An old fashioned candy shop in the heart of Ojai. Always a treat, no pun intended, when we are in town. Kingston’s Candy Co. offers a wide variety of retro candies and sodas.

This candy shop is awesome. When you’re traveling with kids, it is impossible not to stop in, but I honestly I am glad I did. There is a huge selection — seriously I would rank this 2nd to ‘Chutters’ up in Lincoln, NH(which claims to have the world’s record — actually they have a certificate there proving it). But if you don’t happen to be convenient to the White Mountains, and do find yourself in the Santa Barbara/Ventura area(and without question if you find yourself in Ojai) then you should definitely check it out. Again the selection is enormous, but not overwhelming and it is clearly not just a «bunch of candy» but a very purposefully setup place. It really is a boutique, and you can tell that the people who own it(who also work there) truly take it seriously. While it didn’t apply to us, for locals they provide very cool looking gift baskets and services for parties and weddings — including«candy girls» like out of a speakeasy or where you’d expect hear a young Frank Sinatra crooning(sadly I only saw pictures, but you may have better luck and see the Candy Girls in person when you stop in). Whether or not you’re a huge candy fan, you will be glad you checked it out. If you are such as fan, however, your only regret will be any delay. As you can see they indeed made an impression on me, but seriously, check it out!

Cute little candy shop. They have a candy scavenger hunt! My girlfriend and I purchased the scavenger hunt and had a blast. Your bag comes with a list of candy you need to find throughout the entire store. Once completed, you keep the candy and grab a soda of your choice. We picked the chocolate bacon flavored soda, which was interesting…

Super nice and patient staff. I wandered in unplanned with 5 mins minutes til close(a retail no no when you spend as much time in there as I did) I have family out of state and it turned out Kingston was able to set me up with a shipping box right then and there! I bought something for each of my family members and she voluntarily organized and set everything up in the shipping box. Very pleasant experience, would visit again.

Great little store! They’ve got an amazing selection of hard to find candies and soft drinks. They are always carrying new products and are often willing to try to order items they don’t currently carry. My go to candy store.

Love it! A fun, beautiful little store with those hard-to-find candies, a great soda selection and unique gift items(like hi, I guess I do need a pillow shaped like a Hershey’s bar). Prices for taffy are decent as well.

I visited Ojai today for the first time. I love going into candy shops with all the old time candy. They had a great collection of candy new and old. Loved the large selection of classic sodas. Staff was very helpful. Cute little store.

Kingston’s is a small store but it’s packed full of soda and candy. My nostalgia candy shopping included old-fashioned candy buttons, chocolate Necco Wafers, Mallo Cups, Swedish Fish, bubble gum cigars, Moon Pies, Beemans Gum, and Boston Baked Beans peanut candy. Warning: if you bring a child here you will go broke.(I mean that as a compliment to Kingston’s.)
