Great Food. Great Service. Great Margaritas! Came here originally because of a discount from and have been back several times. Worth a visit.

Quality, affordable Tex-Mex at SW59th& Western. I have eaten at this south side OKC mainstay at least a hundred times. It reminds me of joyous childhood excursions to El Chico or Nino’s. Here are some random notes: 1 — The flour tortillas that come with the standard setup are thick and super-delish(better than the flimsy 80s-style corn jobbers). 2 — There are servers still working at this place since I first starting eating there eight years ago. In an industry with such high turnover it seems like the place must be very well managed. 3 — They have an large event space separate from the main dining room. I have hosted many parties in this space. They food is good. The ambience is casual. The main dining room is large with plenty of room to comfortably spread out. Tex-Mex, as a «genre» of food can be pretty caloric. It is what it is. If you are looking for a delicious, yet lower calorie option at Cocina de Mino then I would recommend the fish & shrimp soup. On the menu is says something like, «Caldo de Pescado y Camarones.» I like to add a few grilled jalapeños on the side to make it more«picante.»

Standard Tex-Mex fare. I’ve probably eaten or at least sampled nearly everything on the menu. I have yet to get anything that wasn’t tasty. Lunch specials are served 7 days a week, not just Mon-Fri and are both reasonable and generous.

I just recently bought the entertainment booklet and it had a coupon for this restaurant. My husband and I had wanted to try this place for a while so we figured why not. We walked in and we requested a booth and we were happily given one. We sat down and they brought us some chips queso and salsa. The queso was pretty good but not super flavorful. The salsa really tasted like picante sauce. The best thing was the chips. Then we ordered. I got the lunch chimichanga and my husband got the lunch fajitas. When they brought us our food we asked for some fried jalapeños. Fast forward and we finished our meal and got our ticket. The jalapeños cost more than the drinks. This alone knocked a star off of my rating. Overall it was a good restaurant but they should tell customers when they are going to charge them for something they would typically get for free.

The original location on 29th East of the tracks was the best. But this location is ok. Nothing too special, just your typical Americanized Mexican food.

While Cocina de Mino does have the standard Mexican restaurant staples, there are a few things that elevate it to what is the best Mexican in the city as far as I’m concerned. The food is fresher than most, and with the open kitchen, you can see a lot of it to judge for yourself. There are some dishes on the menu that are a little different from the standard Mexican fare but without any pretensions of grandeur. And in this location, the atmosphere is a plus too — friendly staff and a huge wall mural that walks the fine line between old-fashioned and eclectic. Good prices, well-prepared food, friendly service. What’s not to love? (The answer is the food that is absolutely nuked to heat it up before serving. If only it could be made a little later and a little slower …)

Not the cleanest looking restrooms or kitchen, but the Tuesday fajita special is tough to pass up.
