PLEASEDON’T STAYHERE! i wish i could give no stars. Our adventure began with a rude desk clerk. They charge you an extra $ 100 deposit in case you«damage» their rooms. I can hardly believe that is possible. Dirty carpet, fingerprints on all the switch plates, broken panels by the appliances, the refrigerator door hanging ajar and the nonsmoking room reeked of smoke. The rooms are so weird, you can tell they enclosed a former lanai type area with broken curtains. i wish i were more eloquent to better describe this fine hotel by Wyndham. If i were Wyndham i wouldn’t let them put Wyndham on the signs. I will never stay at another Wyndham property again.

Horrible horrible experience. Let’s start our story off with the non English speaking clerk at the desk not having my reservation. I had the confirmation number and all the could say was«I don’t have it» and continue to act indignant. I had to call orbitz and have her fix the problem bc I wasn’t getting anywhere with the clerk, and the clerk wasn’t helpful to her either. Finally after 10 mins the clerk did what he should have done in the first place, take my info, get me a room, and take care of the details with orbitz latter. When we get to our«suite» we find that there is both a front door and a back door which is a little creepy because this hotel is not in the best area. Our fridge is leaking water and the bathroom door and the back door don’t properly close bc the door drags on the floor. The next morning I ventured to the front office to get a bottle of water(there was none in the vending machines and no one at the front desk to ask) and I see the back door to our room is right outside the vending machine area so I leave the building only to find that my key doesn’t work on the back door and it doesn’t work to get back into the lobby either. I end up having to walk around the service exit, slipping past disgusting garbage trucks to get to the front door where my key miraculously works. I was not happy with my experience, and the lack of customer service I have come to expect from Oklahoma doesn’t help either.

So you’re in OKC so you’re already drinking«near beer» and looking for a place to stay for the night. Somehow you get lost(or your mother-in-law sees pictures of the place online and thinks its nice and books some rooms online) and you get a room(or two) at Hawthorn Suites. Lucky you(us). This place is in the ghetto next to some type of automotive window repair shop that has no windows and looks like it has been broken into so many times the owner probably gave up and leaves the door unlocked at night. If you are«lucky» like me when I was there, its freezing cold outside, snowing, and you are basically stuck in your«suite». Those lucky enough to stay in a recently renovated suite like mine will find that the fridge is missing under the counter with a piece of plywood in its place and the fridge is doubling as your nightstand. You’ll also find you king bed you were expecting is two queen beds. If you’re lucky like my in-laws, your room’s heat will blow colder air than the artic air outside. And you’ll feel extremely safe looking at the frame around the front door that is cracked and pulling away from the wall like a pimp has kicked it in a few times to collect his hoe and the $ 5 he rents her out at. I told you that story to tell you this one … don’t stay here. You’ll HATE it unless my story sounds like your kind of party. It is poorly maintained, in a bad location, and not worth the price… which by the way, the room price would make you think this place is nicer than it really is.
