Went in not long before closing time last Saturday to get a new driver’s license. Open til 12:30! That in itself was nice! They were super nice and very efficient! Line moved fast with only two people writing there– I was out in just a few minutes! Highly recommend; I’ll be back!

So… what? It’s so weird here. Kind of… okay, here: Have you ever seen Beetlejuice? You know, the one with Winona Ryder. You haven’t? Oh, uhm. Well. I haven’t seen Braveheart, so we’re even. Well, the waiting area felt a lot like purgatory in Beetlejuice. That weird place you go when you’re dead is purgatory right? Yeah. just eerie, grey, and strange. But the fellow who did my business was friendly and such. Did his job without making me feel like I was ruining his day because I needed to renew my I.D. that’s been expired since September. It was $ 10 to renew, so that’s nifty. I was expecting it to be more.

Express Tag Pros & Cons. Pros: + Incredibly friendly, and knowledgeable staff. They are well informed, and they communicate what is expected of you as a customer in a non-condescending manner. + When you pay for your tag, many tag agencies will charge an additional $ 1.50 for the renewal reminder postcard to be mailed out. Express doesn’t charge the $ 1.50, but they still send the reminder. Also, Express sends the reminder when it’s almost time to renew the tag. This is unlike Northwest Tag Agency that will take my $ 1.50, then turn around and immediately send me the reminder in the mail telling me that I need to renew my tag next year. Explain to me how that’s helpful? «Hey, you need to renew your tag. Sometime in the future.» –_– + It’s right next to Little Mike’s Hamburgers. Get a burger right after you get your tag, or updated driver’s license. Cons: — They have a pony in there sometimes. It’s actually a dog, but it may as well be a pony considering how big the thing is. It has a resounding bark that will make your heart quiver a little. Also present are some birds. Maybe it’s just me, but I would prefer a place that isn’t also a part-time zoo. — It smells… weird in there; kind of a musty smoke smell, comingling with the smells of the aforementioned zoo. — They’re pretty slow in getting things done. Not because they’re ignoring you, but because they take their sweet time with each customer. Not a huge con, unless you’re in a hurry. The issues above are mildly bothersome, but I’m impressed with how helpful they are that I can be forgiving about them. Except that freakin’ scary pony. Keep the ugly pony away from me.
