Deep fork is a place you expect high quality customer service. I called for reservation Sat night party 6. We wanted to eat dinner with fam & friends for my wife’s 24th birthday. Madison was our server. She was unprofessional, awkward & should be working in a BWWs, not a place you spend 2 bills for dinner at. Very disappointed in our service.

I ordered the Rib Eye with Risotto and Asparagus. Food was delicious and warm. Will be coming back again.

We had a great dinner last night. I had the Cedar Plank Salmon and my husband, the baked chicken. Both were flavorful with tasty sides of risotto, asparagus for me and potatoes, green beans for my spouse. I was a little apprehensive after reading previous reviews, but we were using a Groupon, so we gave it a try. We were not disappointed and had none of the experiences outlined in previous reviews. I enjoyed the restaurant’s ambiance, and felt our server was great. While the prices are relatively high, their prices and food quality are on par with other upscale restaurants. I would have no problem with future visits without our Groupon discount.

We have eaten here many times always great. The service is what you would expect at a upscale restaurant. The steaks and seafood are excellent.

I only go out here when my friends want to go out here and eat. I haven’t gone here much because the food never left me with an impression. I never would pick this place to go out and eat for the price there are better places in okc.

This was my first time at Deep Fork, and I hate to judge a place based on one experience, but reading other reviews shows that mine is part of a pattern. I really debated between one and two stars for this place. The food itself, all other things being equal, is two-stars in my book – edible, but not something I’d come back for. But because the cost is so high, especially considering the poor quality of what we got, I have to give it one star. I am struggling to understand where things go wrong at this place. Is it that they purchase inferior ingredients, or is the kitchen staff unskilled? Do they cook everything ahead of time and then freeze it only to reheat it and serve it overcooked and dried out? Adding to it, service is super slow. We noticed a few tables being forced to flag down staff to refill drinks or deliver a check. Obviously, they have systemic problems. The menu and décor are both very dated(I even correctly predicted that the desserts would include something chocolate and a flan or crème brûlée). Everything about this place is redolent of just going through the motions – from the uninspired menu and passionless food to the complete disconnect between cost and quality. We started with the artichoke spinach dip which came with pita and either incredibly dry or incredibly stale slices of garlic bread. The dip was mediocre and the bread was really unpleasant. I ordered the cedar plank salmon which was a tad overcooked and completely overwhelmed by a vinegary sauce, and served with risotto and asparagus. The risotto was both a touch undercooked(the center of the rice grains was crunchy) and so dry it stood in a clumpy pile on the plate. Risotto is supposed to be luxuriously creamy and spread out on the plate, and this was a polar opposite. It reminded us of chicken and rice casserole(the icky one made with canned soup). The asparagus was simply prepared and good, though. My husband had the pork chop with chimichurri sauce and said it was overcooked. The blue cheese potatoes it came with had a decent flavor but were overcooked and water logged. We were there at what should have been prime time – 7 p.m. on a Saturday night – and noticed a lot of empty tables. Because of the super slow service(albeit very kind and friendly), we ended up there way past 8 p.m. at which point the place all but died. They were never busy and thus the terrible food quality and slow service have some other cause. I hate to be so harsh, but it was so not worth the $$$. I’ve had much better food in much humbler establishments – like my house.

Me and my fiancé ate here over Valentines weekend. I was so surprised how much I liked it. I’m kinda a brat when it comes to my food«wink wink». The wine that was requested was so good I wanted a to go cup! The filet was cooked perfectly. The risotto I wanted to eat with a shovel. And the chef sent out this bacon wrapped artichoke thing… oh my god SOGOOD! We will def be back! Thanks for a special V-day experience!

My husband and I made reservations on Valentine’s Day and were never told that they would have a tiny pre-set menu. Not only did it have 5, maybe 6 crap choices, they were overly priced, and they refused to make any changes. I asked if I could change the sides on my dish to the sides on another and they said no exceptions. I ended up settling for the $ 55 steak which was fatty, tough, and all together inedible. If I’m going to pay that much for a steak, it better be cooked well. My husband’s meal was bland and not worth mentioning. I think I could have let this all go since they took my meal off the ticket… However what really put me over the edge was what a jerk our waiter was. It was obvious he didn’t care… He never apologized, never asked what was wrong, just whisked it off like HE was pissed MY meal was bad. The fact that his tip was already added onto my ticket was very angering… Let alone it being 20 undeserving percent. He’s a lucky man because he wouldn’t have gotten one if I’d have had the choice. Needless to say, we along with many other reviewers will not be returning.

