Great little taproom in downtown OKC, setup in the same building where they brew all their beers. They have to deal with Oklahoma’s archaic beer laws, so they can only sell beers that are 4ABV and below, however these are just for the taproom, so fun drinking beers you can get nowhere else. They make a lot of fun options for the taproom, different than anything they put to market. You can sample all their market beers as well, for free — just a few ounces each though(because the dumb ABV law). They have a cool pint night on Thursdays, with a pizza special. No food any another time though. The staff is really cool, and happy to talk to you about their beer and their brewery. It is a great stop whether you are just passing through or an OKC resident.

This place certainly rules the roost of Breweries in OKC, even though that isn’t saying much. I am not sure what it is about the beers from this city, but I found the vast majority of beers to be lacking in flavor and depth which is certainly too bad… That being said this place does make some nice beers. Their Barrel aged Stout(Uroboros or something) was quite good even though I don’t usually like Stouts. Their Upper 90(?) and Gose had some nice flavor too.

This place is amazing. Oklahoma has some funky laws, but this place makes it work for them! You get four free samples of their stronger beers which any place else would cost $ 1-$ 2 each, then you can also buy pints or half-pints of their beers that are under 3.2% abv. We were informed that laws are changing in August, so we’ll have to see what happens with the change. Either way, great atmosphere, but not near enough seating. They really really need to add a couple tables in the large vestibule or at the very least, put some barstools up next to the row of barrels they have to act as tables. We wouldn’t stay there and drink for hours without a seat, but we certainly could if they would add the dozen or so barstools that would fit there.

When I visited you could only have 4 small tastes due to Oklahoma laws, but I understand that has changed now and you can drink their 3.2% beer there now. I definitely recommend checking it out as they have some delicious beers. Try their beers that have been aged in bourbon barrels if you ever see them in a liquor store!

Anthem deserves a visit if you ever pass through Oklahoma City. I enjoyed their craft brews despite the 4 oz limitation. Come to learn Oklahoma law prohibits the sale of beer that has more than 4% ABV. What is this, some god awful form of prohibition that they can’t sell their own product in house? Glad Oklahoma is temporary. Anyways, Brandy stout called Uroboros was fantastic. I’m in love with Arjuna and I don’t typically fantasize about wits. Awesome beer. Staff was pleasant and took the time to talk with people in the tap room about their history. Highly recommend getting a tour in on a Saturday if you can. Cheers

I was lucky enough to attend a tour and tasting at Anthem. The location is between 5th and 4th right along Western. The facility is large and yet intimate. The tasting area has a large wrap around bar and plenty on tap. They were tasting the following: GOLDENONE belgian-style blonde ale ARJUNA belgian-style white ale UROBOROS stout IPA And a low point… whose name escapes me. For me the stand-out is the Arjuna, which has a spice/tea flavor from the coriander and chamomile. Very nice. The Golden One was crisp and refreshing. The stout was bold with a mellow finish. I did not try the IPA, as it is just not for me, but the low point was pretty tasty. Five starts for the combination of beer, tour, and some true craftsmanship.
