was key. All in all we really enjoyed staying here. We look forward to staying again. We stayed in January, so it wasn’t pricey at all. I’m sure the prices increase during the summer, but Beachmere Inn is a fantastic place for a nice romantic weekend getaway.

We stayed at the Beachmere Inn January 14 – 16, 2011 for the 3rd annual destination tweetup. We had a beautiful ocean-front suite that was clean, roomy and comfortable. An expanded continental breakfast was included and there were Kindles available on loan and plenty of snowshoes available to borrow. My only complaint was that the lighted makeup mirror in our room,(a wonderful touch,) was hung at a perfect height for a supermodel or a man. I am average height at 5′ 5″, and I had to look up to use the mirror, rendering it painful for me and useless for short women. We were with several other couples, and every room was the same. The Beachmere really needs to rehang those mirrors at a comfortable, woman-friendly height, or better yet, hang them with a height-adjustable fitting!

The Beachmere is in a PERFECT location for people staying in Ogunquit on vacation. They have a variety of rooms, great ocean views and exceptional access to the downtown area, Marginal Way and Perkin’s Cove. We stayed in the«Garden Suite» at the Beachmere which was beautiful… BUT… on our way into bed, we pulled down the bed covers and noticed SMALLBUGS, long ANDSHORT(!@!@!_) hairs on the sheets. Clearly, the hotel had not cleaned the bedding in between guests, and the combination of the literal BEDBUGS and PUBICHAIRS were not relaxing to either of us. We were forced to sleep on the small sofas, as it was past midnight and all of the office staff had already left for the evening. We did not want to call the«emergency number», wake someone up and have them bring us new bedding or send us to a new room. This is what we paid over $ 200 for? When we called the front desk the next morning, the woman was very apologetic and did send the«head of housekeeping» straight away to check on our situation. When she got there, she ignored what we were explaining, glanced at the pubic hairs quickly, muttered something about changing the bedding the day before and quickly lifted off all sheets and blankets, lifting up the mattress and box spring and found a dead Japanese beetle which she then returned to the office and reported. They were NOT listening to our complaint, and sleeping in those conditions and actually paying money for it was not acceptable. The office staff chalked this up to being in the«Garden Suite» as we went to the office and checked out. Again, NOTLISTENING to us saying there were SMALLBUGS and SMALLHAIRS on the sheets we were to sleep in. They did take $ 50 off of our bill as a courtesy but we were most disappointed with the fact they were not listening to us and just assumed this was all an issue with seeing a dead Japanese beetle on the floor.No. Next time in Ogunquit, we will stay elsewhere or pay $ 38 to camp out and sleep on the ground which is basically the same thing.

This Inn is pretty great. Most of the rooms have an ocean view which is really spectacular. The smell of the salty air and the sun on an August morning is New England summer perfection. Take a walk on adjacent Marginal Way which is definitely nice to be right near. When we stayed here two summers ago, our room was very cute. This place is definitely an Inn, nothing corporate about it. I wouldn’t say it’s super sophisticated(although I noticed that there have been more renovations recently), but I like it’s laid-back flowered wallpaper vibe. Our room was a tiny bit small, but it had a kitchenette and the rate was really good for the area. My husband was blown away by the cost of rooms in Ogunquit so it’s easy to become a little disillusioned with all of the tourist-yness of this area. That said, our hotel room was the best part of our trip. Oh yea, maybe they could pave the little road leading to the Inn? My life flashed before my eyes a few nights walking in the dark and almost being hit by cars.
