This is real deal Italian beef and sausage! Best I’ve had outside of Chicago. I’ll defiantly be back for more.

This place is amazing! I love their Chicago dog! It’s not small, and it’s made right. Their Italian sausage and peppers is so good as well!

Best Italian beefs outside of Chicago, besides getting Portillos shipped. And their pickle fries? Fantastic. Great customer service too. Highly recommended to any Italian beef lovers! They do their beefs right. Get pickle fries while you are at it too. You won’t regret it.

Just hit this place up for my 2^nd time. First time I went, I was extremely disappointed as they didn’t have giardiniera for their beef and sausage combo. They were putting banana peppers on it at the time, which has a completely different flavor profile from the hot peppers. It wasn’t the same thing as what I had when I used to live in Chicago. This time around, they had giardiniera similar to what Portillo’s puts on their’s. It made all the difference in the world. The sausage was delicious, and the beef/​au jus had a ton a flavor. Putting the correct giardiniera made the sandwich for me. I will go here anytime I’m missing Combos from Chicago. Unfortunately, it’s in a part of town that I don’t frequent that often. Sandwich is huge, so you can share it as well. No other place near here makes a Chicago combo that comes even close.

These guys never disappoint. Food is great, staff even better. If you’re looking for some good, authentic, Chicago style grub, Cal’s is your spot!

The food is good, but except for the first time we have come here, the service has been terrible and slow the past two times. This past time was the last we will be coming here. Their fryer wasn’t working so no fries for us. We ordered an Italian beef but we heard mutterings 5 – 10 minutes later that they were out of beef. Fifteen minutes later they decide to come out to tell us they are out of beef and ask what we will change our mind to. The waitress/​host keeps forgetting what we ordered. It took over 40 minutes for us to get the food, and they even got that order wrong. The small place was only half full at most. The server was nice and apologetic but after waiting so long we just wanted to leave. It didnt used to be this way but our past two visits here were beyond disappointing.

Great place to eat! The food and atmosphere are amazing. Good conversation with the owner as well! It was nice talking about Chicago eateries with him!

2^nd time I’ve been in and still amazed. Everything I’ve tried so far has been amazing. Top notch service Also. Cal really cares about his guests. Cal, you da man!

The Italian beef is a glorious gift. Rumor has it that the beef is the same as the popular places in Chicago. The sandwich can be shared because it is huge. I recommend getting it «dipped» which gets the fully assembled sandwich dunked into the au jus before it is served; it is messy but sooooo worth it. The giardiniara (pickled vegetables) on the sandwich can be mild or hot, but beware; the hot has cherry peppers in them.
There is an option to get a sausage in the Italian beef which is also amazing, but again; be ready to share. If you have a big appetite you could eat a whole sandwich yourself, but it is difficult.
The fried pickle spears are great and I’ve never had them like Cal serves them; long spears breaded and fried instead of chip-​like shapes cut width wise.
The cheesesteak is amazing too, but for your first visit I totally recommend the Italian beef dipped with mild peppers; then branch out from there.

Legit Italian-​Chi-​town style food. Get the gyro burger if you think you’re man or woman enough.

Just got done eating at cals and cannot recommend it enough. The service was excellent and the staff gave us free pickle fries because we had never had them. Food was cheap and excellent! I will definitely be coming back again.

Tried this out today after reading all the wonderful reviews! It was delicious and we will definitely be back! My husband tried the Italian beef and sausage sandwich — and i got the cheese steak sandwich! Both were hot — fresh and delicious! We got the pickle fries and mozzarella sticks and both were fantastic!
Very friendly owner and staff! Go try it out! You won’t be disappointed!

The chicken Philly is easily the best in OKC. French fries weren’t great, but not bad enough to keep me away.

Excellent food and excellent service. My wife tried the chicken philly cheese steak, and it was excellent. I had the beef and sausage sandwich (per the owners recommendation) and it was heavenly. The owner explained that the sausage is flown in from Chicago, which explains the great taste! We will definitely be going back.

I have never been to Cal’s before but decided to stop in for lunch today. Ordered the Gyro Burger, it was great! Basically a cheese burger with gyro meet.
Staff was really friendly and the place was clean. I would definitely recommend you try it.

So if you want a true Chicago flavor right here in OKC, then this spot is the place! I was thrilled with how good the food was! Service was top notch. We got three items, the Gyro and the Italian beef and sausage, one regular and one spicy! Pickle fries and onion rings! All top of the line good!!! Please check this spot out, plus if your a Chicago sports fan they have some great items you might like! We will be back!!!

I was recommended to this place by the people at Red Carpet Car Wash. It is just about a 100 yards from there. The owner greeted me and took my order. Well I guess I should say I left the ordering in his hands as I do most of the time I try a new place. He got me the steak and sausage sandwich and made it spicy for me. I have to say I really enjoyed the choice. It took me 5 napkins to get through the meal. I can tell he really cares about his customers. That in it’s self is very refreshing. I am going to see if I can get my relatives from NJ to stop by here and tell me what they think and how it compares to the sandwiches in NJ, NY and PA. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try.

Not too bad. Bought a groupon so I could try this place and it’s kind of pricey for mediocre sandwiches. I ordered the Italian Beef and Sausage, along with a Philly Cheese Steak. Both orders came with a good amount of french fries. Not too busy (maybe because I came at an off time), but fast and friendly service. The italian beef and sausage sandwich didn’t have anything special about it, just regular meat and sausage, thrown on bread, with pickled vegetables. I feel they need to put the vegetables on the side. The juices from it causes the bread to be soggy on the bottom. Philly cheese steak was my favorite between the two sandwiches. Meat was tasty, hot, sauteed vegetables and cheese on top. It was really juicy, didn’t seem oily to me. I would like to return and devote my stomach just to this sandwich!

Great new place in NW OKC. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff & the owner was even there to talk to us. Had the Italian Beef wet with hot peppers. It was excellent. I also got the mozzarella sticks. Sauce is not traditional, but still good. Had a bite of a Chicago Dog too. Great dog with good flavor. Definitely recommend checking it out
