Ojai Rexall Drugs

I’ve been coming here for a few years as Rite Aid didn’t take my insurance, and I can safely say that I would much rather go to another pharmacy. The staff makes me incredibly uncomfortable, I called in for a refill request to be sent to a new Dr.‘s office and the woman on the phone was impatient and rude, and there is a male pharmacist there that acts very strangely whenever I call to get a birth control refill. He is polite to me until I tell him what the prescription is for, and then after that gets me off the phone as quickly as possible. Not cool

These folks could NOT be more unfriendly. The person at the counter is hard of hearing and asks multiple times for your name — I don’t like to shout my name or my prescription so the entire store can hear me. Hello! Patient confidentiality much? The dark haired female pharmacist LOVES to tell me that the rx isn’t covered by my health insurance, I swear! Hours are not convenient for working folks — and the counter woman actually told me (perhaps she believes it to be true!) that it was illegal for pharmacies to call doctors more than once every 48 hours. I wanted to ask her for the statute name so I could look that up, but decided that it wouldn’t help an already crazy-​making situation. If you have to go here, just be ready!

This is a nice little pharmacy next to the Vons in Ojai. It’s a medium sized store and also has a lot of health care products and some home décor type items too. The staff are friendly and the prices are all right. I usually come here to buy gifts for people or to buy nice greeting cards. The selection isn’t huge, but is varied and the quality of their products is very good. Worth a stop if you’re in the area.

FYI, they miscounted my antibiotics and when I got home and realized they shorted me half of my meds they refused to admit that it could have been their error and correct the mistake, ended up having to ask my doctor to call in another prescription of course to different pharmacy, then had to pay full price because insurance would not cover because rexall said they already filled for the right amount.

I moved to Ojai 5 months ago and found this pharmacy to be a really refreshing change from the hectic, long lines and usually strange faces of the big city chains. Here I feel my many prescription needs will be properly processed and I can usually pick up my order within a short time of my call.

Definitely the best, most friendly, drug store in the Ojai Valley!

Seems like one of the last old fashioned drug stores. Now that I have to go to a nasty Rite Aid I really appreciate how helpful and small town friendly this place really was. It is fun to look at all the nick nacks while you wait for your prescriptions, you will probably leave with a few things you don’t need but can’t live without.

OK so I’m biased!!! This is my parents store and I was raised here. They expanded a couple years ago and have continued to do well. Everyone in the pharmacy tries their damnedest to get people their prescriptions quickly and with good service. My dad will answer any question you ask him to the nth degree (he’s the pharmacist with the beard and blue eyes like me!) And my mom does her best job getting in beautiful gift items. They just expanded the store to have more home health care items such as scooters, walkers, and mechanical lifting arm chairs which was a big deal! The staff I can go on and on about especially the long term people. They became like family to me and as I worked there myself know that they care about almost all the people that they are helping. The «new kids» are doing the store justice and seem to be working out wonderfully! So here is what I recommend. Take your prescription here and wander around all the aisles while you wait, talk to the staff and smell the yummy candles. I hope you enjoy the experience!
