Ojai Board Shop

No longer in business when we went on 11÷16÷14. Spent a long time driving around looking for it, it’s tucked back off the beaten path, and it looked like it had not been there in some time… Too bad, would have been a cool place!

OBS is a mom-​and-​pop type store with a great selection and personalized service. Plus, I love their shirts!
They are knowledgeable if you’re a pro and patient if you’re a newbie like me.

I have been shopping for the right board for my daughter for a few weeks now. I had a few frustrating discussions with skate experts in skate shops. I learned to speak skate in the early 80s, but the vocabulary has changed significantly in the last few decades.
A friend introduced me to the Ojai Board Shop and Travis solved all my problems. He asked me a few questions about my kid’s personality and general interests and not only recommended a board, but explained why.
I asked him to show us a couple of his secondary recommendations and he gave me the rundown on four other boards and their pros/​cons. Honestly he had nailed it on the first call. We got the first board and now I just have to find a packing store that sells bubble wrap in bulk to wrap my kid in.