UPDATE: I previously forgot to mention, but was reminded again today after checking out the daily Groupon deals… Deep Fork has issued multiple Groupon deals over the past few months. That is never a good sign when you’re at the price point Deep Fork is and have been in business as many years as they have. As other reviewers have mentioned, I will NEVER go back to Deep Fork. My husband and I decided to give them another shot after a disappointing experience with them on Mother’s Day a few years ago, but now I wish I hadn’t. We made a reservation for dinner on Christmas Eve and took my mom who was visiting from out of town. Their website didn’t say anything about it being a fixed menu. If I had known that, we never would have gone for dinner. I noticed other reviewers had the same problem and some of them made their reservations directly with the restaurant and they were never told either. Also, they weren’t busy that night, but the service was still really slow. We all started with the crab bisque. That was the best part of the meal and it was down hill from there. I ordered the pork chop for dinner, my husband got the filet and my mom opted for the duck. Of the three, her dish was the best. My pork chop was decent, but not worth what they were charging that night. My husband’s filet was cooked properly, but the flavor was lacking; I’ve had better steaks at Outback. For dessert, we all opted for the chocolate dessert. Again, it was ok, but nothing to get excited about. I’ve had no bake desserts that were better. I don’t mind paying money for a good meal, but this $ 300 dinner wasn’t worth the money. Please do yourselves a favor and avoid this place. There are lots of options in Oklahoma City so I promise you won’t miss this one.

What a series of disasters. We blame the management, not the servers and bartenders who tried their best. We made a reservation weeks in advance for Christmas Day. But it did not matter, we arrived to a full lobby and were put on a list. We waited 1 hour 15 minutes for a table. This is unacceptable. Either accept fewer reservations or why even have them at all. While we were waiting, the bartender tried his best but was clearly short staffed. My sister found a large piece of broken glass in her drink when she almost swallowed it, and received no apologies or anything. When we sat down the waiter tried to let us know he had a huge order to put in and 5 other tables to see before he could come take our order. Mind you we had already waited 75 minutes past our reservation. While not his fault, clearly that’s too much for one waiter. Tammy, the events manager, did her best to step in as our waitress. She was a lovely person. But first she said they were all out of steak. Any kind of steak or beef. A restaurant serving a fixed menu should be prepared to have their choices, especially steak, throughout the evening. Moments later she miraculously said no it was the porkchop we had all switched to that they were out of and we needed to switch back to steak. While we were glad for steak, it was interesting how suddenly they weren’t out of every type of beef. When it arrived it was less than the 8oz mentioned on the menu. Finally, after receiving lukewarm yet delicious soup and having our three course meal, we were almost over charged by an entire $ 55 meal. What a disorganized mess. We feel bad for the servers and bartenders made to work on Christmas Day under such under staffed, unprepared conditions. In the end, the food was expensive and mediocre and the experience poor.

Well I’m finished with them. After 15 years and more chances than I’ve ever given a restaurant I’ve given up. My last chance was last night and they failed in everything except the waiter, he was great and tried to make up for a lousy kitchen staff. My «pork chops», broccoli, and carrots were not worthy of a soup kitchen! Pork chops were one rare chop that had to be from a piglet, the other was like a small piece(1“x1″) of tough rare pork. The broccoli was fresh ok, fresh out of the microwave. Some heads were warm, some ice cold. The carrots were tepid. I’m through!

We just had our thanksgiving dinner. We love coming here and always have great time. Food is great in general. The disturbing thing happened tonight was that we had somebody else to go box. I had plenty leftover for each item on my plate. We realized our server never brought us our box after he took our food. We reminded him later after dessert and billing and he went on to get it for us. Since our food left our sight and his sight for a while and thank giving dinner is standard courses everyone got tonight, we were wondering. As soon as i opened the box, size of each item was not where it was and not all items were included. It is hard to convince me that belongs to me. I had my husband return it. He did not accept any accommodation it was offered but simply wanted to return the leftover was not ours. Hopefully the management understands where the issue was and put action to address it.

I went here for dinner with my wife using a Groupon. The staff were polite and well acquainted with the menu. I ordered the salmon and my wife ordered the fettuccine. I enjoyed most everything. The risotto was a little undercooked. My wife’s fettuccine was good. The food in general is good, but for the price, I guess I expected a little more polish on the meals. Not a bad dinner overall, but definitely not excellent.

