Okeechobee Shooting Sports

Just moved to South Florida from Arizona and stumbled upon this great place! Brought my Springfield .45 and my custom AR to brush up on my skills after about 6 months. The staff was amazingly helpful from check in to the range master that voluntary spotted me so I can get my new CCO Optic zeroed in on the 200 yard range to the point where I was emptying my mags at 200 yards hitting the steel head shot 30 for 30! The pistol range was also great! Good patrons, clean and a nice drive on a Sunday from Singer Island! I will be joining and frequenting this establishment probably every weekend! Toke the drive for a hunting class by FFT. The class was excellent and the different ranges for sighting in our rifles was second to none, no one in the south/​central Florida area has a range that offers what OSS offers. I would say the staff is very nice, the store offers very good prices on the items that they carry. The gunsmith shop can do anything, I mean anything, just ask and they will give you their experienced opinion or tell you to go on line and buy new. They are not going to rip you off or do something for you to just make a dollar, they are really here to help and make sure you have a good time. Sighing in a new rifle? they will help you and coach you to make sure your doing it correctly. Great place but I wish it wasn’t so far away!

Visited Okeechobee Shooting Sports with my dad a few weeks ago. I took some time off from work during the holidays and wanted to spend some quality time with dad. What better way than shooting (not at each other)!
This is a world class facility. I’ve been to several indoor ranges but this place trumps them all.
All the folks that work there are cool and will do whatever it takes to make sure you have a safe and enjoyable time.
We only used the pistol range but did have the opportunity to take a full tour of the facility. All I can say is wow!
The grounds are immaculate as is the showroom. They have all types of guns to purchase as well as accessories and apparel.
I tried but could not find one negative thing about this place. It is a little bit of a drive from Central Palm Beach County but not difficult to find. I plan on returning very soon.

A far ass drive from my locations, but well worth it. Good, spacious facilities, nice staff. Have some cool special events every now and then. Wish this was closer to my home.

Nice place in the middle of nowhere. Decent size store, but VERY small selection of semi-​auto pistols (only 1 glass case, about 4 foot long.) A nice size store with a selection that covered about every category. Prices seemed less than at many other places. Very large outdoor range, but it was raining so I couldn’t try it out. Place is on a long dirt road, plan to wash your vehicle afterwards, or better yet, let a friend drive you there!

Comfortably the best range I’ve ever visited anywhere in the world.
Separate ranges for pistols, rifles and semi-​auto/​assault weaponry. I chose the latter range, and rented their Barrett .50 cal for an hour whilst their smith worked on my rifle. Each range stretches out to 200 yards.
You can bring your own targets (they have boards and staple guns supplied) or buy at reasonable prices in their store, and more impressively set them at whatever distance you’d like. Better training being able to shoot at something other than 25, 50 or 100 yards.
Their gunsmiths are talented, fast working and no nonsense. I’d been hunting all over the east coast to find someone to thread a triangular Remington barrel and they had it indexed within 2 hours on a busy Sunday. Their services alone would be reason enough to visit.
The shop has tons of parts, gear and ammo at good prices, the ROs are friendly and helpful but keep everything safe without being over-​bearing and if you’ve got a camper they have a couple of sites if you’d like to make a longer stay of it.
I cannot recommend visiting highly enough, the experience will serve to remind you how enjoyable a great range can be.

1. Steyr A. is an idiot. But then, he names himself after a gun and uses a frame from a movie as his personal pic so what did you expect? A little research online (seriously dude, 5 minutes) would have shown him that this video was exactly that, a «TRAINING» video, and that these were students learning what to do and not do. Precisely why the video was made.
2. After reading this review I went up and checked out Okeechobee Shooting Sports for myself to see exactly what he was talking about. Instead of a gaggle of functional retards he named them, I met a friendly, knowledgeable staff, running a clean, well organized, and extremely safe business.
Cons :
— It’s a long drive. Middle of Okeechobee County.
— The unpaved road leading in meant that I needed a serious car wash after.
Pros :
— Size. This place is HUGE! They have separate areas for shooting rifles, pistols, skeet, etc, and they even have a tactical range for big boy toys.
— Services. They have a gunsmith on premises, a snack shack with some of the best bbq pork ever made by anyone other than me, and an absolutely amazingly well stocked storefront and reception area. They have classrooms to offer concealed weapons training, and several well trained personnel in every area so that help is never more than a few steps away.
— Safety. From the huge berms separating every shooting bay from one another, to the range officers leading, assisting, and instructing, to the private classes held almost every day of the week, this place obviously puts safety at the top of their list.
— Staff. Ask and you shall receive! Need a gunsmith? Head on over and meet Nelson. There were plenty of staff on duty during my visit, always eager to answer a question, and a simple, Is the owner around? introduced me to Jeff who was happy to tell me all about the place as well as show me some of his African safari trophies.
Summary: This is not the dingy little cinder block bldg with guns painted on the back wall you see in B movies. This well run, clean, and professional shooting facility is what the others wish they could be.