Worst dining experience of my life this evening. After waiting an hour and 15 min for our food and appetizer that our waitress forgot, the fish was not presented as described. The«crusted tilapia» was basically just fried tilapia with a bunch of breading poured on top. Terrible. Never going back!

My boyfriend made reservations for us for Valentine’s Day and I was very excited to eat here as I had heard great things, and the menu looked amazing! Upon arrival, we were disappointed to find that they were not serving their regular menu, but a special Valentine’s Day menu. This was not mentioned during reservations, or anywhere on the website. You couldn’t even get steak! It was mainly fish, with a pork dish and a chicken dish. When we questioned the server about it, he was less than friendly. Which turned us off to ever eating here again, and we left to have our Valentine’s Day meal elsewhere.

Eek. I feel like two stars is harsh, but I came here with a Groupon and I’m not sure I would return and pay full price for Deep Fork’s dinner. It was all just«meh.» I’d been here for work luncheons and felt like I had better food at those, which is a bit surprising. The service was alright. With such a high prices, I’d expect top notch/fine dining service like you get at Mahogany, Red Prime, Boulevard, etc. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. The décor also looked straight out of the ‘70s or ‘80s. It’s not somewhere I’d think of as going for a nice dinner… it looked like it hadn’t been updated in years. We started with the smoked salmon appetizer, and were immediately weirded out by the texture of it. It was hard as a rock and did not flake apart like salmon usually does. My boyfriend immediately said it was probably frozen. It was almost like the texture made it appear to be overcooked, but it didn’t taste overcooked… so previously frozen made sense to me. My boyfriend started with the tomato bisque, and I with a fire and ice salad. The poblano dressing was pretty good. He had a steak and I had the grilled halibut, and had the same texture issue as the salmon. It also appeared to be frozen, which would honestly make sense considering there were about 10 fish entrees on the menu. Having worked in a restaurant, I know it’s nearly impossible to keep that much fresh fish on hand, especially with the high food cost. My halibut also came with a «spicy avocado relish,» which appeared to just be an avocado chopped on top of the fish. I like avocado and it was good and all, but not what I was expecting. I did like the risotto that came with the fish… I think it was some type of tomato, artichoke and basil combination. It was probably the best thing I had. All in all, nothing was bad. But paying $ 30+ a plate, I wouldn’t expect frozen items. They really need to cut down their menu; it’s a bit overwhelming, and I can’t imagine keeping all those items fresh on hand(which I assume they don’t). I’d been wanting to try Deep Fork because I’d driven by so many times, but I doubt we’ll be back. For the high prices, there are much better options in town.

I went here recently with a few other couples and it reminded me just how much I like this place. You can make a reservation if you prefer, but unless you are with a large group, you really won’t need one. I’ve never had to wait long here. The atmosphere is dark and cosy, with most of there tables being booths. The times I have been here with groups(6 – 10 people), they have sat us in side rooms which affords a bit more privacy which is nice. The wine list is a good size and the food is very good — I especially recommend the filet, the risotto, and the chicken brochettes appetizer. One of my friends is gluten free, and they were able to easily accommodate her with simple variations. They also have someone who walks around constantly handing out dinner rolls, and they usually give you a little taste of something from the kitchen before your food comes out — mini caprese salad or a chicken brochette, etc. Come here for either date night or group dinners — and don’t forget your Andes mints on the way out!

Let’s start with the service. The wait staff was very attentive and nice. Our waiter was quick to give suggestions and scored big with the Hunter’s cocktail recommendation. The other wait staff was quick to refill water and watch for our every need. The ambiance was nice. I remember when this was TapWerks. It is a bit dark in the main dining area. But there are nice hide-a-way booths for a more intimate dining experience. The bar is bright and open. The bathrooms are clean and a bit dark. Now for the food. We started with the calamari with marinara sauce. It was fresh and warm, and crispy. Very nice. The rings were large and filling. I had the mustard cedar plank salmon with grilled asparagus and risotto. The salmon was moist and flavorful. Asparagus perfect. The risotto was thick with cheesy goodness. My husband requested the mac and cheese with shrimp. This was very good. Hot, bubbly and cheesy with a generous serving of shrimp. Overall this was a great experience and we would love to do it again. The place is a bit dark, and I recommend looking at the menu before going or bringing a flash light for the menu. It was a bit pricy, but worth it for a special event.
